(Gahhhh I'm so sorry! This chapter isn't brilliant, but hopefully the next one will actually make up for it! For now, C35 will have to suffice! I'm sorry again! Enjoy! xx)

CAMILA KEPT HER PROMISE and called me first thing the next morning.

I was pulling a brush through my hair when my phone buzzed on the bed. I probably got two hours of sleep, my thoughts about Diego keeping me up. I slowly answer the call.

"Good morning sugar, had a nice sleep?" Camila cooed.

"No," I answer gruffly.

"Too bad, you certainly won't be getting much anymore," Camila laughs and I roll my eyes. "So you thought about it, and I'm pretty sure you know what I'm about to say," She doesn't ask, she states.

She knew that the reason I didn't sleep because I was wondering if I really was falling for Diego. Of course being in the falling stage was as much as a relief as anything, it meant there was still a chance that I wouldn't fall in love with him. Diego wasn't somebody to love, it would never work.

"You care about him! You are attracted to him! You get jealous! To put it simply –for your young mind– you like him!" Camila declares and I flinch.

"Camila I'm not that much younger than you," I hiss and she shushes me.

"Admit it Violetta, I want to hear you say it," Camila says giddily.

"I'm falling for Diego," I whisper.

Damn, I've certainly gotten myself into a mess.

GO TO HELL.

That was the first thought that entered my mind when I saw him enter the dining hall with Claire/Clar/Clara. He moved away from her almost instantly when he saw me.

I gripped my spoon tighter until I was sure that my knuckles had turned white and turned back to my fruit salad and strawberry yoghurt. I scrape my teeth against the spoon taking another scoop of my breakfast.

Diego sat next to me not too long after. This table had been booked for us. A small two seater that now made me feel like I was suffocating. He takes a large bite of his toast and licks the crumbs off his lips. My eyes involuntarily fall to his lips. I clench my eyes and force them back to the pineapples and apples.

"Can we talk?" Diego asks, his voice cutting through the silence.

"No," I answer bluntly.

"You've never reacted this way before," Diego points out.

Yeah thanks, I so needed another reminder that my feelings have changed for you!

"You've never been so idiotic," I reply, and he exhales deeply.

"Babe," Diego presses.

"Babe, I think your one night stand is waiting for you. Why don't you go entertain her and leave me in peace alright?" I say harshly, my cold eyes burning into his apologetic pleading pair.

When he made no effort to move I got up and left after grabbing a large chocolate muffin. Later today we would be leaving Mauritius. I was glad on the one hand that now I would have my own bedroom but upset that I wouldn't have a whole island to avoid Diego on.

I start walking to the beach pecking at my muffin when I see Alex running towards me. I stop and wave and he grins. When he reaches me he has to take a few deep breaths.

"Not the fittest are you?" I joke and he rolls his eyes, but the smile on his face assured me he knew I was joking.

"So, you're leaving today huh?" Alex asks, shoving his hands in his pockets.

"Yep, I miss my bed," I say thoughtfully and he laughs.

"I was wondering if perhaps you wanted my number so we could talk sometime?" Alex asks nervously.

"That'd be awesome!" I exclaim.

I reach into my pocket grabbing my phone and he dictates his number. Alex. I finish and lock my phone.

"Wanna walk on the beach? I've got another few hours to kill," I offer and he shrugs.

I took off my sandals as we reached the sand. A few broken shells poke my feet, but the cold water that reached my ankles soothed the sting. I was going to miss the beach the most. It was so calm, seeing the bird fly overhead, the waves rushing to the shore, watching little kids build sand castles and jump as the waves reach them.

It was peaceful and beautiful.

"So where's Diego?" Alex asks breaking the comfortable silence.

Fucking somebody probably.

"He's packing," I lie and he nods.

"You two look very happy together," Alex comments.

That's good, that's what we're supposed to come off as.

"He seems like a very good husband,"

Oh honey you're blind.

"He really is. He cares for me," I lie again.

It was strange, a few ago I would have never been able to pull off saying lies as nonchalantly as I did now. They came with ease, I didn't even miss a beat anymore. Maybe that's why liars aren't always caught, they act normal.

The people who thought they saw through the lie were simply #Dielara fans, they didn't actually see that Diego and I hated each other as much as Diego thought he was hot.

But you don't hate him anymore.

It's no longer dislike either for me. His rarely shown soft side had eventually gotten to me, and I enjoyed seeing him genuinely smile, or laugh. I liked his hugs, and our movie nights when we get under the blanket and he has an arm around me -because the blanket is too small-.

They were my favourite moments.

My phone vibrated against my leg and I jumped a little thankfully finding my balance before I face planted in the water. I check the Caller ID and see that's it's Diego.

"Damn, I need to go. It was great meeting you Alex," I lean in and kiss his cheek before running back to the hotel.

Diego was waiting for me outside the room door. He had dragged both our suitcases out the room but he was struggling to carry them all. I swoop in and grab my bag just as he was about to take it.

"Cinderella's back," He says lightly. "Enjoyed your romantic walk on the beach with Alex?" He says, a faint hiss to his voice.

"Yes I did," I scowl, and angrily press the elevator button.

Greg was already on the roof standing next to the waiting privacy jet in all its glory. It was still hard to believe that Diego had his own private jet.

"Hello Greg! I loved the dress!" I thank him and he blushes slightly.

