Andrea's POV- May 2017
"Dre, can you look through my thesis one last final time?"
I glanced up and nodded as I saved the final draft of my thesis.
"Only if you do the same for me" I compromised.
My housemate, Oscar smiled and nodded. I live with two guys and three girls, for a total of six people (myself included) in the house. The only ones. It graduating were Rory and her roommate, Jessica. My roommate, Ximena had taken a seminar, so she would not be writing a thesis. Oscar, Brandon, and I chose to write a thesis. Oscar was majoring in Biology, and Brandon in Chemical Engineering. According to both of them, by the time commencement came we would all be experts in three types of research.
"Deal"
He placed his laptop in front of me, and sat across me with my laptop in front of him.
"How's your ankle?"
"A bit sore" I admitted.
I sprained my ankle during last night's game.
"Are you limping?"
"Trying not to" I replied.
"Does Chris know?"
"No, he told me he was going to watch last night's game after his game today" I answered.
"That game got canceled"
The Dodgers were playing the Padres.
"It's raining in SoCal right now"
Oscar was born and raised in San Diego.
"AtBat just announced it like 10 minutes ago"
I looked at him and reached for my phone. He was correct, I had a notification telling me that the game had been postponed due to weather conditions. It was currently raining in California.
"You should probably call him"
"I will, once I finish reading your thesis" I promised.
"So are you and him exclusive?"
I glanced at him and nodded.
"Yes, he brought it up the other night" I said.
He hummed and looked back at my laptop.
"Good boy"
I just shook my head and continued reading his draft.
"You've fixed a lot of the spelling and grammar" I noted.
"Brandon helped me last night"
Our attention turned towards my phone and laptop that began ringing.
"FaceTime call from loverboy"
He glanced up at me.
"Talk with him while I finish this up" I told him.
So he did just that.
"Hey Chris, Dre is across from me reading my thesis for me, so you get to talk with me for the time being"
Chris just chuckled.
"Alright, how have you been?"
Oscar frowned.
"I hate both you and Cody at the moment"
I just smiled as I continued reading.
"Why's that?"
Because the Dodgers had beaten the Padres the past two games, and could have possibly swept them today if it weren't for the postponement.
"You're beating my home team man"
"Sorry about that, just doing my job"
Chris cleared his throat.
"How was the game last night?"
Oscar shrugged.
"The game was good until Dre"
He stopped talking and Chris asked.
"Until Dre was what?"
I sighed and closed Oscar's laptop.
"Um"
I signaled for him to flip the laptop and when he did, I smiled at the screen.
"I'm fine" I assured him.
"Why is your foot propped?"
"It's a slight sprain" I explained.
"How did that happen?"
"If it makes matters better, I caught the ball" I said.
Chris frowned a bit.
"It really doesn't"
I shrugged lightly.
"It doesn't hurt that much, and I'll be fine by Friday" I stated.
"Well now I don't know if I want to watch the game"
"You can still watch it, just don't watch the last save of the game" I told him.
He shook his head.
"So from the looks of it you're in a bus" I noted.
"Yeah, we're heading back to LA"
I laughed as he showed me Cody who was fast asleep next to him.
"I see he's having the time of his life in LA" I joked.
Chris chuckled.
"He knocked out the second the bus started moving"
I nodded and glanced up as I heard something fall in the living room. A cat screech was heard, and Oscar stood up.
"What was that?"
Oscar's laughter soon followed.
"Come here"
I sighed when Oscar walked back into the kitchen holding a soaked Binx.
"I'm going to go give him a bath"
The second Binx heard bath he howled and scratched Oscar.
"Hey now! You're the idiot who got into the mop water"
"You were supposed to throw that out" I called out.
"I'm sorry! I forgot!"
I shook my head and turned to look at the screen of my laptop.
"Binx fell into a bucket of dirty water" I informed him.
"Poor Binx"
"Poor Oscar, he's about to get scratched to death" I stated.
"You said he left the bucket out, so he deserves it"
I smiled.
"Don't give him more reasons to hate you" I said.
Chris just chuckled.
"Who are you talking to?"
He looked up.
"It's a girl!"
I heard Cody groan.
"Dude, go away!"
I smiled as Cody contiuned to complain.
"You didn't let me sleep at all last night, now let me sleep!"
"Poor baby" I cooed.
Chris nodded.
"Joc is a horrible roommate"
"Hey now!"
The phone was snatched out of Chris' hands, so all I saw was rapid movement.
"Dude, give me my phone"
I smiled as Joc Pederson appeared on the screen.
"So are you Chris' girlfriend?"
Chris took his phone back.
"You don't need to answer that"
Cody leaned against Chris' shoulder.
"Hey Andrea, how's your thesis going?"
"It looks like its done. I just need to look through it one last time before submitting it" I answered.
"Nice, are you excited for Graduation?"
I scrunched up my nose.
"Ahh, a college girl"
Chris looked up.
"Go annoy another person"
From the looks of it, he left because both Cody and Chris looked back at the screen.
"How was last night's game?"
"We won" I replied.
"Nice"
Chris shook his head.
"She sprained her ankle"
Cody hummed.
"You should be more careful"
"I'm fine" I assured him.
"You're all the way in Oklahoma, Chris can't exactly get to you"
He wiggled his eyebrows as he looked at Chris, only to groan a few seconds later.
"He's so abusive towards me"
"You know how to push his buttons" I stated.
He grinned.
"That I do"
I've said it before and I will say it again, Cody Bellinger was a little sarcastic shit.
"ANDI!"
I heard the door open, and smiled at Chris.
"I'll call you back in a bit" I promised.
I looked up to see a puffy eyed Rory.
"Yeah, of course. Try not hurting yourself more"
He smiled just as I ended the call.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"I'm going to fail genetics!"
"You'll be fine, I've got some notes saved on here. Tell me what you don't understand, and I'll try my best to explain" I said.
"I need to get better than a B to pass the class"
"And you will, you've got time" I assured her.
She turned towards the hall as she heard Binx let out a light howl.
"And I thought I was having a bad day"
Oscar walked into the kitchen holding a clean Binx.
"You look so ugly little man"
"My blow dryer is in the bathroom. Dry him with no heat" I stated.
"Gotcha"
Rory looked at me.
"How'd that happen?"
"He jumped into the bucket of dirty water in the living room" I answered.
She smiled and sniffled a bit.
"Are you done with your thesis?"
"I think so, just read it for me. Not right now though, right now we're going to discuss what you don't get" I replied.
She took a seat.
"I don't want to retake this class"
"You won't" I assured her.
We had time, her final was in three days.
"I don't know what I'm going to do without you"
"I'll be a phone call away" I told her.
She was finishing up her Junior year.
"It won't be the same"
It wouldn't be the same, I'd be in Los Angeles and she'd be here in Norman.
"You're going to be fine, your thesis will keep you busy and so will the team" I said.
I smiled.
"We've still got our National Title to defend, you're not getting rid of me just yet" I reminded her.
During my time at OU the team had won two National Titles (one my freshmen year, and the other my junior year). As much as I wanted to go back to LA, I wanted to stay here until June because that was when the team could defend our National Title.
