So guys, we all have our own opinions and different theories about BTS' MVs especially the 'Prologue', 'I Need U' Original and Cut, Korean and Japanese MV, 'Run' Kor. and Jap. MVs. There are a lot of theories regarding the real story behind those MVs. Here, I'll share to you some of the famous theories by some ARMYs about those said MVs. These theories may or may not be the real deal or what the writers of the MVs originally wanted to express to us viewers. I'm not saying these are the truth or closer to the truth because no one knows the truth except those people behind the MVs.
Theory 1

First, we have Taehyung who is sitting outside his home along with multiple beer bottles, most likely hearing the screaming of his parents as they fight by the way he turns his head towards the door.
Not wanting to hear it any longer, he walks away. He's conflicted about his parents, and he doesn't know how to treat the situation, so he gets fed up, and hits a can or two in frustration.
He returns only to find his mother being beaten by his father. In the moment, Taehyung grabs a beer bottle and attacks his father with it. He proceeds to stab him, until eventually killing him.
Shocked by what he's just done, Taehyung runs away to the secluded area of the abandoned pool where he washes off his father's blood from his hands.
That's where the prologue starts.

Taehyung looks at a photo in his hand of an older man holding a baby. Besides the resemblance of the man in the photograph, it's obvious that the man he killed was his father. And with that, Taehyung crumbles the photo in his hand.
After being called by Taehyung, Jin then hops towards everyone but gives Taehyung the biggest and longest hug as they all crowd within the area.
But what we see, is mostly from Jin's point of view.
Jin leaves himself out of most photos and videos, just focusing on his friends.
A handful of times, we see things through Jin's point of view. Several times we are looking at a certain scene, then the camera angle will change, and we're able to see Jin in that same spot with his recorder as if we were the ones looking through it.
Jin takes a photo of Yoongi playfully sitting next to Hoseok who is sleeping. Then JungKook joins and wakes up Hoseok.
After settling down, Taehyung sees the raised platform and stands on it, as if longing to jump into a pool, but it's not full of water, so he continues to stare outwards.
Next, Namjoon writes on the mirror outside, "You need to survive" and walks away to join the rest of the members as they eat and play some of the videos on the projector behind them.
Jin takes out an old photo of the shoreline (the ending scene from I Need U) and shows it to Hoseok. The latter gives a nod after Jin asks "We, should we go here?" and Jin proceeds to show the photo to the other members.
Jimin gives kind of an unsure expression towards Jin's suggestion, but this is later explained in the timeline.
Yoongi keeps lighting the lighter, which will also be explain later in the timeline.
Before going to the beach the next morning, they stop at a gas station and fill up the tank. While doing so, Namjoon gestures for the camera and snaps a photo of Jin with Yoongi cutely in the background, in full frame to be in the picture.
Namjoon then places it in the glove box.
After filling up, the next day they drive to the beach.
Jin records a bit with his cell phone as well as the video recorder.
He takes a photo of all the boys minus himself.
After sitting and staring out to sea, JungKook is accompanied by Yoongi who puts an arm around him and suggest they get the rest of the boys. Yoongi taps on the window of the car and wakes up Hoseok who is sleeping once again.
Once sitting at the edge of the pier, Jin records the other members while Taehyung sees the large metal structure and begins to climb it.
Rather than say anything, Jin proceeds to record Taehyung as the other members yell and gesture for him to come down.
You can even see him still recording in this shot.
Taehyung gives one last smile to the boys before jumping off the edge and into the water, drowning himself.
(This next part is only assumed by looking at the photo book shots of the boys) The rest of the boys all jump into the water to save him but he refuses their help and drowns. (This is assumed because all of the members are seen with wet hair in all photos, maybe giving the hint that they all jumped into the water at some point.)
Example (this also includes every single photo in the photo books):
Now mourning the death of their beloved members, the others go into a state of shock and depression.
Hoseok is seen taking a small handful of pills. Pills that were most likely to treat Hoseok's narcolepsy or excessive uncontrollable daytime sleepiness as seen from the times he feel asleep in the pool area with Yoongi and JungKook during the photo taking and in the car.
He swallows the pills probably wanting everything to end once and for all. **You can't do this to me. All of the things you said are like a mask. It hides the truth and rips me apart. It pierces me, I'm going crazy, I hate this. Take it all away, I hate you** He is referring to Taehyung not saying anything about wanting to commit suicide. Hiding his feelings from the others like a mask. And Hoseok hates that he 'lied' about his true intentions.
He walks along a bridge, perhaps trying to go back to the place Taehyung died, or maybe just taking a walk. **The sky is blue and the sun is shining. So my tears are even more noticeable. Why is it you? Why did it have to be you?. Why can't I leave you?** Hoseok losing it and begins to relapse to the incident, asking why it had to be Taehyung of all people.
He then falls unconscious. With the majority of passing cars, someone must of called about a man suddenly fainting.
He was possibly rushed to the hospital but later died from the overdose. After calling his friends to identify him there, they all wander back to their homes.
JungKook, now having lost 2 dear friends, more lifeless than before, not caring about anything anymore.
He wanders the streets and bumps into two random men starting a fight with them.
He barely fights back, but in the end walks away with bruises and cuts on himself.
He then walks right into the street, not caring that a car is about to hit him, and doesn't move. (Pay attention to the neon sign in the background just to the right of JungKook's head)
In Yoongi's motel room, a red light is seen flashing passed the wall for just over a second.
