"Midoriya? Aren't you coming with us?" Iida asked as he and Uraraka were waiting at the door in their coats and scarfs wrapped around their necks. "Ah! Sorry Iida, i. But I was asked to help out afterschool by the teachers. Sorry." Izuku said as he packed his things away and zipped his bag shut.
"Very well then. Do try to make it to the station before the weather gets worse." "See you Deku. Stay warm when you leave." With that said, Ochako and Iida left the building as Izuku saw them leave from the window as it was partially covered with ice and snow. Izuku then went to the closet in the back of the room and grabbed the cleaning supplies.
"Alright, lets do this." Izuku said as to pump himself up for work as he started sweeping the floors and cleaning the chalk boards. Then proceding to clean the desk of the entire class and wax the floors. A knock soon heard from the class door as Izuku looked back to see a bear-dog-mouse creature standing outside the door.
"How's the work treating you Midoriya? I hope it's not much of a bother for you." Izuku smiled as he put away the broom and mop. "Nah. It's fine Principle Nedzu. I honestly don't mind and could really use the money." Izuku said as the mouse-bear creature, known as Nedzu, smiled a bit and let out a hardy chuckle.
"Sorry again for asking you to do this sort of work. Our custodian had to leave early for the holidays and we didn't have any volunteers willing to clean the school." Nedzu said as Izuku grabbed more cleaning supplies and headed to the next class nextdoor. "Well it's the holidays coming soon, what can you do."
"True. But why take this part-time job? Wouldn't you rather be spending your days before the break with friends or family?" Nedzu said as Izuku gave a dry chuckle at his questions. "Well, during this time of year, I'm always working for different places. And my mom gets busy during this time due to her work in the hospitals so I don't see her as much."
He opened the door to class 1-B and looked back at Nedzu. "Besides, in the end of it all. It's what I do with the money that makes all the hard work pay off." Nedzu couldn't help but smile at his response and sighed. "You know Midoriya, I feel like you're too kind hearted for your own good. Well then. I leave you to your work."
Nedzu walked down the halls, further escaping Midoriya's sight as he couldn't help but think why he needs money during this time of year. Conciderably a lot of money at that. "Alright, well at least it looks a bit clean than class 1-A." Izuku said to himself as he noticed the floors dusted and the chalkboard partially cleaned. "Hmm?" Izuku then noticed a notebook left on a desk and looked at it.
He turned to the front page and it had the name. "'Property of Itsuka Kendou'. Oh, its hers. Better leave it here incase she comes back for it." Izuku said as he continued on with his cleaning and proceded onwards after he had finished. "Two down. Only twenty-three more rooms to go." Izuku said as he shut the door to class 1-B and headed for the next class.
[Break]
"A Christmas Party before break?" Some of the girls from class 1-A said as they were all together at a café with the girls of class 1-B. An orange haired girl with a side ponytail smiled at their reaction. "Yeah! I figured why not spend some of our class time with a party. Even Momo agreed with it." "Itsuka!" The girl, now known as Itsuka laughed at Momo's embaressed look as the others laughed a bit.
"Well I'm up for a party anytime!" Mina said as she pumped her fist in the air as some of the others cheered for approval. "Alright, then we should decide if we're gonna do a gift exchange and-" Itsuka said as she tried to reach for a notebook in her bag she had ideas of, but found it missing. "Damn it."
"Whats wrong Kendou?" Ibara, one of Itsuka's closest friends asked as Itsuka stood up. "Sorry, but I think I left my notebook back in class. I'll go get it and show you guys." She said as she dashed out of the café and hurried to UA in hopes her notebook was still there. "Should we have gone with her? The snow's starting to fall faster." Jirou said as the streets were covered in a blanket of ice and snow as even large pieces of snow began falling off of tree brances.
"Please be there. Please be there. Please be there. Please be there!" Itsuka said as she ran through the halls of UA in hopes of finding her notebook as quick as possible. She never stopped to notice the somewhat large green afro covered with a bandanna coming around the cornet. "Ow!" "Ahhh!" She then fell back as she heard metal clanging and a small groan in pain.
"Oh! I'm sorry. I wasn't looking and in a hurry- Midoriya?" Itsuka said as she noticed him getting up and removing the bucket from his head. "Itsuka? What are-You forgot your notebook huh?" Izuku said as she was surprised that he knew exactally why she was here. "If your looking for it, it's still on your desk. See ya." Izuku said as he headed to his class to put away the cleaning supplies and grab his belongings.
"Wait, why are you here when everyone's left already?" Itsuka asked as he turned his head back at her with a small smile. "Well it's part of my job. Clean the classrooms and all that. Gotta make money somehow." He said as he kept walking to his class as she did as well. Once she opened the door, she was amazed at how clean her class was. It even seemed to shine and sparkle.
'There it is.' Itsuka thought as she went to her desk and put her notebook in her bags and left the room. "Hmm, the snow's starting to lighten a bit." She heard Izuku's voice as she saw him wearing a dark blue coat and a scarf along with his bag and hands in his pockets. "Yeah, at least it'll be better than when I was rushing over here." Itsuka said as the two of them began walking the halls.
