"The mail room?!" she yelled.

Krystal had arrived to Steel Corporations at eight the next morning like Jason had told her and went straight up to his office. He handed her an employee badge and told her to follow him as he brought her down to the department she was going to be working at.

"Yes," he simply replied with his arms crossed.

"Come on Jason! Out of everything here do I really have to work in the mail room?" she whined.

"Krystal, we may be friends but that doesn't mean I'm going to jeopardize my business by putting you in something more important. This way my business won't suffer that much if you mess up somehow. Besides, my dad said you had to work here but he didn't say what job you had to have," he smirked.

He pointed to the bins filled with piles of mail that was already organized by floor number. "See those piles of envelopes? There is a room on each floor that's filled with mail slots. The envelopes should already have the mail slot number next to the name it belongs to. Just put the mail in their correct slots and that's it. Simple."

She huffed. "Fine. If I have to be a mail man then I'm going to be the best God damn mailman you've ever seen." And to think, she had gotten dressed up all cute for this job too. (Outfit at the top.)

The other people who worked in the mail room watched Krystal and Jason from across the room. The CEO never comes there so they couldn't help but stare at him star struck.

"Who's in charge here?" Jason asked as he looked over at them.

"That'd be me Mr. Steel," a man in his mid-forties said and slightly raised his hand.

"Come over here please. What's your name?"

"Paul," his voice slightly shook as he nervously walked over to Jason.

"Alright Krystal, you are going to be working under Paul here. On top of distributing the mail to their slots, you are going to be doing any tasks that Paul asks you to do. Got it?"

"Got it boss," she sarcastically said.

"That's Mr. Steel to you," he smirked before leaving the room and going back up to his office.

"Mr. Steel my ass," she couldn't help but say quietly to herself.

The tension in the room immediately disappeared as soon as Jason left. Everyone visibly relaxed and chatter started up throughout the room as they gossiped about what just happened.

Paul cleared his throat. "Good morning Krystal, it's nice to meet you." He held out a hand for her to shake.

She smiled before putting her hand in his. "Nice to meet you too. So, when do I start?"

He shrugged. "Whenever you're ready. Since there's seventy floors in this building we normally assign two people per every twenty floors and one person would do the top ten floors on their own. I'll have you work with Xavier over there to kind of show you the ropes."

'Xavier' looked up when he heard his name and waved his hand. He was pretty tall with a nice built body and light brown hair. Krystal admitted that he was pretty handsome with a boy-next-door look.

He finished the conversation that he was having before jogging over to them. "Hey," he said.

"Xavier, you're going to be working with Krystal today."

"Got it," he saluted Paul. "Ready to start?" he asked Krystal.

Krystal nodded. "Ready as I'll ever be."

They were assigned to floors twenty one through forty. Xavier grabbed a cart before putting a bin labeled twenty one on the top rack of the cart and a bin labeled twenty two on the bottom rack. Xavier explained to her that each cart was only big enough to hold two floors worth of mail so they would have to come back and get the other floors later.

Xavier pushed the cart as they made their way over to the elevators. They pushed the button for the twenty first floor and got out once they arrived. The slot room was located towards the back of the floor. The floor was filled with cubicles and no one seemed to pay them any attention as they passed by.

"Okay, so now just start putting mail into their slots," Xavier said once they got to the room.

Krystal took a handful of envelopes and looked at the slot number on each of them before putting them in the correct spots.

They worked in silence for a few minutes before Xavier spoke up.

"Okay, I can't stop myself from asking anymore." He put down his pile before turning to face Krystal.

"Shoot," she said, still putting mail in their slots.

"How do you know Mr. Steel? How did you get a job so easily? You know how hard it is just to get a job in the mail room?"

She frowned. "We're good friends. I'm working here for the week because it was a dare from Jason's dad."

"You know his parents too?" Xavier gaped.

She nodded before picking up more envelopes and continuing what she was doing.

"So what do you normally do then?" he asked.

"I'm a nurse."

He visibly paled. "Like needles and blood and stuff?"

Krystal laughed. "Yes."

Xavier shook his head. "Nope. Can't do it. Needles freak me out and seeing blood makes me want to faint."

