-Y/N's POV-
I woke up to the annoying shrill of my alarm clock and another nightmare which my demon, D/N decided to taunt me with.

Owning a black demon series weapon definitely wasn't easy, I've been having these dreams ever since we made our contract but there is no way I'm going to let him possess me.

The re-occurring dreams were the same, flashbacks from my depressing childhood and then D/N's sly voice telling me to let him do the rest, blah, blah, blah.

I sat up, feeling sour but remembered something which lightened my mood and urged me to get ready. Today was my first day of being a second lieutenant!

I began my usual morning routine, which consisted of taking a short shower, wearing my JIDA uniform and eating breakfast. I did own makeup but I rarely wore it since it will probably rub off during the day and quite frankly I looked good without it, having to follow the army's strict diet and healthcare regulations does help a lot.

As I ate my breakfast, I thought about my first duty, which was covering the class for the newbies joining the moon demon company.

I believe Lieutenant Colonel Guren Ichinose was the leader and their usual teacher, but he was busy today.

I was certainly aware of the higher ranks, I mean it's kind of hard to miss them, but I have never actually worked with any of them, however a majority of my knowledge about them was strictly based on rumours or popular incidents which have occurred.

And yes, Guren just so happens to pop up in the gossip a lot.

Now, don't get me wrong, I hate gossip and rumours, I'm simply not interested, but it is ridiculously common within my family and the type of people I am associated with; although, the things I have heard about him aren't positive at all, but I believe it's because he comes from a low-branch family, which is looked down upon, and so I refuse to swallow the unfair comments and judgements made by people and instead keep my mouth shut to prevent any problems.

I stood up shaking the thoughts out of my head, I should focus on today.

~•~

"Morning, everyone! I'm Y/N L/N and I will be covering your lesson today!" I stated with a small smile, despite knowing the reaction I was about to receive.

The quiet chatting had stopped and everyone fell silent, the light hearted mood was replaced by thick tension and I could feel a fearful aura radiating off the students.

My family had quite the reputation.

I stood awkwardly, fidgeting with my hands behind my back, trying to figure out what to say next, but as I opened my mouth to say something else, the door was flung open and 3 people entered.

First to enter the room was a boy with messy, raven hair and gorgeous, big, bright green eyes. An agitated scowl was predominant on his features and I could only guess that was thanks to the girl who strolled in with a big smirk on her face, who I instantly recognised as Shinoa Hiragi.

Shinoa was the younger sister of Mahiru Hiragi, who was my only childhood friend or the only person I was allowed to be friends with. I had not seen Shinoa since Mahiru had died and I must say she had changed quite a bit.

She had silvery, purple hair, which was tied at the back with a big, plum bow and her bangs framing her face nicely, her slightly-slanted brown eyes held a mischievous glint as she eyed the irritated boy amusingly. She was still as short as I remember, totally contradictory to her sisters tall figure.

Behind her trudged a brown haired boy, he wore a tired smile on his face which I could only presume was due to putting up with the other two. His big, dark green, eyes held a bewildered expression, but I guess he is what others would refer to as 'adorable'.

"Oh, Y/N! Long time no see!" Shinoa acknowledged me, shocked but happy.

"Hi, Shinoa, you have grown a lot, haven't you!" I beamed at her,

"I like to think so!" She said referring to her height,
"These two are new here!" She pointed at the boys.

"Ah, hello! Would you like to introduce yourselves?" I turned to the two young men.

The raven haired boy walked to the black board and slammed his hand on it, causing members of the class to flinch, I was slightly startled but I turned to face him calmly with a raised eyebrow.

"I am Yuuichiro Hyakuya, my business here is of none of your concerns, I am not here to make friends, I couldn't care less about what that stupid Guren wants and all of you should know that in everything we do, it will be me who gets the best scores and the best weapons. That is all!" He boomed, arrogantly and I winced at his confidence.

"Erm, thank you Yuichiro-kun, you can take the free space at the back." I announced awkwardly as he stepped down from the platform and walked over to his assigned seat.

I looked at the brown haired boy, signalling it was his turn to introduce himself, he quietly walked in front of the black board and beamed at the class.

"Hello, everyone! I'm-"

"HEY! YOU'RE THE TELEPHONE POLE FROM EARLIER!" Yuichiro yelled.

