Magazines. Articles. Celebrities. Social media. Why am I naming these topics? I have seen sooo many people receive eating disorders, depression and anxiety from these so called enjoyable things.

Don't get me wrong, I myself, use social media and read magazines that are filled with my favorite celebrities, but I can't lie and say that not a single part of me wants to change who I am.

There will always be a little voice in the back of your mind expressing all your flaws and insecurities.

When people look at these "flawless" and "perfect" people and realize that they don't resemble them, it's like the end of the world. Picture a flower in a beautiful meadow and now picture the sun setting; they look nothing alike, yet both are so beautiful. You might not look like your idol, but that is what makes you beautiful.

I never realized how stressful getting ready for a date is. I have been staring at my own reflection for over an hour now and I can't even decide on what hairstyle to go with. Keeping the whole "being yourself" thing in mind, I finally decided to keep it down.

Now, when a guy says "dress nice", does he mean nice causal or nice fancy? Clearly guys need to be more instinct on what the term nice means. Ugh.

After tearing up my wardrobe, emptying a whole tube of concealer m, ruining my room, I think I chose a look that satisfied me. I decided to go casual with a simple blue summer dress with some brown sandals.

If anyone is good at keeping secrets, it's Jake. He hasn't yet told me where we are going and it's making me anxious. I absolutely hate surprises. I have and always will and for my first date, ever... I'd like to at least know where we are going. However, like everyone says, expect the unexpected. And I can't guarantee you, I'm in no way, shape, or form ready for this date. Yet, I'm standing at my front door waiting for the doorbell to make its regulars screeching noise.

"So are you going t-"I began.

"Nope," he answered, not letting me finish.

"You don't even know what I was going ask," I puffed, crossing my arms.

"Let me guess, it's along the lines of, where are we going," he replied, smirking.

"So," I smiled, waiting for him to answer.

"I told you no, and you are going to change my mind, love," he winked and continued to drive.

"This is messed up," I whined.

"Are you afraid I'm going to kill you?" He joked.

"I'm not doubting you won't," I replied, riding an eyebrow.

"You caught me, I was planning to kill you in my basement," he sighed.

"I knew it!" I exclaimed.

"Alright Miss Smartypants, close your eyes," he ordered.

"What if I don't want to?" I asked.

"What is I turn around at drop you off at home?" He wondered.

"Closing my eyes now," I immediately covered my eyes with my hands.

"Fantastic," he laughed. "Speed bump!" He screeched as the car jolted in the air.

"You moron!"I shouted, clutching the handle on the car door.

"I prefer the term mentally insane, but moron has a nice ring to it," he stated, parking the car. "Come on slow poke," he rushed.

"Calm your horses, I'm unable to see at the moment," I recalled.

"Who's fault would that be?" He asked, zipping his hoodie.

"Yours!" I remarked.

"Don't argue with your date," he instructed, chuckling.

"Where are we?" I asked.

"Look behind you," he answered

A humongous, bright sign blinded me as I turned around. It read "Chiri" and it looked way too fancy for my liking.

"You bought me to a fancy restaurant with me looking like this?"I asked, gesturing to my casual wear.

"You look beautiful, besides, we don't know anyone here and they don't know us," he shrugged and grabbed my hand, opening the door as we approached the restaurant.

"Reservation for two under Green," Jake stated, talking with a women.

"This place looks expensive," I mumbled, squeezing his hand tighter.

"It's worth it," he whispered back, smiling down at me.

"Follow me," the women ordered, leading us to a table outside.

"Thanks," I smiled at Jake who pulled out a chair for me to sit.

"I'll be right back to take your drink orders," she offered.

"Have you ever been here?" I asked.

"I went here to attend my banquet for basketball a couple of years ago, but since then, no," Jake answered, reading the drink menu.

"There's sooo many less expensive activities we could've done," I groaned, looking at all the prices.

"I realized that, but our first date deserves to be memorable. What other way could we have made it more memorable that show up a fancy dinner under dressed?" He laughed.

"So I am under dressed?" I asked, panicking.

"Love, I'm wearing jeans," he chuckled, shaking his head.

