Cloe's POV

Corey and I sat at the top and just talked. He told me about his brothers and his parents and what being in the major league is like. I found out his middle name is Drew and that he likes to blast country music, much to his roommate's dismay.

When he started asking me questions I was hesitant to respond.

He asked me what it was like traveling all the time and getting to grow up with the pros. He wondered what it was like being a twin and if it's the same as if e were just my older brother.

I told him the simple things like how my middle name is Jamison to match Cody's middle name which is James; that my favorite food is sushi and that I completely dislike cake.

"So you and Cody basically have the same middle names? That's pretty sick."

"Yup Cody James Bellinger and Cloe Jamison Bellinger."

"I've never met guy-girl twins before."

"Yea they're pretty rare I guess, and we're both left-handed which I guess adds to the complexity of us."

"So your mom was left handed because I don't remember your dad being left handed when I watched him."

"Yea."

"There are times I wish I were left-handed, but then I wouldn't be able to play shortstop."

"Yea it limits you in the field, but it's great to be a left-handed pitcher."

"Do you play softball?"

"I play at UCLA."

"Oh damn, so you're still in college?"

"Yea but I'm a junior, so I'm done next year."

"What are you majoring in?''

"Sports medicine. I think it'd be cool to be an athletic trainer."

"Yea it would be. You could be a major league trainer."

I laughed and shook my head. "That'd be cool, but I doubt it could happen."

I didn't wait for him to reply before talking again. "The guys are all taking the field. Shouldn't you be practicing?" I asked while trying to find Cody. It wasn't long before I saw him standing below us in center.

"No this is a AAA practice. That's why there aren't that many people there. It's the players that are usually brought up from the Dodgers AAA team and the ones that are on the roster right now. Like Trayce, he's in right field right now, he gets sent down and brought back up because of some problems with his back, so there are times where they send him down because he needs to take things easy."

"God that has to be tough. I hope that doesn't happen to Cody."

"It probably will once or twice, but I've watched a lot of film from your brother's games. He's good. They'll find a spot for him in the years to come."

I nodded, processing what he was telling me.

Corey and I made more small talk until they started doing batting practice. Cody was one of the first few up, and I wanted to watch him.

They didn't give him many pitches, only about 20, but he hit almost all of them well. He sent 4 out of the park and almost all the rest were line drives to the outfield. One was a blooper that fell right in front of second and the other lousy hit was a soft grounder to third. l.

"There's only a few batters left after Cody. Do you want to start heading down? I can introduce you to the rest of the guys before your brother finishes." Corey asked me once Cody was done batting.

I nodded and followed him out. We walked down the hallway and went back down the elevator we had come up in. We walked until we reached a door with a sign above it that said CLUBHOUSE.

He opened the door and without warning, threw his hand over my eyes. I jumped slightly, causing a light laugh from Corey. "Sorry. It's mandatory that we do this if a girl or kid is coming in." I nodded and just walked where he led me.

"Everyone dressed?" I heard him call out. He received a series of yeahs, yups, and one person who called out, "Who are you bringing in?"

Corey finally moved his hands from my eyes, and I was faced with a room full of men. There were a few that looked around my brother's age, and a fair amount that looked like Corey's and the other boys that had greeted us in the beginning.

There was a lot that looked older though. "So you guys know the kid that's playing with us while Joc's on the DL, Cody Bellinger. This is his twin sister Cloe."

Everyone came up and introduced themselves to me. They were all nice, but I have to say my favorite was Kike. He was one of the only boys in the room that didn't seem to be over 6'0 which meant I didn't have to look up quite as much to talk to him. Plus he was amusing.

"I haven't gotten to meet your brother yet." The man that had introduced himself as 'Gonzo started talking. "How old are you guys?"

"We're 21."

"Oh wow, this kid's young." He turned and said to another older guy. His name was Chase I believe.

"I'm going to go talk to Joc. Want to come with?" Corey whispered in my ear since everyone around us was talking. I nodded and followed him through the group of players and down a hall that led to an exercise room where I'm guessing Joc was.

"How come all the players are here if you guys don't have practice?" I asked Corey.