Krystal laughed again. They continued talking and making jokes as they put the mail away. Once they were done with the two floors, they went back downstairs to the mail room to get the mail for the next two floors. They kept working until the rest of the mail was delivered and it was lunch time. They had an hour for lunch. Xavier invited Krystal to eat with him in the cafeteria, which she gratefully accepted.

Knowing it was Krystal's lunch time, Jason went down to the mail room to ask if she wanted to get lunch together. He couldn't stop smiling all morning because of the mere thought of Krystal working in his building. He found the situation very amusing.

Walking into the mail room, he didn't see her anywhere in sight. He walked over to Paul before clearing his throat. Paul looked up startled from his desk once he realized it was Jason who cleared their throat.

"Mr. Steel," he said with wide eyes. "Is there a problem or anything?"

"No. I was just wondering where Krystal was at."

Paul relaxed. "She's already gone to lunch with another employee. I believe they said they were getting lunch in the cafeteria."

Jason nodded his head. "How has she been this morning?"

"Great. The employee she was working with said she was doing a great job and seems to be getting a handle on things."

"Good. Please keep me posted on her progress and if there are any issues or concerns."

"Yes sir."

Jason walked out of the room before making his way down to the cafeteria. Again, many employees stared at him in awe as he walked around searching for Krystal. It wasn't every day that they saw the CEO.

Jason grew more annoyed as time went by that he didn't find her. He tried calling her multiple times to see where she was but she never picked up. He walked out of the cafeteria and passed a door before he heard cheering and shouting. Stopping, he turned into the room to see what the yelling was all about.

Walking in, he noticed that he was in the game room. Yeah, there was a game room in the building. A crowd seemed to be gathered around the couch near the TV that was hanging on the wall. He stood at the back and looked at the screen. They were playing Mario Kart.

No one seemed to notice him as he continued to watch for a few minutes. His hands were in his pockets and his face was expressionless. They all began to cheer as a player made it passed the finish line and the other players following after them.

Suddenly, someone shot up from the couch and began jumping around and yelling, "I won." Jason immediately recognized the excited brunette.

"What is going on here?" Jason's voice boomed throughout the room. Someone paused they game and everyone looked over at Jason with shocked expressions, fear clear in their eyes. Krystal, however, was not fazed by him at all.

"Jason, did you see? I'm amazing at this game and I beat everyone here," she said with a proud glint in her eyes.

"Really? You're here for not even a full day and you already have my employees neglecting their work."

"Relax, it's our lunch break. Come join us," she said with a smile that Jason just couldn't refuse.

The crowd moved over so he could walk through. He sat on the couch next to Krystal before she handed him a controller. Krystal, Xavier, and another man were playing too. They played the game a few rounds and Jason found himself getting into it more than he thought he would. People cheered as he drove passed Krystal and finished in first place.

"Traitors!" she yelled at them. "You were just cheering for me a few minutes ago!"

"Yeah but that was a few minutes ago when you were the winner," Xavier laughed from next to her. "Mr. Steel got some game."

People began to leave the room and going back to their desks, seeing as their lunch hour was about to end. Xavier had to go talk to Paul about something so only Krystal and Jason were left.

"So, tell me. Why did the big, bad CEO leave his cave and come down to the game room?"

"I wanted to ask you if you wanted to get lunch together. I looked for you but I couldn't find you and you weren't answering my calls."

Krystal ignored the giddy feeling she got when he said he wanted to get lunch with her. "I already ate but we can get lunch tomorrow?"

Jason agreed before getting up and heading back to his office. Krystal left as well and headed towards the mail room.

"Well that was different," Xavier said once she entered. "I never thought I'd be playing Mario Kart with the CEO."

"So what are we doing next?" she asked.

"Well, now that the mail's all sorted, we have to go around and deliver packages to people."

They put some packages on the cart before making their way back up to the twenty first floor. Each package had a cube number on them so they just looked for the cube it belonged to and handed the package to the person who sat there.

It took the rest of the day to hand out all the packages to the rest of the floors. Krystal got off at five and went home. This job was turning out to be not as bad as she had initially thought.
