Chris' POV- July 2017

"Are we allowed to be here?"

"Yes" I answered.

I looked at Andrea, and I couldn't help to let my eyes wander. She immediately noticed and hummed.

"Like what you see?"

She then proceeded to wiggle her hips.

"You should wear those pants more often" I told her.

My reply got a cackle from her.

"Wouldn't you like that"

It's a shame she was technically a retired athlete. Those tight softball pants accentuated her body in all the right places. There was more to Andrea than just beauty though. Obviously it was her beauty that attracted me to her, and the attraction grew the more I got to know her. Andrea was the whole package, and I was very well aware of it. Her personality was something I could get used to.

"How does your hand feel?" I asked.

The only reason it took this long to get her out in a field was because she had an injured hand. Thankfully, she had recently been cleared to begin physical activity.

"It's been a little more than month, so I say it feels okay at the moment"

I nodded.

"If your hand starts hurting, let me know. Ok?" I said.

She simply rolled her eyes and nodded.

"Of course"

I set her duffle bag down and watched as she pulled out her catching glove.

"So a few of the guys were telling me that a few of their girlfriends are making the drive to Arizona next week" I mentioned.

"Maddy was actually telling me about that today"

She shrugged.

"It would be nice to go to Chase Field, the food is great there"

I raised an eyebrow and she smiled at me.

"And of course to see you too"

Nice save.

"I wasn't invited though"

She smiled.

"Maybe next time"

"Do you want to go?" I asked.

"I don't exactly have the funds for a flight"

"I'll pay for it" I told her.

She looked at me and began shaking her head.

"No"

"I don't mind" I said.

"You don't need to spend that kind of money on me"

My family had met her last week and they adored her. Both mom and dad told me she was a keeper.

"We haven't been going out that long Chris, it just doesn't feel right"

I slowly nodded..

"You're mad"

"I'm not, just a bit bummed out" I admitted.

"Chris, I can't exactly drop everything for you"

"I know that" I told her.

She had a job and soon she'd be balancing school and work.

"I like that you have your own thing, but it just sucks" I replied.

She made her way over and I offered her a smile as she hugged my waist.

"When will you guys be in Arizona?"

"From the 8th to the 10th of August" I answered.

Shifting a bit, she pulled her phone out of her butt pocket. I looked down at the screen as she opened up her calendar and scrolled to the month of October.

"Uncle Derek's birthday is on the 9th"

I nodded slowly as she looked up at me.

"And you will not guess where he lives"

Hopefully not in California.

"He lives in Phoenix"

"I would not mind meeting him" I stated.

If that meant she would be in Arizona then I'd meet anyone. I had already met her dad, and he approved of hem. Although, I'm sure her Uncle was like a second father figure.

"Dad and I need to get the days off work, so I'll probably work this weekend to make up for it"

I nodded.

"So enough about that, you're about to witness how much I suck"

I laughed as I watched her clap her hands together.

"I could use all the pointers I can get" I told her as she walked away from me.

She laughed and turned to look at me.

"Your swing is great, there is no need to change that"

"I sucked tonight" I stated.

"You were fine"

I went 0 for 6 tonight.

"I certainly had awful games during my time in Oklahoma, and I learned that it's ok. It's normal to have bad games, and it's also normal to have great games. No team will every be perfect, there will always be a player who has a slump and that's ok. A player will get better and help the team when other players are slumping"

She smiled.

"So, let's play catch. Yeah?"

I reached for the baseball and tossed it at her. She easily caught the ball and I smiled when she threw the ball at me.

"You can easily replace me" I told her.

she just laughed and caught the ball I tossed her.

"Chris, throw it harder. I promise I won't break"

I threw the ball back at her and smiled when she caught it.

"Have you not showered?"

"I knew you'd bring that up" I stated.

She scrunched up her nose.

"Gross"

I had removed my jersey, and still had on my pants.

"Come on stinky, show me how good at baseball you are"

As she skipped away, I couldn't help but chuckle as I followed her. I was falling for Andrea, and I did not mind at all.