"Whenever a new AAA player comes up that's never played with us before, we all go out to dinner. Are you going to come too?"

"Oh, Cody never said anything about a team dinner. And probably not, I was planning on doing homework tonight."

"Are you sure? These dinners are always fun."

"Yea I'm sure. Cody might be mad though since we'll have to go home first to drop me off since he'll need my car."

"I'll give you a ride home. You can just let him take your car from here."

"Are you sure? I don't want you to have to be late to your dinner."

"How about we leave now? Then you can be back with time to do your work, and I'll be at the dinner on time."

"Sure, I'll just have to go find Cody and tell him."

"Okay. Here, this door takes us to the dugout." We started walking to the door he was pointing to.

"Wait, didn't you need to talk to Joc."

He shrugged before saying, "I'll talk to him later."

Corey opened the door and motioned to Cody who was sitting in the dugout since he was waiting for his turn to bat again. Cody saw him and walked over to where we were standing.

"Hey, Corey's going to give me a ride home so that you can take my car to your team dinner thingy," I said while handing him my keys.

His face instantly turned to a smirk which earned a chuckle from Corey. I rolled my eyes and slapped my brother on the arm. "Here asshole, you're going to need these," I said and handed him my keys.

"K bye Clo love you text me when you get home. Drive safe with her please." Corey and Cody did some weird bro shake then we left.

"How did you guys do that?" I asked. Corey gave me a confused look and asked what I meant.

"I mean how do all guys just have this like secret handshake that they all instantly know how to do it."

Apparently what I said was Comedy Central worthy because Corey was dying laughing. "I have no idea actually. It's just like some unspoken thing between all guys."

We had finally gotten to his car which was really extravagant. It looked brand new still. He wasn't getting in, he just leaned on the car, so I did the same.

"Well, that's pretty weird. You guys are like mind readers." I finally said.

Corey didn't say anything, just looked at me. He smiled slightly to himself. I gave him a questioning look.

"Sorry," Corey said snapping out of his thoughts. "It's just... I don't know. Has anyone ever told you how beautiful you are?"

I felt my face get hot so I looked down because I was too embarrassed to let him see. "You're sweet."

"I hope I'm not coming off as weird, but I was really hoping I could take you to lunch tomorrow." He said smiling slightly.

I was shocked. He wanted to hang out with me? This whole time I had just thought he was hanging out with me so I could let Cody practice.

I wanted to of course. "I'd love to."

His smile got more prominent, and I couldn't help but stare. "Let's get you home now." He came around to my side and opened my door.

"What a gentleman," I said laughing. He gave a goofy bow in return before going over and getting in on his side.

I gave him directions while he drove. When we finally pulled into my complex, he followed me out. "There's no way I'm letting you walk back alone."

"It's still light out," I said.

"Still. You never know what someone might do when they spot a girl like you walking by herself."

I smiled, not really knowing what to say back. God this boys got me messing myself up. I can't help but feel special when he looks at me with those blue eyes of his.

Corey's POV

It's barely been a few hours, but I'm really starting to like this girl. She was gorgeous and sweet and unique and she deserves so much more than the cards she was dealt.

We walked into her building and went straight to the elevator. I couldn't help but stare.

She was so beautiful. Her hair was long on her shorter frame, and it was this deep shade of brown.

You could tell she was a softball player by the way she was built. She had an ass, and I don't mean to sound like a perv but I can't help but stare. I'm a guy it's what we do.

We got to the top floor and walked to the very last door at the end of the hall. "Thanks for the ride." She said quietly; I'm not sure why though, there was no one else that could hear us.

"Of course. I'll pick you up at around one tomorrow. Is that fine?" I talked in a low voice too just since she was.

"Yea, that's fine. I'll be ready." She had to look up at me just to look me in the eye.

"Okay," I spoke but didn't break eye contact. I froze. This girl was already doing things to me, and I had just met her. Everything I thought I knew about what to do when you're falling for a girl disappeared. She had me speechless.

"I'll see you tomorrow." She said before going inside and closing the door.

I should've kissed her.
