The Jacksons had a family reunion. Everyone met up at the house and spent the day together. You had fun catching up with your brother and sister-in-laws. Michael enjoyed seeing his nieces and nephews after a long time. Overall, the day was filled and went by fast.
In the evening, everyone went inside because clouds began rolling in. No one expected the rain, but you guys made the best of your time inside. You played games, told stories, and just had fun. You were happy to see that the Jacksons really were one big, happy family. It made you even happier to know that you were apart of this family.
You all laid on the couch and the floor, taking up the entire room. Michael had your legs spread across his lap.
"Alright, we're gonna hit the hay," Jermaine said, getting up.
"Goodnight," everyone said.
Suddenly, thunder roared and the power went out. All of the kids screamed.
"It's okay, it's okay guys," Jackie said.
"I'm scared!" A voice that belonged to TJ yelled.
"We should probably get to bed now. I doubt the power will be coming on anytime soon in this weather," Katherine suggested.
Michael sneezed.
"I'll take that as a sign of agreement. Goodnight everyone," she said.
Everyone giggled lightly and Michael blushed.
One by one, couples and families made their way up to a bedroom. No one wanted to leave in a big group because the room was pitch black. If too many people got up, you would all end up bumping into each other.
Finally, Michael stood up and grabbed your hand. You both began making your way to the staircase. A clash of thunder startled you, making you step on Marlon.
"Ouch!" He yelled.
"Oh, sorry Marlon! I didn't see you there," You apologized.
"It's alright. I should probably get off the floor anyway. I didn't realize I was laying right in everyone's path," he responded.
Once you both got to the bedroom, you jumped at the sound of thunder. Michael giggled.
"It's quite the storm out there! Do you think the children are alright?" You asked, laying down.
"Hopefully they're not alone," Michael replied.
A sudden knock on the door made both of your heads turn.
"I got it," you said and got up.
You walked over to the door and opened it. Looking straight ahead, you saw no one. When you looked down, you saw Brandi with a scared facial expression. Brandi was Michael's little niece.
"Hello Brandi! What's wrong?" You asked.
"Aunt Y/N, the sky is growling! I'm scared," she said and ran past you.
"Uncle Michael?" she called.
"I'm right here, Brandi. What's wrong?" He asked, opening his arms.
Brandi struggled but managed to get on the bed. She crawled across the bed into Michael's lap.
"The storm is scary! I can't sleep," she said.
"Aren't you with Jacki- I mean your father and mother?" Michael asked.
"No, I have my own room tonight. They said they would be a little busy and not to disturb them," she replied.
Michael's eyes widened and you held back a laugh.
Thunder roared loudly and Brandi screamed. She hid her face in Michael's chest, whimpers coming out of her mouth. Michael gently rubbed her back.
"She can stay with us for the night. Of course, I could go tell Jackie to take her. At the same time, I'd hate to walk in and interrupt that," Michael said.
"Yeah, don't even bother," you agreed.
You both looked down at Brandi with sympathetic expressions.
"There's no need to be scared, Brandi. The storm is loud, but watching it is fun!" you said.
She looked at you with a confused expression.
"Come on, I'll show you," you said, taking her hand and walking to the window.
The three of you walked to the window. Michael picked her up so she could see outside. Lightning flashed and thunder roared. She held onto him tightly but didn't take her eyes off the storm.
"It's beautiful isn't it?" Michael asked.
Brandi nodded her head. You both smiled and watched the storm. With every streak of lightning, Brandi jumped less and less. Eventually she stopped jumping and just enjoyed the view.
You looked over to see Brandi asleep on Michael's shoulder. He didn't seem to notice. You smiled, the thought of him being a father filling your mind. You reached over and rubbed her back. Michael glanced at you and looked down at Brandi. He smiled this time.
"You're amazing with children," you smiled.
"You aren't so bad either," he said.
You both walked over to the bed. Michael gently placed her in the middle of the bed and kissed her cheek. The both of you laid down.
"I'm excited for you to be the father of our kids," you whispered.
Michael looked up and smiled.
"You're going to be the perfect mother."
Brandi shifted slightly and you both stopped. Once she settled, you sighed in relief.
"We should probably get some sleep too, huh?" You asked.
"Yeah, we should."
Right as he said that, a sudden moan rang out from the other room. You and Michael turned your heads.
"I love you, baby," a muffled voice said from the other room.
"Oh, Jackie," a woman's voice moaned.
"Y/N, do you still have those earmuffs?" Michael asked.
"Way ahead of you," you replied and handed him a pair from out your suitcase.
You both put them on and laid back down.
"Goodnight, Y/N."
"Huh?"
"I said goodnight."
"I'm light?"
Michael sat up and lifted your earmuff.
"Goodnight, Y/N," he said.
"Oh, goodnight. I love you," you giggled.
"I love you more."
~~~~
"Woo, that was quite a storm last night," Marlon said, walking into the hallway.
"It was," Jackie replied, walking out, "and it was wonderful."
Jackie walked into the room Brandi was sleeping in. He was shocked to see that she wasn't in there.
"Is Brandi up yet?" He asked.
"I haven't seen her," Marlon replied.
Jackie frowned and opened the next bedroom door. He was relieved and confused to see Brandi with you and Michael.
"Hm," you mumbled, sitting up and removing your earmuffs.
"Sorry to wake you," Jackie said.
"Oh, that's alright," you responded.
"I was just looking for Brandi. How did she get in here?"
"The storm scared her, so we let her come in here with us."
"Oh," Jackie nodded, understandingly, "Sorry about that. My wife and I were a little-"
"Busy? Yes, we heard you. That's why we slept with these on."
You lifted the earmuffs and Jackie blushed.
"Well, I'll see you down for breakfast?" Jackie asked.
"I'm probably gonna sleep a little longer."
"Alright, see you."
"See you."
You gingerly laid back down.
~~~~
You felt a slight poke on your nose. Waving the feeling away, you turned over. Something poked you again.
"Go away," you mumbled.
"Watch this," a voice whispered.
You felt a poke in your side, making you jump and giggle.
Suddenly, fingers tickled you all over your sides and stomach. You screamed and giggled girlishly. Laughter rang throughout the room. You opened your eyes to see Michael tickling you with Brandi laughing.
"Stop, stop, stop!" You laughed, squirming from side to side.
"Then wake up!"
"I'm up, I'm up!" You screamed and jumped off the bed.
Michael laughed loudly.
"Geesh, you really had to wake me up like that?" you whined.
"Your reactions are too entertaining," Michael said.
Brandi giggled and you rolled your eyes.
"What time is it?" You asked.
"Ten o'clock."
You nodded.
"Should we head down?" Michael asked.
"Yeah, people are probably wondering why we are still sleeping."
Michael picked up Brandi and the three of you headed downstairs.
