Later on, when the period was over, you and Minji left the library and immediately spotted Sumin talking merrily with a few other girls who you've never seen before. One with long dark hair, and the other with brown and short. Just after saying your 'byes' with Minji, you started making your way towards her.
"Sumin!" you called out to her. But when she turned around and saw you, just for a split second, it seemed as if she looked annoyed. Then again, your eyes could have been playing tricks on you. You were a fair distance away from her after all.
"Hey, Jiyeong," she waved at you with a wide smile on her face.
"Hey, did you get my message from earlier?"
"Message?" She raised a brow, "what message?" Sumin immediately went into her bag, rummaging past the books and other things inside to find her phone.
"I texted you about 30 minutes before the period ended."
She finally pulled out her phone and went to her messages after seeing the notification. Her eyes widened as she read the message, but her expression didn't turn out as you had predicted. Sumin then sighed and rolled her eyes. "Follow me."
She grabbed onto your wrist and started dragging you towards a secluded area, away from the rest of the students. With the batting of your lashes, you asked what was wrong.
"Jieyong, I can't come with you all tonight. Do you think that you could reschedule this for some other time?"
"Reschedule? I don't know about that, Sumin. It's not my call. It was the boys who planned this after all. If you want that to happen, you should ask them."
"Please, Jiyeong," she clapped her hands together as she begged. "You're the only one who I can rely on for this. I don't want to miss another chance to get close to Taehyung oppa."
"Like I said, it's not my call," you then saw the pleading look on Sumin's face and evidently gave in. "But I guess I could give it a try." You swung your bag out in front of you and went into the pocket where it was placed. You took it out and started dialing for Jungkook's phone. After a few seconds of ringing, the phone picked up.
"Hello, Jungkook?" You turned away from Sumin. "Hey, I called to talk to you about tonight....No, it's not that I can't go, but I was wondering if we can maybe go another time. ....Well, Sumin said that she'd like to go, but she can't make it tonight."
"Sumin wants to come along?" Jungkook was beginning to contemplate on whether he should make up an excuse to tell you, that Sumin could not come along. Everyone, including himself, didn't like Sumin.
"Did you just say Sumin?" Yoongi asked.
Jungkook turned to him and the rest of the gang with a nod. He pulled the phone away from his face to answer, "Jiyeong says she wants to come with us, but can't."
"So why is that our problem?" Hoseok asked.
"She probably wants another chance to talk to Taehyung," Jin said.
"She's either clueless, and hasn't gotten the fact that Tae doesn't want her, or just super persistent," Jimin joined in.
Jin chuckled, "neither of those is good."
"How did she even find out in the first place?" Namjoon asked.
"Jiyeong most likely told her about it," Jungkook said. They all groaned and sighed on cue.
"Aish, I knew we should've told her not to invite her," Yoongi swore.
"Hyung, we can't tell Jiyeong not to invite her own friend out with us."
"You say that, but you honestly don't want her to be there either, do you," he looked towards Jimin. "Did you forget that she tried to seduce you the other day?" Jungkook rolled his eyes.
"Nononono," Jungkook looked back over and saw Yoongi shaking his head. "That girl absolutely cannot come with us. Tell Jiyeong this: we can't switch it from tonight, because of a special discount thing there."
"There's really a discount for tonight?" Jimin turned towards Yoongi with huge eyes.
"No, dummy," he reached over and smacked Jimin on the head. "Hurry up, Jungkook." He rushed him to get back on the phone.
"Okay, okay," he had forgotten about you for a minute and moved the phone back to his ears. She was calling his name since he didn't tell her he had put her on hold. "Hello? Jiyeong?"
"Where did you go? I was calling you for about a good minute just now. Mm...Really?" You looked up at Sumin, who was beaming with hope. "Okay...I'll let her know. See you later." you ended the call and turned toward her.
"So?"
"They can't change it. Jungkook said that there was some special discount thing going on tonight and that they didn't want to miss it."
"Tsk." It was plain to see that she had caught an attitude. "Jiyeong, do you actually really care if I'm there or not?"
"What kind of question is that? You're my friend and I like spending time with you, so I wouldn't mind if you were there at all."
"How do I know that you didn't just make that conversation up? You probably still have feelings for Taehyung oppa, don't you."
"What the--Sumin, I told you and Minji already, I don't have feelings for him anymore."
"You sure about that? I mean, you said that when you were pissed at him, but that could've just been in the heat of the moment."
Where was all of this coming from? This was the first time that you've ever seen Sumin act this way; and towards you. "Sumin, I'm telling you, I don't have feelings for Sunbae."
Sumin starred you down for a few good seconds before a smile came to her face. "Alright, I'll take your word for it, Jiyeong. I'm sorry for acting like that just now, but I just had to know. It's just that I really like oppa, you can understand that, right?"
"Yeah...I guess," you mumbled.
"Well, I'll be going now. See you later?" She wiggled her fingers at you before sashaying herself away.
"I guess I'll go home then," you tried to ignore what just happened and started on your way home.
When Sumin returned to the girls from earlier, she could overhear them talking about someone.
"Hey, Sumin, that girl that you were just talking to, isn't she that girl who keeps hanging around our oppa?" One of the girls asked.
"She has to be, right?"
"Who? Jiyeong?" Sumin asked.
The girl with long hair scoffed. "So the bitch's name is Jiyeong?" "Who the hell does she think she is, hanging around them like that? She looks pathetic tailing around them the way she is."
"Like a fucking dog," the girl with short hair folded her arms in disapproval. "Do--Do you think its possible that the oppa could actually like her?" Her eyes switched back and forth between the other girl and Sumin.
A devious smirk appeared on Sumin's features. "There's no way. Taehyung oppa told me personally that they're only hanging around her because she's a great fuck."
"What?! That means that Yoongi oppa has fucked that bitch!!" She second exclaimed.
"Yah, stop lying...He really came to you personally?" They zoomed in with smiles on their faces, waiting to hear her answer.
"Of course. Me and Taehyung oppa are starting to get closer to each other every day. I won't lie, it was a bit hard at first, but it was worth it. I mean, just about a week ago, he took me out on a bicycle date with him."
The girls looked at one another, grinning. "You're so lucky~ Did he walk you home?"
"Did he give you a kiss?" the dark haired girl asked.
"Of course, oppa's a gentleman after all." Sumin giggled in delight of her deceitfulness.
"Ooo~ Do you think you can maybe get me a date with Yoongi oppa? Please~" The second girl begged.
"Sumin, that's great and all, but isn't that girl supposed to be your friend? If she were my friend, I'd smack her into next week for fucking someone I liked."
"'Friend'? I wouldn't really consider me and Jiyeong friends. She transferred here at the beginning of the year, and since she didn't have any friends, I took pity on her and started hanging out with her."
"What a fucking skank. You hang out with her out of the kindness of your heart, and she turns around and stabs you in the back like that? She deserves to be taught a lesson!" The brunette huffed.
"Then why don't we? Let's teach that little skank a little lesson in humility." The first girl looked at both Sumin and the second girl with a devious smirk growing on her lips. "I mean, she likes to spread her legs, right? Then why not let the whole school know? I'm thinking photo-shopped pictures and a cute caption."
"That's lame," Sumin quickly denied the idea. "Why not just warn people about her the old-fashioned way?"
"You're right. It'd be too much work to make and put all those papers up anyway," the both of them agreed.
Sumin then snickered, "it's settled then." The girls all exchanged devious looks among each other.
"I'm feeling hungry now." The brunette said.
"Same here. How about we go and get some pizza?" The long-haired girl suggested.
"Ooh~ I haven't had that in a while. Let's go!"
