"How come no one knows about this? You should've called the police!" Nic had been all morning asking me about my past relationship with Scott, as it had come as a total shock to her, I couldn't help but answer all of her questions.

I had just told her everything about the apparent kidnap, how it had all been a lie. And the only people who knew about it were Scott and I, and Nicole now.

"They would've killed Scott's parents."

Nic sighed loudly. "Your life's a mess."

I laughed bitterly and corrected her. "My life was a mess."

She arched an eyebrow in denial. "It still is. You dig an engaged guy who's about to marry the daughter of a psychopath."

"I don't dig him, alright?" I insisted. "He's not a part of my life anymore."

"He's your neighbor," She inquired.

I crossed my arms in annoyance. "Go back to your room!"

She laughed loudly and poked my shoulder playfully. I scrunched my nose and covered myself up with the white duvet, groaning so she would go away.

"Alright! I'll leave you alone now," She said finally. "By the way, someone's calling you."

When she left the room I uncovered myself and checked my phone knowing I would have probably missed a call from my mom. But I was wrong, it was an unknown number. I furrowed my eyebrows, who could it be? I decided to call back, hoping that the person who had called me would pick up.

"Melissa!!" A familiar male voice exclaimed.

"You called me?" I mumbled embarrassed by the fact I didn't recognize the person who had greeted me with such excitement.

"Yeah, yeah. It's Remus, by the way." Then I remembered, last night's twins. "I'm calling because there's this play this evening, at the park, my brother and I... we have a small role on it. We were wondering if you would want to come with your roommate? It's free."

I smiled tenderly as I remembered our conversation last night. Remus had been so much nicer than his brother Romulus, even though they looked exactly the same, I somehow found Remus more attractive than his brother.

"A play? So you're actors?" I asked him. Hmmm, this was interesting.

He laughed silently from the other side of the line. "Nothing like that. We enjoy acting, but that's it! Just a hobby."

"What's the play about?"

"It's a classic. Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet." He said. I arched my eyebrows in surprise, that was one of my favorite books!

"Woah! I love that story!" I rose from the bed and made my way to the small living room. "I'll ask Nicole, I think we're free tonight."

"That's great!" He exclaimed excitedly. "Text me, okay?"

I nodded even though he couldn't see. "Sure!"

"See you!" He said at the same time I hung up.

"Who was that?" I heard Nic's voice behind me. She was sitting in the couch staring at her phone, she had already changed her pajamas.

"Some guy I met yesterday at the party. He just invited us to some play tonight. Fancy Romeo and Juliet at the park?" I pressed my lips hoping for a positive answer.

"Sure." She muttered, her eyes still fixed to her phone. "Go change so we can go have breakfast downstairs."

I rolled my eyes at her sudden change of subject but did as she said, I was hungry, besides, I hadn't had much dinner yesterday night because of the party.

When we got to the kitchen there were a few students already there, most of them had tired faces caused by last night's party. We hadn't even started college yet we were already tired of the student life.

I walked to Nic and I's food shelf and grabbed some Cheerios, then served myself a bowl of chocolated milk. I gazed outside, the room was surrounded by big windows with a little terrace facing the street that let the morning sun come through perfectly. Once again, in front of me, Pacific National Bank's building. I wondered if Scott was already there, but shook my head immediately trying to get him out of my mind.

Suddenly, Nic sat in front of me placing a glass filled with orange juice on top of the table with one hand and shaking some magazine excitedly with the other.

"Guess what?" She squealed loudly taking a seat in front of me, making half of the room stare at us for a few seconds. I gave them half a smile and shrugged at Nic.

"Scott Blackstone will be attending some movie premier tonight!" She continued, lowering her voice tone this time.

I rolled my eyes. "I really don't care, Nic."

"But it's happening right next to the park. It's destiny, Mel! You guys are meant to be." She grabbed my shoulder tightly, her eyes sparkling.

My heart raced for a moment.

"It's not destiny. Cambridge is not that big of a city." I whined. "And please, quit talking about Scott, I have nothing to do with him now."

"But I will. By next week, he'll be my boss and my sophomore delegate," She pointed out smirking.

"I thought he studied law," I murmured taking my mind back to one of the first conversations we had.

"He did," Nic said. "But a few months after the kidnap he switched degrees. With his parents missing, someone had to take care of the business. And as much as he enjoyed studying law and longing to be a lawyer, his dreams would have to wait."

I stared at her in awe. "How do you even know all of this?"

She grinned. "I read lots of magazines."

As I poured some more milk in my bowl I noticed the box was nearly empty, it was the last one.

"We're running out of milk." I announced.

"I'd go buy some more but I have to head over Campus right now to fill some applications," She excused herself with a little smile.

I sighed. "Then I'll go. Do you want anything else?"

She scratched her chin and dropped my gaze thinking, "Fruit!" She exclaimed while snapping her fingers. "You should buy some fruit!"

I nodded at her request and left the room silently heading over my room to grab my wallet. As I walked out of the building I distinguished the grocery store right next to Scott's building.

I cursed under my breath and crossed the road.

The store had a Starbucks Coffee attached to it, I took a look at my wallet and decided I'd buy something later if I turned out to have some more money left. Even though I tried not to, my mind couldn't help but play on it the different scenarios of meeting Scott in this precise moment. What if I crossed the aisle just to find him grocery shopping? Would I greet him with a hug? Would I shake his hand?

When I finally bought what I needed I was happy to learn I still had a few bucks left. I headed over the coffee shop and stopped walking at the end of the line, taking a close look at the menu, deciding if it would be better to have either coffee or tea.

As I was immersed in my internal debate, someone poked my shoulder, causing me to turn around annoyed because of the interruption just to find Scott's face in front of me.

I gasped in surprise, couldn't say a word. It had been so long, painful months trying to get his image out of my daily thoughts yet here he was again. Messing up my life, as always.

It was in that precise moment, staring into his dark piercing eyes, when I realized I had missed him. A lot. And choosing to forget him had been an awful move. Our memories together had been the most sweet and pure, my stupid self had decided tearing them away would help me get over him, skip the painful heartbreak. But sometimes, that's what you need to keep going without losing your mind. A heart break.

He was staring at me amusingly, waiting for me to say something, but I guess he noticed I wasn't going to say anything because his lips parted slightly as he said:

"Long time no see, Melissa."
