"mommy!" you hear, as you take potatoes out of the oven.
"is that my baby boy i hear?" you reply, as jonah and hayden walk in the kitchen. "it is!"
hayden giggles.
"did you and daddy have fun at the park?" you ask, as jonah kisses you on the cheek.
"we did! daddy went down the slide with me!" hayden exclaims.
"he did? do you think he had fun?"
"he had fun, i know it."
"well, guess where we're going tonight?" you say.
"where?" hayden asks, as jonah gives him some paper and crayons.
"we're going to uncle corbyn and aunt christina's house!"
"really?" hayden exclaims excitedly.
"really."
"yayyyy! i get to see aunt christina!"
"and guess who else is going."
"who?"
"uncle daniel and aunt d/w/n, uncle jack and aunt j/w/n, and uncle zach and z/w/n!"
"when are we going?" hayden exclaims.
"in a couple hours."
"i'm going to draw everyone a picture!"

the three of you knock on the door of corbyn and christina's house.
the door opens to reveal corbyn.
"hey guys, come on in!" he says, stepping aside.
"uncle corbyn!" hayden exclaims.
"hey, hayden! how are you?" corbyn says.
"i'm great! where's aunt christina?" hayden asks.
"she's in the kitchen, why?" corbyn replies.
"i want to see her because besides mommy, she's my favorite person!" hayden exclaims, and i start laughing.
"hayden, what about me?" jonah exclaims.
"i love you a lot, daddy, but i don't see you giving me ice cream," hayden replies, causing corbyn and you to laugh harder.
"christina! why does my son like you more than me?" jonah yells, walking into the kitchen.
"your son is a savage!" corbyn says.
"he learned from the best," you smirk.
"yeah, and the best is jonah, not you," corbyn replies.
"rude!" you scoff, laughing.
the doorbell rings, and corbyn goes to open the door while you put hayden down to play.
jack and his wife walk in.
"hey, guys!" you say, as they walk in.
"aunt j/w/n!" hayden exclaims, jumping up and running over to her.
"hey, munchkin!" she exclaims, squatting down to hug him.
"hayden is for sure a ladies man," jack says, laughing.
"just like his dad," jonah says, walking back in followed by christina.
"hey girls!" christina says.
"hey! thanks for having us!" you say.
"no problem!"
the doorbell rings again, and corbyn opens it, revealing zach and z/w/n and daniel and d/w/n.
"hey, awesome, we're all here!" you exclaim.
"guys, i drew you all a picture!" hayden exclaims with glee, running up to me. "mommy, where are they?"
"right here, bubs," you say, handing him all the pictures.
"this one is for uncle daniel, this one is for d/w/n, and this one for uncle jack, and j/w/n, and uncle zach and z/w/n, and then uncle corbyn," he says, handing everyone their picture. "and here's aunt christina's!" hayden yells with glee.
"hayden, these are amazing!" z/w/n smiles, and hayden beams.

"jonah?" you ask, stepping outside onto corbyn and christina's balcony.
jonah stands there with his arms propped up, looking out at the la sunset.
"jo? you okay?"
you walk up next to him.
"yeah, i'm fine. just getting some air," he replies.
"jonah marais roth frantzich, i've known you for six years. you're not fine."
jonah turns his head to you, and smiles a little.
"why does hayden like christina more than me?" he asks finally.
"that's why you're upset? baby, he doesn't like christina more than you."
"it seems like it."
"i can't believe you think that. you're his father. he loves you more than anything, jo. he thinks you're the most amazing person in the world."
"really?"
"he always talks about you. about how you're amazing, super cool, how he wants to be like you when he's older, and how much he loves you."
"he does?"
"all the time."
"daddy?" a little voice says.
the two of you turn around to see hayden standing there holding a piece of paper.
"daddy?" he says again.
"what's up, bubs?" jonah replies.
"i made something for you," hayden explains, walking up to us.
you pick him up, and he hands jonah the paper.
it's a drawing of jonah as captain america.
"you drew this?" jonah asks.
"yeah. i drew it because i love you. a lot."
"i love you too, bubs. a lot. you know who i else i love a lot?"
"mommy!" hayden exclaims. "i love her a lot too."
"that's right," jonah smiles.
"and i love aunt christina!" hayden says, causing jonah and you to laugh.
you kiss hayden on the cheek, then set him down.
"aunt christina! can i have some ice cream?" hayden yells, running inside.
you and jonah laugh again.
"feel better?" you ask.
"for sure."
a comfortable silence falls between you two.
"i love you," jonah finally speaks.
"i love you more, baby," you reply, smiling.
"impossible."
