Everyone woke up in the middle of the night by screams coming from the boys dorm. You waited for a moment before you walked downstairs. You saw McGonagall entering and the group of students became bigger and bigger.
'That is preposterous Weasley. How could Sirius Black possibly get through the portrait?' She asked.
Sirius Black? That name... you heard it before, on the train to Hogwarts.
'Who's Sirius Black?' You asked Hermione softly.
'A criminal who's escaped for azkaban.' She whispered to you.
'I don't know how he got in!' Ron almost yelled. 'I was a bit busy dodging his knife.'
McGonagall looked at Percy.
'Percy, have you seen Cadogan?'
Percy turned to the portraits.
'He... he's that one.' He spoke while pointing to the top right portret.
'Cadogan? Cadogan? Cadogan?' McGonagall spoke while walking towards him.
You saw a knight turn away from a lady, which he was snagging on one of the portraits and he looked at McGonagall.
'H-How may I serve you?' He asked.
He gave the lady some flowers.
'Excuse me, is it possible that you let a mysterious man into Gryffindor tower tonight?' She spoke while following Cadogan, who moved from portrait to portrait.
'Ah yes, certainly good lady. He had a password. On a little piece of paper.' He spoke while stopping in one of the portraits.
He grabbed a bottle and opened it, accidentally hit two women.
'Which foolish person wrote down the password and then proceeded to lose them?'
Neville looked at the ground. It's always Neville... so sad. McGonagall looked at him.
'Is it always going to be you?'
'Well...' Neville spoke.
'Sirius Black is gone for the night...' McGonagall spoke while hitting Neville softly on the shoulder. 'I think you can all safely assume that he will at some future time attempt to return and I speak for the entire staff when I say: while we take every precaution to ensure your safety, it is incumbent upon yourselves to act responsibly. Understood?'
Everyone mumbled understood in different times.
'Very well then, off you go and remember, act responsibly.' McGonagall sighed.
Everyone started walking away and you stayed with Hermione for a while to wait until everyone was gone.
'And this bloody cat ate my rat!' Ron spat.
'That's a lie!' Hermione hissed.
'It's not and you bloody well know it.'
Ron walked away in anger. You sighed and sat down with Harry and Neville. Hermione joined you.
'I can't believe this...' You mumbled.
'He could have killed him.' Harry said. 'He was right there... he was close enough to touch...'
Harry let out a few heavy breaths.
'He could have killed him.' He then whispered.
You looked at Neville.
'Are you alright?' You asked.
Neville looked up.
'I'm so stupid... I can't-'
'It could have happened to anyone, Neville.' You spoke reassuring.
He got up.
'See you tomorrow.' He sighed before walking away.
-
Harry, Ron, Hermione and you headed outside.
'Beautiful day.' You smiled.
'Gorgeous... unless, of course, you've been ripped to pieces.' Ron sighed.
Hermione rolled her eyes and walked forward.
'Ripped to pieces? What are you talking about?' Harry asked.
'Ronald, has lost his rat.' Hermione sighed.
'I haven't lost anything! Your cat killed him!'
'Rubbish.'
You grinned and Harry rolled his eyes.
'Harry, you've seen the way that bloody thirsty beast is always lurking about. Scabbers is gone!'
Hermione turned around.
'Well, maybe you should learn to take better care of your pets!' She hissed.
'Your cat killed him!'
Harry looked at you and you shrugged.
'Did not!'
'Did.'
'Guys, stop it! We will never find out unless either we find Scabbers or Crookshanks vomits up pieces of him...'
'That sounds disgusting.' Harry spoke in disgust.
'Well... maybe Ron should-'
'Hermione. What did I say?'
She sniffed and sighed.
'Sorry.'
You hurried towards your potions class. You sat down besides Ron.
'Are you okay after yesterday?' You asked.
'Yeah... better than being bloody dead.' He sighed. 'There are holes in my bed... why did he choose me and not Harry?! Not that I want him dead... but still.'
'Yeah... I thought he was after Harry. Guess that I was wrong.'
