Castiel

Dean stood silent with an emotionless expression. Castiel was starting to regret his decision of showing Dean. He wanted so bad to read his mind, he knew that would be ruining their trust. So, he waited.... And waited.... And waited. Dean said nothing he had no trace of any emotion written on his face.

After what had to have been 10 minutes, Dean finally spoke up. "What are you, Cas?" He asked quietly.

After a short pause, Cas spoke up. "I'm an Angel."

"You sure are..." he could have sworn he heard Dean say. Cas knew that had to be his imagination. Dean stepped forward, reaching out to touch his wing. Cas quickly stepped away and folded his wings behind his back.

"Um... my wings are very sensitive.... If you touch them in the right way.... Um... I'll just leave it at that...." Cas blushed darkly, looking down at the floor. Dean gave him a puzzled look before realizing what he meant and made an O shape with his mouth.

"Okay... Well...." He cleared his throat and rubbed the back of his neck. "Have you always been an..." he sighed "An Angel?"

"Yes." He looked to the floor. Dean nodded, almost not believing that Cas had been able to keep this from him. "I'm guessing you want the whole story?" He said barely above a whisper.

"Of course I want the whole story. But what I really want to know is how you've been able to keep this from me for what? 6 years?" Dean was angry now. Angry that he couldn't see it. He thought he knew everything about his best friend, but... he was missing a pretty key factor of his life.

"Like I said before, Dean. It didn't become a problem until recently."

"How was this" Dean motioned to Cas' massive, coal black wings. "Not a problem?!" He raised his voice slightly.

"They have been invisible my whole life. Even when I was working in Heaven, they were invisible. I don't know what changed, what had happened, but... the point is, they're visible now, and a problem. I was really hoping you would understand, Dean. Gabriel thought you would. Even Lucifer thought you would." Castiel sighed and picked up his black button up off the table. "I shouldn't have told you. I spent days wondering what you would think." Castiel threw on his dress shirt and started to button it up quickly, avoiding eye contact with his friend. Tears were stinging in the back of his eyes. He refused to let them spill.

"Cas." Dean grabbed Cas' hands that were shaking. Taking them away from his shirt, forcing him to look at him. "I'm not angry. Sure I don't understand. How would I? I want to know your story though, Cas. I will try to understand to the best of my ability." The hunter smiled reassuringly. "If it's okay..." He paused, shaking his head. "Never mind." Castiel tilted his head, curiously.

"What, Dean?" He tightened his grip on Deans hands, urging him on.

"Um..." Dean scratched the back of his neck. "I want to see your wings." Dean blushed, taking his hands back and looking away from Cas. A small smile and blush rested on Cas' face.

"I'll get a shirt with holes in the back..." Cas turned to leave up the stairs, leaving Dean standing awkwardly in the kitchen.

Only moments later, Castiel stumbles down the stairs in a white button up, his wings slightly folded behind him. Dean was waiting on the couch, patiently. Castiel approached cautiously. He folded his wings even more behind his back, as he sat down on the opposite side of the couch as Dean. The hunter moved so he was facing Cas. The silence was thick. You could probably cut it with a knife. Castiel didn't know what to say now. Neither did Dean. Cas' wings twitched behind him. He didn't know what that was about do so he ruled it was probably just the awkwardness.

"Sooo..." Dean started. The awkwardness almost got thicker with that. Cas shifted uncomfortably.'his wings fell flat behind him, hanging off the side of the couch. He rested his feet up on the coffee table in front of them.

"Alright, like I said, anything that is said in this room cannot leave this room." Dean nodded. Cas hesitated. "Alright... Well. 6 years ago, I was banished from Heaven. I don't really remember much from my time up there, but I remember the fall vividly. I don't remember exactly why I was banished.... I think it was because I was working with someone I shouldn't have been.... I don't remember who it was though.... Anyway, I fell and that's how I ended up here. I was later found in the middle of the forest, lost and scared. I found Anna then together we found Gabriel. We figured we'd have to act.... human and live human lives, aside from being Angels. So Anna got a job... she bought a house, we got enrolled in school. And then, yeah...." Cas finished, looking up at Dean who was trying to process everything. Cas just said. Still there was some questions floating around his head.

"Wait, so Gabriel... The Archangel?!" Cas nodded. "And what about your other brother...?" Realization dawned on Dean. "Your other brother... wait, you live with Lucifer?! The Devil?! He's really nice every time I've talked to him.... Well not nice but, nice for The Devil. ARE YOU SERIOUS, CAS?!?!" Dean was bow standing next to the couch, looking at Cas shocked.

"Yes, Dean. Calm down he hasn't harmed anyone."

"How is he here?! He should be in Hell!" Dean raised his voice.

"No, he was in Heaven at the time..." Dean opened his mouth to say something but Cas already knew what he was going to say. "I don't know how he was in Heaven. Someone must have opened the cage." Cas looked to the floor in deep thought.

"So... you never said how he started living with you?"

"He must have heard we were in the area because he just showed up at our doorstep one day."

"So you took him in?!" Dean waved his hands.

"It was Gabriel's idea. Him and Lucifer are really close." Dean nodded looking around. Thoughts were running through his head endlessly. He eventually sat back down with a sigh.

"What about the nightmares?" There it is. The topic Cas has been dreading. He doesn't wand Dean to think he's crazy. But to be honest he probably already thought that. Cas hesitated, looking at Dean unsure. He cleared his throat.

"I think they're memories. Well thought. Since my last one I've been questioning that hypothesis." Dean looked at Cas puzzled. "I usually have the same recurring nightmare. It's always been the fall. But it's changed.... I watched you die, Dean." Cas' voice cracked slightly. The silence after was deafening. Cas felt tears sting in his eyes when suddenly remembering the dream he's been trying so hard not to think about. The horrible way Dean died. It was suddenly a hard image to get out of his head.

Dean pulled out the silver blade from his pocket. It glimmered in the dim light of the small room. He smirked at the person standing opposite of him. The man had blood splattered on his faded clothes. He blinked and his eyes suddenly turned black. He grinned and ran at Dean. In one swift move, Dean blocked the demon and sent the blade through him, making his skin flicker orange. Dean pulled the knife out of him and the demon fell to the floor. He looked around the room, all the demons had been killed and Dean smiled over at Cas, walking over to him. Cas lied on the floor, looking up at Dean, amazed. Dean kneeled down next to the Angel and smiled sweetly at him. Little did either of them know... one demon still remained. The demon carefully and quietly maneuvered through the bodies and suddenly bloods dropped from Deans mouth. Cas washed horrified as the blade rand through Dean stomach. The blade came out of him and Dean fell to the floor next to Cas. The demon lunged for him but he quickly moved out of the way and picked up the blade from the floor and stabbed the demon. Quickly throwing him to the floor and making his way to Deans side. They both secretly knew the hunters fate but Cas would not except it. He moves deans hand out of the way of the wound and started applying pressure to it.

"Cas." Dean choked out making more blood drip from his mouth.

"Shhh... Dean your going to be fine. Save your strength. Dean kept his gaze on Cas, watching him intently. Almost... lovingly? He placed his hands over the Angels. Cas finally looked at the hunter and Dean reached up and placed his hand on Cas' cheek, wiping away the tears he hadn't even realized he'd let fall.

"Cas... I-" Deans head dropped in Cas' arms, his body suddenly feeling lighter. A sob broke through Cas and he held Deans hands, gripping it tightly. He shook his head.

"No..." He cried. "Don't leave me, Dean...." Another sob broke through him. "Please."
