♥Money's POV
~Flashback~
"First see the city skylights shining from my room," I heard singing coming from behind the door, but I'd know that voice anywhere.
"You're such a sight to see in the month of June, beautiful like the moon's reflection when its passing off your skin, and before you let me in," my foot tapped against the floor as I heard footsteps getting closer, youd think that at least today he'd come and open the door without me having to scream his name, but he probably forgot like everyone else.
"I hear you say, it's been a long time, I say Ok K K don't worry I got you. Do ya say.." the door opened and there he stood, beautiful, a smile on his full lips
He grabbed my hand pulling me out of the cold and into his arms as he sun "How bout some foreplay? got that, got plenty, I got you. Do ya say.Play some slow ones
Got that Sade, Al Green, and Marvin Gaye too. To love you gently." he sung in my ear making my heart stop unnaturally.
He kissed the side of my neck as I felt him stuff what felt like a bundle of money in my pants pocket. "Happy birthday my lil island girl."
He pulled away and kissed my forehead "Everybody at the home forgot, well except Joey.... I kinda thought you forgot to."
"Nah ma, I remember your birthday before I remember my own." he went somewhere in his room to get something and when he came back I had counted the money he put in my pocket.
"Five hundred?" I asked rhetorically.
"What's wrong? You want some more? You aint gotta ask, just name yo price." he pulled money out of his pocket starting to count it off.
"No, its just... I dont have anything to offer you and you treat me like a princess, ... thank you."
~End Of Flashback~
I parked in the middle of the street, seeing things in broad daylight that I haven't even seen on the darkest night in the bricks. It was little kids with machine guns hanging from their necks, aiming them at any car that drove by, girls in barely underwear walking up and down the street, the block is hot would be a understatement.
"You nervous my island girl? Say the word and I can have you on the beach with ya feet up in thirty minutes," he pulled the keys out of the ignition "But if you wanna really wanna hang, Imma bout to show you what bosses really do."
He got out of the car and I was low key startled when a boy opened my door. He looked real familiar. "What's yo name?" he looked at me hesitantly brfore turning back to the side.
"Emmanuel," he said as I stared at him from head to toe. Hassan was too busy talking to somebody on the opposite side of the car to realize that I was even talking to ole boy.
"Why you look familiar?" I cocked my head to the side, examining what looked like a barely healed cut that ran down the side of his face.
"Im from the Ja-" I cut him off.
"The Jamaican Mafia right? You were the one staring at me." he nodded looking over my shoulder and past me but I already knew who had just caught his attention "What they call you Emmanuel?"
"Umm, Mannie." he swallowed deeply looking forward, nervous.
"Ace gave you that scar Mannie?"
He nodded again "Y-Yea. He take you real serious. It was my fault though. In this game if you want respect you gotta give it and I disrespected him."
I nodded in understanding before reaching my hand out to shake his "Well, out the Bk they call me Money, but I'm guessin you already know me."
"Everybody know you. You Ace's girl, hood royalty... we look up to y'all." he smiled for a short second.
"Who's we?" I asked curious.
"The whole-" he was cut off.
"Let's go lil baby, its business to be handled."

"Mannie take 'er outside," Hassan said but I was too intrigued to go anywhere.
I love the money that comes along with it, but I think its the heartlessness of the game that keeps me so deeply rooted. Nobody gives a fuck about nobody and its that mentality that got everybody stuck, including him and including me.
"Or do you wanna watch?" I swallowed deeply standing straight amongst the others that watched intrigued as we took in the scene laid out before us. money bags on the floor, drugs... it was all here, vivid, and I love it.
"I want to watch you." he smirked and that's when his true colors started to show and 'Ace' was at his best. He was in his element doing what we all know he does most excellent.
The gun cocked and shots fired as I watched him exucute the two sons of an opposing Caribbean drug lord. The man cried out loudly unable to do anything as he was tied to the chair but watch his two sons lay lifeless.
"Come here Mee." I walked across the blood covered floor to where he was and for a moment in my mind I pictured the floor as an ocean... an ocean that I would swim across any day to get to him.
"Your gun loaded ma?" I nodded not knowing what his intentions were. "I'll give you five hunnid large right now and a half a key if you can get the bullet between his eyes from across the room." the smirk never left his face... that's when I realized that this is all a game to him. He doesn't do this because he has to anymore, he does it because he can and it's fun to him. He just loves knowing that he's the best and that no one can do this better than him.
I gulped before turning around and taking five steps away, positioning myself across the room. I turned back to the man looking him dead in the eyes removing the gun out the back of my pants. Aiming straight at first to make sure my aim wad right, before turning it sideways.
One shot was all it took for me to say I made my first kill, but I couldn't help but feel like doing that one deed had alone sparked something inside of my mental that should've remained unsparked.
♥Ace's POV
~Flashback~
"It's a cold world lil man, stay in school, you don't wanna end up like ya pops." I wanted to say that I'm nothin like my pops, I'm ten times the man that nigga could ever be at just ten, but those words never left my mouth.
"Hassan man lets just go." Jamero pulled on my jacket, but I wasn't goin' no where.
"I just need a shot, I can handle business."
Black sat down on the stoop and rubbed his hands together. "You wanna work my block, you think you a big man?" I hesitated for a minute before nodding.
"Aight then." he pulled a shiny silver gun out of his pocket. "You know what this is?"
"It's a gat." I said rhetorically
"Aight then, I see you been doin yo homework. Check this out. I want you to take this over to fourth street. They got this young kid workin' the block around yo age, a Dominican. Kill em, bring me back his chain and his dough so I know you did it and you can work my block, free of charge."
One shot was all it took for me to say I made my first kill, but I couldn't help but feel like doing that one deed had alone sparked something inside of my mental that should've remained unsparked.
~End Of Flashback~
"The Hassan that I knew feared Karma, he knew that what goes around comes around. What changed?" I inhaled the smoke as she stumbled drunkenly across the private beach before me in one of my t-shirts.
"I still believe in Karma, I'm just not afraid anymore. You shouldn't be either." she smiled turning back to me and the light from the moon reflected off of her eyes.
"Hassan, I've done some fucked up shit." she stumbled towards me and when I pulled her into my lap we looked out at the ocean before us.
"Me too baby," I put my blunt out.
"I'm a good person though, if-if it could've been different, if my life would've been different, I-I swear I would've did shit different... I promise, I put that on everything." she turned around in my lap, and there I saw it, me...I saw every piece of me, good and bad, in her drunk eyes.
"I know love." I pushed the hair out of her face as she shivered.
"Someone wants to kill me because of all the fucked up shit I've done. I didn't mean to, I just, I just, It was the only way." the alcohol made the truth pour out of her like a waterfall. "I knew this would happen though," she laughed "But at least I get to go out on my own to like a fuckin boss." she stopped laughing and looked into my eyes "Hassan?"
"Meela."
"I love you, and I'm not saying it because I'm drunk... I'm saying because if I were to die in my sleep tonight, I need you to know that no matter what I said, what I did, or what you've said or done....You're the only person that has ever had my heart and I will always love you."
********
"Who dis?"
"Nigga you called my girl phone."
"Man, just tell Money to call back asap, it's somebody looking for her." I hung up the phone, looking at her sleeping figure from across the bed thinking about what she said on the beach. What if this shit is the end of her?... The end of us?
The only thing I know for sure is that one is not going without the other. And if we gotta go, we goin' out on top.
