"Eli..." In the midst of meeting I had ignored what had happened before I went off on my own. Was Eli looking for me?

"Eli?" Jay looked inquisitively at me, "Wasn't he your friend? The one you met at school?" My mind blanked. Did Eli know me? Why hadn't he said anything?

"Umm, I'm not sure if it's the same Eli," I said, "I don't have any memories of friends. He didn't say anything though." Jay bit his lip anxiously, thinking over what I said.

"This can't be a coincidence," He finally said, "There is just no way that something like this would happen. We need answers." I nodded, agreeing completely, after all, answers are the one thing I've wanted this whole time.

"I've met your friend, Eli. If I describe him do you think you'll know?" Eli asked, he was so serious when he had to be. I couldn't even imagine his face turning back into that puppy-like grin.

"I think so," I said tentatively. I wanted to know, but at the same the time I didn't. What if he described Eli? What other lies has Eli told? What role did Eli play in this mess?

"I only saw him once so forgive me if my description is not perfect." He bit his lip as he thought long and hard about how to describe him, "His skin was pale. I remember I called him vampire and you yelled at me. His hair was a dark brown, it might as well have been black, and he had grey-blue eyes. He was never very happy. You said that he had a pretty sad past, but never told me any details." My head sank into my hands. I was a fool. I had been played by the one person that I thought liked me.

"Eli, why?" I wanted to cry but I couldn't find any tears. I was sad but happy that I knew there was some truth in this mess.

"Hey," Jay rubbed my back comfortingly, "You need to think past this. I mean we don't know why he chose to not tell you. He could have a valid reason."

"But why?" I cried, "Why should I look past this when I have nothing good to base him off of? I don't know who he is or why his past was so tragic."

"That's why I uhh," Jay pulled a backpack out from behind him and handed it to me, "I brought some of your stuff to give me hope, and well luckily for you your diary is in there." He smiled awkwardly before saying, "I promise I didn't read it or anything." I laughed knowing that honestly I didn't care if he had read it. Why should I care if I honestly don't have anything to hide.

"Thanks!" Holding the bag in my hands I was surprised to find it was extremely light. I figured something that contained every memory I had, everything I had done, and the entirety of my life would have some kind of weight.