"So, sorry for asking this, but what's in that notebook that made you go through a blizzard to get?" Izuku asked as they walked dpwn the set of stares as she looked at him and smiled a bit embaressed. "Well a few of us had the idea of doing a small Christmas party. And me and a few others began writing down ideas of what to do." Itsuka said as Izuku opened the doors leading outside and sighed, his breath could be seen in the cold.
"A Christmas party? Sounds like fun. Well I see you later." Izuku said as he began walking away and into the snowy streets of Tokyo. "Wait, wanna at least grab a coffee with the others before you leave? We're at a nearby café not far from here." Itsuka said as she didn't want him to leave in the cold, and a way to repay him for cleaning their classrooms spotless.
"Sorry. I've got more jobs to do. Maybe some other time. Stay warm." Izuku said as he didn't bother to turn back but flashed a peace sign at her as he still left. The snow seeming to fall ever gently and glowed among the street lights in the city. Itsuka couldn't help but watch his back soon disappearing in the crowded streets as she wanted to stay by his side for some reason.
[Time Skip: One Day before Winter Break]
"Are you guys excited for tomorrow!" Ochako said at lunch with Iida and the others from class 1-B. "Yeah, this is so gonna be worth whatever punishment Aizawa could give us." Mina and Tooru said as some of them chuckled at their antics. "So we're agreed of a party and a gift exchange. Seems this will be quite fun." Ibara said as she took a bite into her salad.
"Wait a minute, did Midoriya even get a person to get a gift? Or did anyone even get Midoriya for the gift exchange?" Tsuyu said as she looked at everyone who shooked their heads in no. "Come to think of it, we haven't seen much of Midoriya after school have we. What do you suppose he's doing?" Iida mused as he rested his chin in his hand and hummed.
"I did see him afterschool a few times. He said he was working on some stuff." Itsuka chimed her two cents in as she told half the truth. "Interesting, but where is he now? Surley he can't be busy during lunch." Iida said as some of them nodded in agreement with him as Itsuka sighed. The rest of the day continued on with Izuku making his apperances in class and suddenly disappearing after school was done for the day.
"Well, last day of this job. Better give it my all." Izuku said to himself as he grabbed the usual cleaning supplies and headed to class 1-B to start his cleaning. He opened the door and walked in as usual. "What exactally have you been doing Midoriya?" "Gah!" Izuku fell back on his butt and looked to the side of the class as he saw Itsuka sitting on her desk with one leg over the other.
"Didn't expect anyone else to be here." Izuku said as to avoid conversation, but that wasn't gonna work on Itsuka. She hopped off her desk and waked up to Izuku, pinning him back against the wall with her arms to the side of him to prevent him to escape. "Why exactally are you working all these types of jobs in a hurry? Everyone is worried about you." Itsuka said as Izuku looked away, avoiding her teal eyes and with a solem face.
"It's just been how things have been for me since I was 8. It's a habbit. And besides, after I'm done with these jobs, it'll all be worth it." "What would be worth having your friends concerned about you suddenly disappearing after class." She stated as she went closer to him. Izuku finally looked into her eyes and smiled. "You'll just have to wait for tomorrow Itsuka." He said as he gently pushed her away and went on with his job.
Itsuka said nothing as she grabbed her bags and left school. Something about him just makes her heart flutter for some reason. And how he said her name, made her face bright red like a Christmas light turned on as soon as she left the classroom. 'What do you have planned for tomorrow Izuku? And...why do you make me feel this way?' She thought to herself as she boarded the train and sat down.
[Last day before Winter Break: UA]
The day had finally come. Everyone was excited and waited with upmost impatience for the day to end already. It was now the last period of the day, with Aizawa wrapping up his lesson plan. "And that concludes the Battle of Owanaru. Now, break starts today. Be sure to stay safe and complete the homework I've assigned to you. Midoriya, you can leave now." Aizawa said as Izuku nodded and headed out earlier than the others.
"Hey no fair! Why does Midoriya get to leave early?" Mina said as some of the others argued and complained the fact that their classmate left before them. "He's needed in the principal's office. Well, see you after new years students." Aizawa said as the final bell of the day rang and everyone gathered their belongings and headed to the gym.
Classes 1-A and 1-B had gotten approval to use the smaller gym and had decorated during lunch for their party. There was music, lights, food and pizza with chips and candy all around. "Man Midoriya is really missing out on this!" Kirishima said as he and a few other guys were playing basketball and volleyball with some of the girls.
"Speaking of which, why isn't he here? Ochako said as she bit into her fifth serving of pizza. "It's because we were discussing some matters that needed attending." A voice said as the students looked at the gym doors and paled at the person by the door, Nedzu the principle. He gave a light hearted chuckle at their faces.