That light is from the ambulance that is driving to pick up JungKook who was hit just down the street, but not killed. (This is where the motel sign comes in, seeing that the ambulance would have to pass by the motel to get to JungKook)
Overwhelmed by the death of Taehyung and Hoseok, Yoongi is conflicted about whether he should go on. Lighting the same flame over and over again. **You're destroying me. I wanna stop, I don't want you anymore, I can't do it, this sucks. Please don't give me any excuses.**Yoongi is tired over the struggle of trying to survive without them and the heartache it brings. It destroys him slowly and he can't continue on anymore. He wants the memories of his Taehyung to stop so he can live without missing them.
He finally makes his decision. And he ends it for himself.
Jimin, who is also fighting the will to stay alive, is looking through things Taehyung had, memories left from him.
Like the sheet of paper he wrote on within a bathtub as well. Maybe even being a suicide note that Taehyung left behind that Jimin then discovered, causing guilt to flow through him knowing he could of helped him in his time of need.
Jimin burns the note hoping to alleviate some of the pain, but once he realizes he doesn't, he lets himself slip under, drowning himself. ** just tell me you wanna break up. just tell me it wasn't love** He's trying to explain how they are essential to him and how they have become a necessary part of him.
Namjoon isn't seen after this but I'll get to that in a sec.
Jin is seen alone with a plain white shirt, holding a handful of lily petals.
In Namjoon's photos within the photo book, he is draped in all black with a black hat covering most of his face without smiling. Almost as if he's mourning, or going to a funeral.
White lilies are associated with funerals and wakes, and perhaps, Jin just returned from the funeral of Taehyung, Hoseok, Yoongi, Jimin, and JungKook who later died at the hospital from his injuries, keeping some the flowers as memories.
White lilies (also known as white stargazer lilies) represent sympathy. White lilies symbolize that the soul of the departed has received restored innocence after death. This is Jin's way of forgiving them for leaving him alone.
And if you look closely, there are only 5 petals, not 6 like most people think.
He burns them, letting their souls be restored purely to them, and he opens the curtain to let them out into the sky, staring up at his friends through the clouds.
Within the sequence of the I Need U mv, Taehyung is seen walking away from the room while the other's are struggling to survive towards the beginning. As he walks away, the following lyrics play **I'm sorry (I hate you). Forgive me (I hate you)** It's Taehyung apologizing for putting them through that kind of torture and he's asking for forgiveness, but the members are too hurt to accept it, and the I Hate You part is sung by all members, almost like they were rejecting his apology.
Namjoon now with most of his friends gone except for Jin, migrates to a different location of work, to a different gas station so he wouldn't have to see Jin and be reminded of the heartache that he still suffers through.** It goes round and round, why do I keep coming around. I go down and down, at times like these, I'm the idiot. No matter what I try to do, you say it can't be helped. It's clearly my heart, my mind, my chest but, you ask why I can't hear your words. I'm talking by myself again, you say nothing** Even though Namjoon isn't directly reminded of his friends, their thoughts and actions follow him, and he starts talking to himself, thinking that they can hear him.
This is where Jin begins to hallucinate and dream about his moments with them. He thinks back to the last memories he has of them all (the empty pool and the beach) and begins to place himself within them.
Right here, you can see that Jin is somewhat startled by some noise, but it's actually just a bag flopping around, giving you the hint that the area is actually empty, the boys aren't there.
For the entirety of the mv, Jin is seen recording or taking photos of everyone, except himself. He keeps the focus on how happy his members look, and keeps those as his memories.
Looking now to when they are surrounding the fire.
Jin pulls out the polaroid of the shoreline, and once he shows it to Jimin, he looks awkward. This is because this is Jin's memory, and he is aware that Jimin drowned, so it alters the memory in a way that Jin can't control. Since Jimin is connected with the water because he drowned, he is given an eerie feeling about it.
Same thing with Yoongi. With him lighting the room on fire as his death, he is connected with the flame within Jin's memory.
The rest of the boys are happy-go-lucky for those final moments before Taehyung climbs the structure, so Jin tries capturing as much of that happiness as he can.
Once Taehyung starts climbing the structure and the boys start yelling at him to come down, Jin simply records, only shading his eyes from the sun so he can continue filming Taehyung's final moments.
This is where Jin twists and turns in bed, reliving Taehyung's death within his dream.
Once he wakes up, this is where the photo of him and Yoongi comes in. Throughout his days, he mimics memories and moments that he had with them at some point. At one point, they did indeed take a photo like that, but it was in the past.
While Jin was filling up his car alone, he shot the picture himself, getting confused between his dreams and reality, fooling him to believe that Yoongi was there in the photo even though you can see part of his arm on the left side of the picture, showing he took it himself.
He places it inside the glove box and at one point returns to the beach they once hung out at, the last time they were happy together before everything went wrong.
He pulls out the photo and examines it, expecting Yoongi to be there beside him.
It's that moment that he realizes he's alone.
That's exactly it. He can't smile.
They aren't together.
Now this is almost as if it's foreshadowed towards the beginning of the prologue. If you notice, at the start when all the boys are playing back at the pool area, there is a scene where Namjoon plays golf with a little toy car.
He then hits it with a golf club and send it's straight in the little puddle on the other side. Maybe when this actually happened, it was a ball that Namjoon hit, but as Jin is remembering this, his mind morphs and starts changing his memories, giving him the idea.
This is foreshadowing Jin's death.
If you notice, the angle that his car is placed at during the very last scenes, it looks as if he's parked within the water and all you hear are the sounds of the ocean.
This could very well be how Jin dies. The camera then focuses on the frame of the car, and small drops of water can be seen. This could be from the waves splashing against his car.
Whether Namjoon died within a gas station explosion or he has moved away, Jin is still left alone, and with that, he lets himself be swept away by the water.
