-Y/N's POV-
We'd finished our mission and Shinya and I were now going to find the rest of the Guren squad.
"Wasn't their mission in the subway?" I asked,
"Yes, imagine if they're still there." Shinya chuckled,
I giggled, "Who would've thought?"
We eventually found the tube and walked down the steps quietly,
I smirked as I heard the clashing of swords and summoned my gun, instantly positioning it.
Shinya gave me a look but I ignored him as Guren and the vampire came into site.
Neither had noticed me and Shinya enter, however this was more difficult than I thought as they were both moving at a fast pace.
Shinya tried to get closer but I put my hand out to stop him,
"Y/N I know you're under this influence that Guren is strong as hell but I think we sh-" he hissed,
"Just wait." I hissed back
I could tell Guren was running out of energy as his swings began to get slightly sloppy and the vampire must have noticed this too as he before to fight harder.
Guren suddenly stumbled falling on his back and the vampire pounced, however Guren's sword was out to defend him.
While the vampire was on top of Guren I shot the bullet. It was then both became aware of our presence.
Fortunately, it was too late for the vampire, as when he tried to manoeuvre away the bullet was already through his head.
He fell to the side as he disintegrated.
I sighed in satisfaction as my gun returned and looked at Guren who hadn't bothered to move from his position.
"Well, almighty Guren I think all my training has paid off." He scoffed at that,
"You were trained by the best!" Shinya interjected,
"Hmph." I ignored him and knelt next to Guren, "Alright grumpy, you'll get 'em next time. It's time to get up." I pat his shoulder and got back up,
"Hey, where are the others?" Shinya asked,
"How nice of you to be concerned, Lord Shinya" Mito, Sayuri, Shigure and Norito entered,
"Wait, Guren took on that vampire alone?" I looked at him and he looked at me,
"And what about it," he shrugged finally picking himself up and dusting himself off,
I bellowed, "That ego! Sorry to remind you but you kind of nearly died."
"Guren, you said you had it covered..."
"I did."
"You did not." Me and Shinya chorused,
"You forced us to go only to be spewing lies." Norito muttered and Sayuri rubbed her brows.
"Did you guys finish your mission?" Guren said ignoring Norito's protests,
"Without a scratch!" Shinya boasted,
"Tsk." Guren turned to Shigure,
"We eliminated the targets, master Guren." she confirmed,
"Wonderful, then shall we move on?" He said in a chilling tone,
"Move on?" Mito questioned,
"Yes."
"Oh, master Guren, we forgot to inform you that Shinoa's squad completed their assigned mission." Sayuri interrupted,
"Oh, so the brats done it, huh?" I rolled my eyes at the name he gave them, "Alright then, it's only fair they join in this fight."
"I'll let them know, sir." Sayuri rushed off to tell the messenger,
"So, we've killed quite a few of the progenitors. I think it's time we also joined the proper war."
"Hm, good call!" Shinya smirked,

"You're just going to stand there, huh?" I gave him a sour look, "After looking like a badass with your 'It's time we joined the proper war' speech, you're really going to stand there?" I lowered my voice to imitate Guren's and he looked at me amused,
"Why are you here lecturing me? Shouldn't you also be fighting the vampires?"
"You're saying that as if you weren't watching the vampires like they were fish, how unprofessional Lieutenant Colonel!"
Guren smiled, before he grabbed my wrist and pulled me towards him,
"What the he-?" I exclaimed but I saw him unsheathe his sword so I could only guess what was happening,
I turned my head to see what was happening as I collided with Guren's chest, he put his arm on my shoulders and turned slightly as he finished off the vampire, before putting his sword back in its sheath,
"Now, you see what happens when you're not aware of your surroundings?" He said with his arm still around my shoulders,
I scoffed, wriggling myself away from him, "Don't give me that when you were only paying attention to Sir Grey-hair down there, who even the hell is he? You're acting like his cree-"
"What a temper, Y/N! Maybe I should've just let the vampire have you..." he rubbed his temple and I stopped ranting my mouth open in shock,
"Hmph! They'll get to you first! Come on we're going down there and you're going to stop staring at that weirdo." I grabbed his wrist and pulled him, along with me, even though he was stronger than me he didn't resist,
"How rude! He's quite an attractive fellow, he is."