"Now now. Normally I'd have you all clean up and punish you all. But thank Midoriya for convincing me otherwise. Speaking of which, how long do you plan to sneak in more gifts?" Nedzu yelled at the last part as the others looked at the stage seeing Izuku sighing and stood up. He was wearing black jeans with his red sneakers on and a dark red kimono jacket with a santa cap on.
"*Sigh* You had to ruin it huh? Well I was just finished now." Izuku said as he grabbed a large sack and threw it over his shoulder with one hand. He walked pass the others and headed for the doors. Turning back, he laughed a bit. "If you guys don't want your presents I can just give them to someone else."
As soon as he uttered those words, everyone began running to the stage where the tree was and grabbed their gifts with their respective names. "Woah! This is just what I wanted!" "Sweet! New headphones!" "Aww how'd he know I wanted this!?" Various cries of joy came from the others and Itsuka slowly opened hers and it revealed a sweater, one that she had her eyes on for a while and was known to be very expensive for her.
In the box was a note for her as she opened it. "Sorry. I kinda looked in your notebook and saw a bunch of drawings of you in that sweater. I think you look cute in that. Well, Merry Christmas Itsuka~" She decided to put in on and she was then enveloped in a warmth she couldn't describe.
"Hey Deku, um, we...didn't get you a present. Sorry! We'll make it up to you." Ochako said as some of them apologized for forgetting to get a gift for him. Izuku looked back and smiled at them. "You guys don't have to do that. I haven't gotten a present in eight years, whats one more year to hurt?" The others were shocked.
How could someone like Midoriya not have gotten a present for eight years and be happy about it? "Well can't keep them waiting. Here Nedzu, Merry Christmas." Izuku said as he handed the principle a gift from his sack and left via the window and his quirk into the streets of Tokyo. Nedzu looked back as the students and smiled.
"If you all want to catch up to him, then this gym had better be spotless before you leave." Nedzu said as he closed the door behind him and already heard feet shuffling and tables folding. He looked down and opened the gift Midoriya had given him and smiled. "Honestly, you're too kind hearted for your own good Midoriya. But you do have excellent taste." He said as he left school, with an authentic tea maker with organic Earl Grey tea.
The others finally finished cleaning up the gym and ran after where Izuku could have possibly gone to. Fortunatly, he left a trail of happy children, teens, adults and elderly with gifts and talks of a 'young cute santa' in the air. The followed to a nearby park where children were having a snowball fight with Izuku as the children seemed energetic and cheerfull around him.
"Thanks for the gift's santa!"
"Thanks for playing with us!"
"I'm gonna leave a bunch of cookies for you soon santa!"
The kids cheered as Izuku smiled and rubbed the back of his head. He notices one of the girls signaling him to lean down on him. "What do you want little girl?" She signaled him to turn around as he did as such and tied something to the end of his cap. "I put some jingle bells on you. Can't be santa without jingle bells!" The girl said as Izuku got up and heard the bells chime with the movement of his head.
"Aww thanks. Well you kids play safe, and be good!" Izuku said as he ran off with his sack, barley half empty as he went to various other towns and places. As he traveled, the others slowly left the group to head home. All that remained, was Itsuka with her gift on and followed Izuku to a snowy rural part of Mutsutafu, one train stop away from her home.
"Thank you Santa-san!" She heard from around the corner of a street as she saw Izuku giving away his last present to a family of 10 and left him with smiles and joy filled faces. "Hmm, that took longer than last year. But, my job is done." Izuku said as he threw away the used sack in a nearby trash bin and sighed. "So wanna come out now Itsuka?" Izuku said as she stiffened, but walked out of the corner and walked to him.
"I knew you'd look cute in it." Izuku said as she stared at him with stotic eyes. "So this is what you've been doing for the past eight years?' She said as it sounded more of a statement, but with warmth in her voice. Izuku smirked a little as he leaned by the lightpost he stood by. "I can't help it. When I gave my gift away to a kid who was poor, it felt right and nice. So, I began being the traveling Santa across parts of Japan." He joked, to only have a pile of piled up snow fall from him from the lightpost.
Itsuka couldn't help but laugh at how he always was caught by surprised from the most unexpected things. She noticed something on his cap and her eyes widened and a small smile and blush formed on her cheeks. "Hey Midoriya, hold still for a sec." She said as she walked closer to him as he fixed his cap.
"For wha-" Izuku was about to say, but he froze as he suddenly found his lips pressed against Itsuka's. She was kissing him, and he liked the feeling of her lips. He froze for a bit, but then started to return the kiss. The two parted, with both of their faces that could be argued to be as bright as Rudolph's nose.
She giggled and toyed with his cap, showing he had bells and a mistletoe attatched to the end. "I suppose, my feelings for you can be your gift from me." Itsuka said as she looked away from him, embaressed and face so flushed. Izuku smiled a bit as he wrapped her in a hug and cuddled closer to her. "Merry Christmas, Itsuka-chan." Izuku said as Itsuka smiled I and wrapped her arms around him, further closining the hug more as snow began to fall, illuminating the area in white and bright colors.
It beginning to feel a lot more like Christmas.
