Harry Styles

"Come on babe the appointments in less then an hour, we need to go!" I yell up from the stairs.

"I'm sorry do you have a person growing inside of you? No I didn't think so! I'll be ready when I'm ready!" She yells back from our room, making me roll my eyes.

"Alright take your time," I mask my voice with politeness.

I walk into the kitchen where Louis and Niall were sitting at the table eating. Louis seemed to have toast while Niall had cereal. I walk to the fridge and grab a bottle of water, turning back around to see them both looking at me questionably.

"What?" I break the silence, unscrewing the water bottle.

"I still can't see you as a father." Niall mumbles.

"Well because I'm not yet. You'll feel different when you see me just like this, but with a baby in my right arm." I state while taking a sip from the plastic bottle.

"That's true. Are you gonna be one of those overprotective parents that don't let us touch the kid." Niall asks while putting the spoon full of cereal in his mouth.

"Do you even wanna touch the kid?" I arch my brow.

"Yes." Niall says.
"No." Louis says at the same time.

"Why?" Niall asks Louis.

"Because I don't like kids." Louis chuckles.

"Hey what did my kid to do you?" I furrow.

"Nothing, I just don't like them in general. Haven't we've all talked about this?" He says.

Cutting us off, Amelia waddles into the kitchen- holding her back with her one hand. She was wearing my grey track pants because they were big enough to tie halfway around her bump. And on her top was my black shirt so it was big enough to cover the other half of her bump. Amelia has been modelling my clothes a lot lately because it's the only things that cover her completely. I told her we can go buy bigger clothes for her but she said she's just fine with wearing mine. She apparently didn't want to waste my money on things she only be wearing for the next few weeks- even though I insisted it was fine.

Her hair was up in a loose ponytail and her face held a permanent look of uncomfortableness.

"Ready to go?" I smile ugh my teeth to lighten her up.

"Yeah, lets go before I get too tired." She murmurs.

"Louis said he's not gonna touch your baby because he hates kids." Niall spits out like a child, telling on Louis.

Oh god Niall what are you doing..

Amelia shoots Louis a chilling stare, her eyebrows furrowed and her jaw solid.

"What the hell did my baby do to you!" Amelia shouts, making him widen his eyes at the fact she was actually really pissed.

"Well erm nothing.. I just don't like kids." Louis scratches the back of his neck in nervousness.

"Okay," She begins while walking up to Louis slowly, crossing her arms. "I don't know if it's because you have this 'I don't give a shit attitude' or whatnot, but I have spent nearly nine months with this creation of life growing inside me but you're here saying you aren't even gonna touch the baby because you're too good for her?" Amelia eventually stands right in front of Louis, glaring down at him sitting in his chair.

He looks up at her with wide eyes, frozen and not knowing what to say.

"N-no." He clears his throat, not necessarily looking scared but definitely looking uncomfortable and frightened.

"Niall do you have a problem with my baby?" She turn to Niall across the circle table, making him widen his eyes and drop the spoon in his cereal bowl as the attention of a short tempered Amelia was now on him.

I couldn't help but grin a bit watching her have more courage to speak up about things. I know she's not intimidated by Louis and Niall anymore- now it's like the complete opposite. My sweetheart is running the show.

"No of course not," He spits out immediately, knowing the wrong answer will cause hell to be unleashed on him. "I think everything you're doing up in erm...there is great." He points to her stomach awkwardly, making me roll my eyes.

"Great." She states before walking away, making Niall release his breath. Amelia strides by me with a smile- completely changing expressions.

"I'll be in the car." She says to me before walking out of the kitchen and eventually out the front door.

"Holy shit she's a bit scary man." Niall says in relief that she's gone.

"She's my little angel." I smile, entertained in the fact she's managed to spook both of them.

"She's a bit of a devil right now.." Louis murmurs while biting his toast.

"Yeah well I'm sure you'd all be the same if you had a watermelon taped to your stomach all day everyday. But anyway, we gotta go but we'll be back within the hour." I grab the car keys out of my pocket, walking out of the kitchen.

"Bye!" Niall shouts as I head to the door.

We drive all the way to the hospital and before we know it are sitting in the hospital room, waiting for the doctor to give us the ultrasound.

Amelia was laying on the parchment paper while I sat in the chair next to her. She turned her head to look at me, smiling an bit before bringing her hand up to hold my cheek.

"You're so pretty." She says to me.

I chuckle and grab her hand that was on my cheek, folding it into a fist and kissing her knuckles.

"Shouldn't I be saying that to you?" I snicker.

"Would you rather me use a more manly term like sexy or handsome?" She laughs.