"I'd say you can smash him later but you're going to have to kill him."
"Why do I have to kill him? He's the seventh progenitor, you know."
My mouth hung open and I abruptly turned around, "SEVENTH PROGENITOR? So you're after his money, is that it?"
"How did you know he's rich? Also what a horrible accusation..."
"Look at him, Guren! What kind of broke person dresses like that and his status- OF COURSE HE'S RICH YOU PROBABLY ARE TOO!"
Guren guffawed "Of course I am, you're talking as if you aren't either!"
"I'm not! Have you forgo-"
"Gosh, where did all this noise come from."
Me and Guren stopped to find 3 vampires in front of us.
2 females with extremely large boobs; one with long, blonde, spiralling hair, red eyes and a serious demeanour about her, another with short purple hair, red eyes, and a childlike aura.
The man they accompanied had red bangs and long black hair kept in a braid, broad shoulders and casual red eyes.
"There's a whole war going on and this is the only noise you notice?" I raised an eyebrow,
"Humans, huh?" He looked at us amused,
"Yeah, who are you?" I shot back still in the mood to argue,
"According to intel that's Crowley Eusford, the 13th progenitor." Guren didn't bother lower his voice, vampires did have excellent hearing after all,
"Correct." He smiled,
"Hey, do you know who we are?" The short, purple-haired vampire asked,
"Do I need to?" Guren replied nonchalantly, however I could tell he was faking ignorance as he scanned them and silently confirmed with himself who the other two vampires were.
"It's not like we bumped into ordinary humans though," Crowley added, "Chess, do you know who these humans are?"
"Why should I, when that arrogant one doesn't care to know us." She crossed her arms and pouted,
"Now, now, that arrogant man is Guren Ichinose and that angry young lady is Y/N L/N"
"So you're from the L/N family?" The blonde vampire spoke, she had an icy tone,
"Yes, I am."
"Well I've never heard of you." Chess inputed abruptly,
"Likewise." I stared at her as she rolled her eyes,
"Well, I didn't expect to see you, Gu-"
"IT'S THAT VAMPIRE AGAIN!" A loud shout came from behind Guren and nor me or Guren had to turn around to know who it was, I sighed loudly,
"That boy...perhaps he followed us here." Crowley said smiling, slightly exasperated,
Yu had seemed to already made up his mind that he was going to finish whatever it is he started with this vampire,
"Yu stop." Guren ordered,
Yu, however, did not and carried on sprinting for the vampire who just stared at him and didn't bother getting out a weapon, although his servants had already gotten into a fighting stance,
Yu ran past Guren but Guren grabbed him by his uniform collar, "I told you to stop." He said throwing him back, Yu fell on the floor and rubbed his neck,
"What the hell! I could've had him!" He stood up, angrily eying Crowley and Guren,
"I'm sure you could, kiddo. Shinoa, get him an opponent he actually has a chance against." Guren waved him off,
"You say that as if I'm going to approach a vampire and politely invite them to a dual, lieutenant colonel." Shinoa gave him a bored look,
"I don't care how you do it, just get Yuu away from here."
Shinoa rolled her eyes, "Kimizuki you take him."
He sighed and dragged Yuu by the back of the collar, I watched as Yuu yelled and cussed until he was out of sight. I then turned to face the vampires in front of me.
"Let's go, this is boring." I turned away,
"You're right, I'm sure Shinya could do with some assistance." Guren agreed,
We walked off and we could hear Chess mutter, "Hmph, weren't they just arguing?"
"I guess those are humans for you." The blonde vampire responded,
I snorted and shook my head.

I'm surprised this book got attention and I'd like to take the time to sincerely thank you all for liking and reading this book! I have some good news, I've finished all my exams and I have a few weeks before I go on my 6 week summer holiday- so I'm going to have a lot more time to write more!
