I stared at the wall with you sleeping in my arms, just thinking about my past life.
If I was only alive still, I would make you the happiest girl in the whole universe.
You would be smiling everyday.
And you wouldn't be sad ever again.. And maybe I wouldn't be sad either..
I sighed quietly and closed my eyes, trying to think more. Some memories flashed in my mind. They were vague and old. It was from when I was still breathing but barely alive on the inside.
It was March 1th. I was outside and walking home. I just finished crying, I think. I had red watery eyes and I looked sad. I wiped all my tears away and went inside, trying not to cry again. But suddenly a light turned on and some people smiled at me. "Surprise." They said happily. I was scared at first but my fear went away when these people hugged me. I dont remember who they were but I think they were important to me. I looked all around me. There were decorations everywhere. They kept saying that it was my birthday. I was speechless. I didn't think anyone would care about me like that. I remembered feeling warmth in my chest. I think I was happy for once. And back then I could tell.. I was never happy.
I quietly sat down by myself and looked down, shy and afraid. I don't think I've ever had this much attention before. Those people kept going up to me and giving me kind smiles, telling me that they loved me and giving me presents. After a while, I think I was finally happy for once. I smiled and had fun. And I'm pretty sure I've never really had fun before..
The memories ended and I sat up from the bed, looking at the ground. That memory was nice. It's sad that it was my last birthday. I would do anything to be normal again. I would do anything to just be there for you, without any fear of disappearing the next minute.. I looked around your room waiting for you to wake up when suddenly something caught my eye. It was March 1st today. I smiled to myself a little bit and looked at you. Just being with you will always be better than that party.. I don't need presents or attention. I hugged you once again and cuddled up to you. Just being able to love and be with you is perfect.. I kissed your cheek and listened to the sound of your heart slowly beating and you quietly snoring.