"Well I could help my ego a bit." I joke while leaning forward even more, elevating myself off the chair a bit so I can kiss her forehead.

"Ms. Adams! Great to see you again." Our female doctor walks in with her clipboard, shutting the door behind her and getting to look at how big Amelia now was. "Wow, we are getting ready to pop soon now yeah?" She smiles while walking over to the opposite side of the bed that I was on.

"Yep, counting down." Amelia says reluctantly.

"Mm, getting uncomfortable is see?" She asks her with a frown, making Amelia nod.

"Yeah you can say that.."

"Are you having any unusual pain?" She asks Amelia, looking down at the chart.

"A little heart burn once in a while but nothing crazy. I'm just really uncomfortable." She says calmly.

"Heartburn is very normal, in some cases it just means the baby has hair on their head already." She smiles while placing down the clipboard.

"Not surprising." Amelia turns her head to look up at my hair rather then my eyes, taking her hand and running it through my thick locks. I couldn't help but grin a bit.

"Well I'm gonna give you a quick ultrasound just to check up on her growth, and we will go from there." She smiles while getting the equipment ready. "Please roll up your shirt."

Amelia does what the doctor says, rolling up her shirt and rolling down her pants a bit to expose her stomach. The doctor walks over and turns on the monitor, taking the gel and squeezing it onto Amelia's skin.

"So do we have a name yet?" She asks while moving the stick around her belly.

"Briar." Amelia looks at me with a smile before grabbing my hand.

"Oh that's a lovely name." She smiles while looking at the screen. "And there she is." The doctor directs our attention to the baby's ultrasound, showing us how it's clearer then ever. It was so much easier to see the baby now, she was more of a person then anything at this point.

"Wow." I murmur while hearing the heartbeat.

"She looks very good. Her heart rate is strong, she's got ten fingers and ten toes, and her size is good- she's a little smaller then average but like I said before it's nothing to be concerned about. Although, she isn't really facing the correct way.." The doctor gets a bit more seriousness near the end, making me worry a bit.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"Well it could change, but as of right now- she is flipped so her feet are towards the cervix and her head is towards your diaphragm." She tells us which makes me lost. I have no idea what that means.

"Is that a big problem?" Amelia asks.

"Well no, but if she doesn't flip herself around before your due date then that can make delivery a lot more complicating. You see, the baby's head needs to come out first in order to make the actual birthing part of labour easier." She informs us, just causing me to sweat a bit in nerves. Amelia is gonna be a first time mom, things will be difficult already as it is.

"What happens if she's feet first when I go into labor?" She squeezes my hand harder and can't help but display concern on her face.

"Well then I will have to either reach in through your cervix and flip her around, or rush you into a c-section. It will not be safe to give birth when the baby is feet first, or as we call it breech." She explains some rather scary complications for this.

"But I don't want a c-section." She shakes her head.

"No one typically does, but if it comes down to it then it may be the only option. I'm not telling you this to frighten you, for all we know she can flip around tomorrow and this will be all normal. But if she doesn't then we will do whatever it takes to make sure she's delivered safely, you have nothing to worry about Ms. Adams. I'll obviously be the doctor doing this so you have nothing to be scared of." She smiles.

"Can I do anything to help her flip around?" Amelia asks.

"Sadly no, it's just something she'll do on her own if she wants to. You have time though, your due date isn't for another three weeks. Right now just be focused on the fact that she is healthy and no matter what you'll have a beautiful baby girl in a few months." She smiles at the both of us.

"Thank you Dr. Anderson." Amelia pulls a small smile, despite the worry I can read on her face.

It scares me a bit to know that she could have a complicating delivery, what boyfriend wouldn't be scared of that? But I know it should be fine like the doctor said. I'm not going to let anything happen to her.

"If she like does a handstand for an hour will that change anything?" I couldn't help but ask.

Yeah I was kinda joking to just lighten up the situation, but still kinda serious.

"No, I'm afraid that won't do anything." The doctor laughs a bit while wiping off the gel.

"Ah didn't think so." I swat my knee dramatically, making Amelia giggle a bit.

"I'm just gonna grab some paperwork for you, I'll be back in a few moments." The doctor smiles and paces of the room, leaving the door open. I immediately turn my attention back to Amelia and kiss her knuckles again.

"Don't be scared baby, she'll move around. Like you said, she's always kicking and stuff so I can't image she'll stay in that position for the next few weeks." I try to comfort her by taking my hand and placing it on her forehead, repetitively brushing her hair back with my palm.

"Let's hope." She rolls her shirt down and ties up her pants.