"Have you guys decided what you want to drink?" The waitress asked, staring at Jake like he's a piece of meat.

"Um, yes," I say, breaking her trance. "I'll have an iced tea."

"And you?" She asked Jake, batting her lashes.

"I'll just take a water with lemon," he said, without looking up from the menu, resulting in her leaving.

"She should just write 'love me' on her forehead," I grumbled, rolling my eyes.

"And you should write 'jealous' on yours," he winked.

"Would you want a guy checking me out right now? In front of you?"

"She wasn't checking me out," he defended.

"You need glasses," I laughed. "What are you ordering?" I asked, changing the subject.

"Just a sirloin, how about you?" He replied.

"I can't choose between chicken with shrimp or steak," I sighed.

"Get the chicken and shrimp, your eyes lit up when you said it," he smiled.

"Yeah, but steak is cheaper," I whined.

"I could care less if the chicken was a hundred dollars more than the steak, if you want the chicken with shrimp, get it," he stated, grabbing my menu from my hands and placing it at the edge of the table.

"You excites about senior year?" Jake asked, placing his hand on mine.

"I guess, I wish we went to the same school though," I complained, looking at out hands.

"It's not like we won't talk or see each other at all, just seven hours almost everyday,"he replied.

"Is that supposed to be comforting?" I laughed.

"It could be eight hours," he smirked.

"So you're joining clubs?" I wondered.

"Well, I want to tryout for the basketball and cross-country teams, but club wise, I don't know. I'm interested in the club where they go to different schools and help the disabled children, but I also want to join the band to increase my guitar skills, he answered.

"What about the art club?" I asked,

"I don't do art," he laughed.

Art is Mason's thing. Shoot.

"I know, I was just kidding," I laughed.

"What about you? Clubs? Sports?"

"Photography club, and I wanna try out for the volleyball team," I said.

"Photography, huh? Do you have any photos to show off?" He smiled.

"You can look through my photos and see for yourself," I smirked and handed my phone over.

"Are you actually giving me your phone?" He asked, astonished.

"I have nothing to hide," I smiled at him and chucked at him confused face.

"These are amazing," he complimented, swiping through the photos. "The teacher in charge if photography class will love you and your work," he gawked.

"I really do hope so, but I don-" I began.

"Here are your drinks, are you ready to order?" She asked, looking directly at Jake...again.

"My girlfriend wants the chicken and shrimp and I'll have the eight ounce sirloin," he said, making sure she gets the fact that I'm his girlfriend through her thick skull.

"And what side does she want with her meal?" She asks, pretending I'm not even there.

"I'll have the carrots with fries," I answered, lifting the menu for her to grab.

"And what side would you like?" She asked Jake, ignoring the fact that I'm holding the menu up.

"I'll have a salad with fries," he spoke, but didn't raise his menu.

"Alrighty, I'll get that as soon as possible for you," she winked and grabbed Jake's menu of the table.

"She's joking right?" I laughed.

"She needs to take a hint," Jake smirked, taking my menu and placing it on the table behind us.

"Only my luck that a girl flirts with you on our first date," I sighed.

"The thing is, I'm not on a date with her, I'm on a date with you," he whispered.

"No, really? I had no idea," I sarcastically answered.

"Maybe I'm not the only one needing glasses," he joked.

The night went on for what seemed like forever. Not that I'm complaining, Jake and I had endless topics to discuss. But with this annoying waitress invading our date every five minutes to check up on how we are doing, is getting me ticked off... fast.

No matter how many times Jake ignored her, she still can't get the fact that he's with me. Like girl, back off. I tend to not let jealously get to me, but like Jake said, I want this date to be unforgettable and with this snob riding his back, she sure is making her appearance unforgettable.

After we ate our main course and dessert, Jake left a tip for the obnoxious waitress and we bolted. If I had to look at that girl one more time, I would've vomited.

It is currently 7:59, and Jake's driving while singing as loud as he can through the window. He is one of the many guys who isn't afraid to make a fool out of themselves, and boy, this is one of his best traits.

How in the world did I get soo lucky?