The person who he was referring removed the book from their face and abruptly jumped up once he noticed who was talking.

"WHAT THE-? WHAT'S AN IDIOT LIKE YOU DOING HERE?" He yelled back,

"IDIOT? DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM!"

"Yes, an Idiot, a fool, a moron!"

As they exchanged insults I gave Shinoa a look,
"Did something happen?"

"Well..." she chuckled nervously, "It's a long story, you see, but to sum it up, Yuu was suspended from the army and his punishment would've been extended if he hurt any civilians, he encountered Kimizuki, over there, they got in an argument and BOOM! He punched him in the face but Yuu couldn't fight back. When I asked what happened he said it was a 'telephone pole' although I already knew what had happened, because I was watching from a distance, so I just shrugged it off and teased him about it." She smiled innocently and I chuckled.

I was about to reply but couldn't since the two arguing children were now in front of me.

"Excuse me, miss. Why is he here?" Kimizuki asked politely,

"Firstly, if you were paying attention and not sleeping, you would've known my name is Y/N L/N." the mention of my last name made him shrink back but he continued, "Also, I have no idea. I'm here to cover you, I never made these arrangements." I replied cooly.

"IT WAS THAT STUPID GUREN! WHY WOULD HE PUT ME IN A CLASS WITH YOU?" Yuuichiro exclaimed,

"He isn't as stupid as you are, and if you were smart you would've known that this is the Lieutenant Colonel's only class, God, you're such an idiot!" Kimizuki face palmed,

"Excuse me?! Call me an idiot again, I dare you!"

"IDIOT!"

"That's it! I don't care if you're a civilian or not I'm going to beat your ass!" and with that they threw punches at each other.

I sighed, rolling my eyes at the fight happening and I asked the brown haired boy to go ahead and introduce himself anyway.

"Hello, everyone! I'm Yoichi Saotome and I look forward to working with you." He raised his voice so he was heard over the grunts and yells.

"Thank you Yoichi-kun you can sit down now." I smiled at him and he smiled back at me, making his way to the free seat.

I turned back to Shinoa, "So, what do we do about these two?" I gestured to the brawl, in a fed-up manor.

"I'm assuming they could go on for hours if no one stopped them. I say someone rushes to the nearest shop and buys everyone popcorn and we all just sit back and enjoy the show." She smirks,

"Yeah, not happening." I sighed exasperated, I was just about ready to call it quits when the door swung open and an annoyed looking man entered the classroom. I glanced at Shinoa and saw her face instantly brighten up, in a sadistic way, so I could only assume things were about to get worse from here.

"What's with all the racket?" He boomed, I was a little startled by his voice but the two trouble makers didn't seem at all shaken and instead continued to exchange assaults, completely ignoring him. This didn't please him at all.

The man turned to me, he was tall and had messy, black hair with bangs that fell at the sides of his face, if I didn't know better I would've easily mistaken him for Yuu's father.

"Are they causing trouble again?" His hard, purple eyes softened as he addressed me and I felt my heart throb,

"I guess you could say that." I replied meekly.

He sighed and walked up to the two before roundhouse kicking Kimizuki on the back of the head, sending them crashing to the wall behind them.

I winced at the impact and heard a snort from next to me, Shinoa really seemed to be enjoying herself, as she attempted to hold back her laughter.

"You two listen to me closely." He addressed the injured mess on the floor. "I do not want to be able to hear your irrelevant crap from down the damn corridor. If I come back to such a racket, so help me God, I will feed you to the test vampires and I will make sure they suck you dry. Do you understand?" His voice was calm as he said this and the boys groaned in response.

"Good, I do not want anymore complaints about this class."

"Ooh, nicely done Lieutenant Colonel Ichinose." Shinoa grinned, slyly.

"Careful, Sergeant Hiragi. I can easily throw you in that mix. Don't test me." He shot back not at all amused.

"But you wouldn't!"

"But I would."

He walked towards the exit and stopped at the door,

"By the way, I'm Guren, Guren Ichinose. I will enjoy working with you, Y/N L/N" and with that he left, closing the door behind him, leaving me with feelings I'd never felt before; confused, flustered and most importantly smitten, how can someone I'd never met have such an affect on me.

This was going to be a long day.