'What do you mean?! Do you think he's after me?!'
'No! No, no, don't stress. Didn't say that.' You tried.
'Well, this is bloody brilliant...' He sighed.
'Shut up, eyes here.' Snape spoke after throwing his book on his desk.
You looked up. You opened your books and sighed.
After class you walked up the stairs towards the common room. But when you almost got there, you saw a group of students in front of it.
'What's going on?' You asked.
'Neville probably forgot the password again.' Ron sighed.
'He!' You heard Neville say.
'Oh...'
You saw Percy heading down.
'Watch out, please... Excuse me, I'm head boy.'
You walked a bit up.
'Get back... all of you. No one is allowed to enter this dormitory until it has been fully searched.' He said.
Ginny turned towards you guys who couldn't see what was happening.
'The fat lady... she's gone.' She said.
You could see cuts in the portrait of the fat lady.
'I don't get what's wrong... she was a terrible singer.' Ron sighed.
'That's not funny, Ron.' Hermione sighed.
Portraits on the walls cried and you looked around trying to find the fat lady. But you couldn't see her.
'Excuse me.' Dumbledore spoke.
You stepped aside and he stood in front of the portrait. He walked towards it and connected the separate pieced together. Filch turned around and looked around.
'Professor Filch, gather the ghosts to research every portrait in the castle... find the fat lady.'
'No need for ghosts, professor. That's her... right there.'
Filch pointed at a portrait. Everyone started running up the stairs.
'He! Watch out!' Percy yelled.
You followed them and looked at Dumbledore.
'Dear lady... who did this to you?' He asked.
The fat lady stood up from behind one of the pigs. She was crying... clearly terrified.
'Eyes like the devil he's got... and a soul as dark as his name... it's him, Headmaster. The one they all talk about. He's here! Somewhere in the castle! Sirius Black!'
'Secure the castle professor Filch. Rest of you to the great hall!'
There was panic as everyone tried to get to the great hall. You hurried into the common room and saw... Slytherins?!
'And what the hell are you doing here?' Ron immediately asked.
'Professor Snape insisted for us to go here. The dungeons are a great hiding spot for someone like Sirius.' Blaise spoke.
You sighed and everyone grabbed a sleeping bag. You were one of the last once to grab one. You looked through the great hall and saw your friends. But there was no place left.
'Professor Dumbledore... there is no space left.'
'Sure there is... right there, next to mister Malfoy.'
'I'm not a Slytherin, sir... besides, he hates me.'
Dumbledore grinned.
'Who could hate a Y/L?' He asked.
You looked at him. Then he just walked away. Things were starting to get weirder. It was as if Hagrid and Dumbledore knew you already... You sighed and walked towards Draco, who was sitting there with Crabbe and Goyle.
'What do you want Y/L?' Draco asked.
'This is the only spot left.'
You placed your sleeping bag next to Draco's. Professor Filch walked in with a few other teachers, including Hagrid, walked in with some spare pyjamas for everyone. You had to get dressed... between the boys?!
Dumbledore locked the great hall doors, and the pyjamas were handed out. You grabbed one of them and sat down on your sleeping bag. You sighed and couldn't believe that you had to sleep between the Slytherins. The lights in the great hall were turned off.
You got up and tooj off your clothes. Draco looked at you. His eyes slowly got used to the dark and he saw you getting dressed. He swallowed as he looked away. You laid down and sighed while closing your eyes.
-
The next morning, you woke up. You heard and felt a heart beat underneath your head and an arm was wrapped around you. What was this? Who was this? Whoever it was smelled great and the heart beat calmed you in a weird way. Then you opened your eyes and looked up and saw Draco.
Draco?! You panicked... how did this happen?! You swallowed. Luckily, no one was awake yet. You sighed and quickly turned back into your sleeping bag. You heard Draco yawn and stretch. You quickly laid down in the bag and Draco opened his eyes.
His arm was laying partly against your back. He pulled it towards him in confusion. He rubbed his eyes and looked at you.
