Yoongi has always been a light.
A safe haven.
A paradise.
Ever since they were young.
He was there, listening to Hoseok's troubles.

He lost the joy to smile.

But Yoongi didn't give up on him,
Even after everyone else decided they couldn't handle Hoseok's darkness.
Yoongi stayed.
The countless nights Yoongi stayed up on the phone with Hoseok just to make sure he's okay.
It became a habit to check Hoseok's wrists just to make sure they're clean.
If they were not, Yoongi wouldn't get mad, he would simply sigh, bandage them and tell Hoseok that he can start over.
Hoseok knows Yoongi is tired. He must be.
He weighs Yoongi down so much.
Yoongi was his everything.
He was in love.
So hopelessly in love.
He was sure that if he ever confessed, Yoongi would tell him that he couldn't return it.
The idea crushes Hoseok, but he isn't surprised.
Yoongi was so beautiful, he needs to be with someone that can pull themselves together.
He doesn't deserve a wreck like Hoseok.
Even though Yoongi could just leave him and find someone better.

That was until a urge went through him.

He walked to the garage, rummaging around an old box.
He pulled out a piece of rope.

He tugged it as much as he could to test its strength.
He shivered, knowing that this will be around his neck very soon.
And it will get tight.
So tight he won't be able to breathe.
So tight that it will finally get rid of the numbing pain.
He was sickly excited
He would finally be free.
He found a place he could hang it.
It was all ready. It was going to be perfect.
Finally escape from this world.
A person crossed his mind.

He decided it would be fair to at least message Yoongi one last time.
He knew what he wanted to say, something along the lines of thanking Yoongi of doing all he could, how grateful he was and now he wouldn't inconvenience him anymore.
Then, his phone buzzed
There was a message from Yoongi.
He's outside Hoseok's house.
In an instant, Hoseok was furious at the timing.
Why couldn't he die alone in peace?
He threw the rope down and marched down the steps angrily.
He swung the door open to reveal a startled Yoongi.
Yoongi looked at him stunned.
Hoseok looked so drained and tired.
And mad?
Without a word Hoseok went into the kitchen.
He threw open drawers without much care until he found what he was looking for.
Hoseok grabbed a knife, admiring how sharp and shiny it was.
He gripped it tightly, conflicted with his own self.
Why does it matter Yoongi is here? He can still do it.
He can still end it.
Yoongi ran into the kitchen.
The look on Hoseok's face made him think the worst.
"Hoseok, what are you doing with that?"
Hoseok huffed, feeling tears form in his eyes
Yoongi noticed "what's going on now?"
Hoseok's throat was burning, he didn't even know what he wanted to say.
So many things, so many things are wrong right now.
He should be upstairs dead and Yoongi shouldn't be here worrying about him.
"I-I'm frustrated" his voice was weak and it cracked.
Yoongi furrowed his eyebrows, walking over cautiously "Why? What happened?
Hoseok hates this. Yoongi always asks him questions that he can't explain. He can't answer.
"Everything! Everything is wrong" he yelled out making Yoongi freeze.
Hoseok held the knife to his neck.
Yoongi was panicking at this point, he didn't know what to do.
"Hoseok, please just put it down," Yoongi tried to soothe him" Y-You'll be okay"
"Okay?" Hoseok repeated, "Okay?!?"
He waved the knife around " I've been suffering for years in the hell called life, you're the only one who puts up with my shit. I'm on the verge to ending it all and you say that it'll be okay???" Hoseok asked angrily.
Yoongi flinched at the harsh tone. Hoseok has never been like this before.
Hoseok brought the knife down onto his arm.
"Do. I . Look. Okay?" He punctuated each word with a slit in his arm.
Yoongi cringed and grimaced with each non hesitant slice.
Hoseok didn't stop at all.
He kept going, letting blood splatter on the counter.
Yoongi dropped to the ground at the site "oh God, Hoseok please stop! I'm on my knees, j-just stop it please" he begged in a shaky voice.
Hoseok let out a sob, finally dropping the knife and fell on his knees as well.
There was a unbearable silence between them.
"H-hyung..." it snapped Yoongi out of his daze.
"I-I need help" Hoseok said, looking at him with sad eyes, tears falling.
In the end, all Hoseok could think off was Yoongi.
Even when it was supposed to be over, he still inconvenienced him.
Yoongi took at while to respond "Yes yes, I know, come here" he crawled over to him slowly and wrapped his arms around him.
Hoseok held onto him with his non bleeding arm and crumbled into Yoongi's shoulder.
Yoongi knew that Hoseok was weak right now, so fragile.
He wanted to take away the bad thoughts, if he could.
He always wanted them to go away. But it isn't that easy.
"I love you" Yoongi found himself whispering. He couldn't keep it in anymore.
He has these feelings for years.
Knowing that his love could've disappeared terrified him.
Hoseok sobbed harder before saying the same "I-I love you too..."
Yoongi sighed, trying to keep his tears away.
Now isn't the time.
" Let get you to the hospital" Yoongi said, worried about how much blood Hoseok must've lost by know,
It's been two days since.
Hoseok is under careful watch.
Since he snapped, it's means that his mind was in a delicate state.
They have to careful with what they say and what they do with him.
They speak to him like they would to a child, gently with care and caution.
Yoongi hated that he can't talk to Hoseok normally but he knew it was best.
He was on his way to see Hoseok.
The hospital called him, saying that Hoseok kept asking for him.
He walked towards the hospital room he knew when he saw Hoseok's nurse outside.
She looked relieved to see him.
"Thank you for coming, he's been asking for you all day and he won't take his medication unless he sees you"
Yoongi frowns at that.
They opened the door and Hoseok was on the bed, looking dazed .
A bandage wrapped around his arm and band aids on his fingers.
"Hoseok-ssi, Yoongi-ssi is here to see you" the nurse said gently.
Hoseok looked over and his eyes looked brighter instantly.
Yoongi, couldn't help but smile at bit at him.
He always knew about Hoseok's feelings, even if he never said it.
It was hard seeing someone you care about like that be he had to be strong.
Strong for Hoseok.
"Hyung~" Hoseok mumbled, leaning his head onto Yoongi.
Yoongi made Hoseok scoot over and sat next to him.
Hoseok cuddled up to him.
"Hoseok-ah, don't give the nurses trouble. You need to behave" Yoongi scolded him lightly.
Hoseok frowned "yes hyung, I'm sorry hyung" he said like disappointing Yoongi was the worst thing he could do.
Yoongi petted his hair " you don't have to apologize, just to listen them okay?"
"I will hyung, I promise"
Yoongi smiled at him then looked at the nurse.
She smiled and handed Hoseok the pills which he swallowed without fuss.
Yoongi praised him for doing what he was supposed to.
Hoseok smiled and soaked in the small praise.
The nurse left the room now that her work was done for now.
They sat in silence, most likely contemplating what had happened a few days ago.
"Hyung?"
"Hmm?"
"Will you leave me?" Hoseok asked with wide eyes.
"Of course not, we're going to make sure that you're better, okay?"
Hoseok needed Yoongi more than ever.
There's no way he would leave.
Hoseok nodded, still clinging onto him "Hyung?"
"Yeah?"
They both looked at each other, observing each other's features.
"Will you kiss me?" Hoseok asked quietly.
Yoongi felt a tug at his heart and a pink tint settle onto his cheeks.
"Of course" he pecked Hoseok's lips softly and watched it form into a grin.