"So you and Alex?" Diego asks as we sit down.

"You and random girl?" I retort and he rolls his eyes.

"Letta I can explain," Diego says.

What was there to explain? She came to drop off his sunglasses and her shirt fell off?

"You don't have to explain anything to me. There's nothing happening between us right? No feelings, no nothing. Nothing to explain then," I say in a rush and he exhales.

"Then why did you react like that?" He demands exasperatedly.

Hah, I can't answer that.

So I stay silent. He tries again.

Silence.

He tries again.

Silence.

He finally gives up and sighs and gets up. He walks to another seat and plops himself down.

The ride was silent. The stewardess would come around, and the sound of her placing plates and glasses on the tables were the only sounds. Diego would glance at my every now and then, perhaps to check if I was looking at him, maybe he was searching for signs of guilt in my expression.

He was disappointed.

We landed on the rooftop of our apartment building and I was welcomed with a chilly breeze. It sent goosebumps running across the surface of my body. It was a good change from the humid air of Mauritius.

The silence between Diego and I continued as we entered the house. I was about to lock myself in my room when Diego's foot appeared in the doorway preventing me from locking the door.

Damn him!

"Babe are you going to stay mad at me forever?" He asks, his face still covered behind the door.

Hopefully! Maybe then these possible feelings for you would disappear.

"Stop ignoring me," He demands softly, an unidentifiable tone to his voice.

"Goodnight Diego," I whisper.

He takes the hint and with a punch to the wall next to the door his foot disappears. I close the door with a slam and turn around pressing my back against it.

Why did he have to sound so genuine?

Fuck he was making this so damn hard for me!

The next morning after showering I walked downstairs to the kitchen. I almost walked in when I heard Diego talking to somebody on the phone—Marco.

"Well she's fucking ignoring me Marc," Diego curses and she laughs.

"What did you do?" Marco asks bemused.

"Well, one night I kinda made out with a girl but I don't think she saw that–" I did, "–and then the next night I was uh, halfway to shagging that same girl and she walked in on it. And the rest of the. . .things that I shouldn't have done I already told you," Diego catches him up.

My heart hurt at the mention of the girl. I could perfectly picture the beautiful girl wrapped in Diego's arms. Sometimes I thought that Diego's body fit perfectly with mine, but seeing them I was no longer sure of it.

"To put it simply, you're an idiot," Marco tells him and he groans.

"I called you for advice, not to tell me something that I already know," Diego says bored.

"How much you do you want her to speak to you," I pressed my ear closer to the door eager for his answer.

"Silence doesn't work in this place," He answers.

It was a vague answer, and I knew that I'd be spending time trying to figure out what it meant.

"Apologise, and I don't know give her something," Marco tells him.

"Noted. Thanks Marc,"

The call ended and I walked in. Diego turned to look at me and I gave him an icy glare. He turned away instantly. I quickly poured cereal into a bowl followed by milk and grabbed the orange juice bottle. There wasn't much, so I tucked it under my arm and picked up my bowl.

"Morning," Diego says softly.

DIEGO WALKED INTO my room later that day.

I was shocked to see him, he had a bouquet of red roses in his hand and an apologetic look spread across his face.

"Letta, I'm really sorry for what I did. If I knew it would have bothered you this much. . ." He trails off.

"What? You wouldn't have done it? You and I both know you would've anyway," I say coldly.

"Well technically I didn't bring her back home, so I didn't break that rule. And I am allowed to date because we both decided that if we liked and trusted somebody enough we should be given the opportunity to date them," Diego says, as if he had rehearsed it.

"It just hurts Diego," I sigh and he sits down on my head keeping a considerable amount of space between us.

He hands me one rose, and inches closer. I put my head on his shoulder, enjoying the warmth. It was a simple gesture, practically meaningless. It wasn't kissing where I felt like I was betraying myself for going so far, it was different.

He was comforting me.

"I've got a banquet, but it's also a dance on Friday, CEOs from different companies will be coming. My father will finally announce who the CEO is. We're also discussing business with that dash of personal life. And well you're my fake personal life," Diego informs me.

I'm his life.

Fake Personal Violetta! Don't get ahead of yourself!

Okay, Friday night. Today was Monday.

"That should be fun," I say, my words dripping with sarcasm.

Banquet equals very poised people and speech. And dance equals me making a complete fool of myself.

Friday night would put our acting to the test. There were important businessmen and women, and if GD Enterprises were part of the group then you could tell these were very wealthy and influential people.

Emphasis on the influential.

Even at the marriage stage we needed as much publicity as possible, we needed people to know that he was married.

Maybe if more girls knew less would fall for him charm?

"I look forward to seeing you in the dress," He whispers in my ear.

He better not be thinking of ripping it off! Or any other girl's for that matter.

Get ready for the next chapter! Leonesca and Carco shall be making an appearance! It is really important that you read that chapter all in one. Seriously. It's more fun filled.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Although DIELETTA is at a small stop because of Violetta. She knows she has feelings for him but she's still trying to push them away—by pushing him away.

And the cover has changed slightly. I hated that you couldn't read the text so I chose a bolder one, hopefully it's better. On that note, I am working on cover changes. This theme will happen in a few months. Weeks hopefully.

Thanks for reading 🙈 Sorry for any errors 💚
