CHAPTER 8
“I love you” he whispered to me.
I took a minute to process what he said. I wasn’t sure how I felt at this moment in time.
“I’ll understand if you don’t love me” he said looking away from me.
I pushed his face back to mine.
“just give me some time?” I asked.
He nodded.
“as much as you need” he mumbled.
I sat up and pulled my knees into my chest.
“where am I going to go? What am I going to do? I have no family left” I said fighting back tears.
Embry sat up also.
“I don’t know about the first two but I know you have family here” he said.
I looked up at him through my lashes.
“like who?” I asked.
“like Sam and Emily and Jake and Seth and Quil and Me” he said
I thought about it for a minute.
“but what if I can’t stay in La Push? What about school?” I asked.
Embry sighed and kissed me gently.
“don’t worry about it right now” he said.
I didn’t like the way his soft voice made my heart beat faster and his kiss made it harder to breath. It was paining obvious that I liked him. Who am I kidding I loved him but there was no way I was going to admit to it not right now.
I pulled away and he smirked.
“what are you smirking about?” I asked when I caught my breath
“I can hear your heart beat” he explained
I frowned.
“So? What does that have to do with anything?” I asked.
He continued to smirk.
“nothing I guess” he said.
I yawned.
“ready for bed?” he asked.
“yeah” I said.
Embry pulled the covers around us and cuddled close. He wrapped his arms around my waist and held me tight.
~TWO WEEKS LATER~
I had finally finished sorting through boxes and putting stuff in storage. It’s not easy packing up a house but I had my family be my side. Sam and Emily said I could stay with them, which I was really happy about. That meant I didn’t have to leave La Push or Embry and I could still go to school in a week.
“you don’t have to go to school” Emily told me.
I frowned.
“why would I not go to school?” I asked
“your going through something tough right now, a lot of changes” she said.
“the tough part is over, it happened, now all I need to do is pick up the pieces and move on” I said “and as for the changes part, it happens you can’t avoid it” I finished.
She sighed.
“I’m not forcing you” she told me.
I looked at her and smiled.
“I know” I said.
She smiled back. Our heads turned towards the front door where we heard a high-pitched what sounded like a wolf bark. It was the boy’s signal.
I smiled.
The boys walked through the door and Emily placed a huge plate of food on the table. I waited for my wolf to walk through those doors and when he did I jumped on him and squeezed him tight.
“Someone missed me” he said holding me just as tight.
“it doesn’t count when you sneak in and I’m asleep” I whispered only to him.
“and why not?” he asked.
“because, I didn’t know you were there and I didn’t get to hug you or kiss you” I murmured inching my lips towards his.
He smiled.
“I hold you and I kiss your head” he told me.
I smiled back our lips just a short separation. He leaned in, an attempt to close the gap.
“get a room!: half of the pack yelled.
I groaned and pulled away, but Embry wasn’t have it. He pulled me closer and glared at Jared, who assumed said to get a room.
I smiled at him.
We could always go to the beach” I said.
He winked at me.
“gosh could you please keep it in your pants!” Paul groaned.
I giggled. I herd Embry chuckle beneath me. That’s when I saw Bella come up the stairs of the porch.
“Hey Bella!” Jake said with a hug smile.
I was doing my best to hide my distaste for the girl.
“Hey” she said smiling back.
I buried my head in Embry’s chest.
“you wana go to the beach?” he whispered to me.
I nodded my head.
“we’re going to go” Embry told Sam.
He nodded so we left.
“I don’t think she likes me” I heard Bella say.
I growled.
“Aella, it’s ok” Embry said.
“I can you right now that girl is going to bring nothing but pain to Jacob” I said
“and why is that?” he asked taking my hand.
“first she’s not a his imprint and she has vampires after her” I said.
He sighed.
“don’t tell Jake that” he mumbled.
“why not?” I asked.
“he get’s really defensive over her” he answered.
“I really don’t like that girl” I muttered.
“I know” he said picking me up bridal style.
I giggled. Embry ran into the woods until he reached a small pound. I looked around wide eyed.
“I found it one day while patrolling” he said.
I smiled.
“it’s beautiful!” I said
He smiled and let me down.
“I can think of one more thing that’s more beautiful then this” he said.
I turned to look at him.
“and what’s that?” I asked.
“you” he mumbled.
He stepped closer to me.
“oh really?” I asked.
He nodded leaning closer. I could feel my already fast heartbeat speed up, making Embry smile. He teased me by taking his time. Slowly placing his hands on my hips and slowly moving closer. I sighed.
“are you going to kiss me or what?” I asked.
He smirked.
“is that what you want?” he asked me.
I nodded.
“then close your eyes” he told me.
I closed my eyes. I opened them a few seconds later when I didn’t resive my kiss. Embry was nowhere to be found. I frowned.
“Embry?!” I yelled
I felt a pair of arms snake there way around my waist. I jumped and quickly turned around.
“that wasn’t nice!” I said slapping Embry’s shoulder.
“but it was funny” he said laughing.
I frowned but he continued to smile. He leaned in and kissed my check. I didn’t move. He kissed his way to my mouth. I still didn’t move. Embry kissed my lips. I didn’t kiss back. He groaned and continued to kiss me. I still didn’t kiss back. I felt his tong run along my lower lip. I still didn’t kiss back or move. He pulled away.
“that wasn’t nice” he said frowning.
I smiled.
“but it was funny” I said
He growled a soft growl. I smiled brightly at him.
“your going to get it” he mumbled.
“oh really?” I asked.
He nodded. I giggled as I started running away. He smiled as he chased me. I ran through the woods.
“Aella! Stop” Embry yelled.
“what so you could win?” I yelled back.
I looked back to look at him and saw he was serious, I stopped running. He caught up to me and wrapped me in his arms.
‘what’s going on?” I asked.
“I smell vampire” he told me.
I froze.
“I’m going to have to phase to alert the pack” he said
I nodded. I stood as still as I could be while Embry phased. I wolf appeared from out behind the tree where I last saw Embry. He howled and came to stand by me. I thought everything was going to be fine until a redhead came out from behind the tress.
