Caitlin's P.O.V
There was a man holding up a sign that read our names on it, waiting for us after we landed. It was such a weird thing, to have someone waiting for you at an airport. I felt like I was somebody really important, somebody really famous. Liz had found it weird too, but Julie liked the idea of it. I thought it was a bit strange, but hey, if that's what she really liked.
After we met with the man, whose name was Chris, we made our way out of the airport. I had no idea what or where we were, all the signs were in written in French. I had taken a little bit in high school but because of my failing grade, I dropped the class. Julie hadn't taken a language and Liz took Spanish, so it wasn't helping. Luckily for us, Chris spoke French and English, we were able to make it around the large building.
"You know," Liz leaned into me as we were walking towards a black van. "All these French men are so hot." She said. I laughed, throwing my head back as I did.
"You would be looking at all the guys. Though I will admit, some of them are just downright gorgeous." I said.
Liz laughed in agreement as we finally got to the black van. Chris opened up the door for the three of us to get into the car and then shut it once we were inside. I was sitting in the back, Liz and Julie in the middle seats. Chris had climbed into the front seat and started the car. As we were pulling out of the parking lot, Chris began to speak.
"So I'm sure you're all wondering who your mentor is. Well, I can't tell you that and you won't know until tomorrow morning. So I'm going to take you to your hotel. You'll be sharing a room, since you're technically one act. Room service is going to come around six thirty, though I'm sure you will be sleeping off the jet lag. Tomorrow morning there will be breakfast in the hotel dining hall, and after that we will be taken to your mentors home." Chris informed us.
"So is there anything that we have to do today?" Liz asked.
"No, nothing. I suggest sleeping off the jet lag because you are going to be very busy for the next week. Any other questions?" He asked.
Julie leaned forward, placing her hand on the back of the driver's seat. "Are you sure you can't tell us who our mentor is?"
"Ha! I'm sorry Julie, but I can't tell you." Chris laughed.

The bright morning sun was shining down on all twenty two of us. The large amount of people surrounding us were the members of the six acts - or bands - in the competition. We all officially met each other yesterday, being that we shared a floor with all six acts. There is One Step, who was Liz's friends Beck's band. Then there is another girl group named Made In America, a group named Escape, one named Black List, and another named Stuff And Things. And then there was, well, there was the girls and I.
I've talked to almost everyone for at least a minute or two, but I mostly kept to the girls or the boys from One Step. Beck had immediately been by Liz's side, I think he likes her, and his bandmates were with him. We got along really easily; Julie took a liking to them. They were all really, really cute.
We were all standing in the front yard of a huge house, a mansion if you will. We couldn't see inside or anything like that, and the question of who our mentor is was on everyone's minds. I wanted to know who our mentor was just as badly, but knowing that we would be finding out in just a few minutes was putting my eagerness to rest.
Camera people were surrounding us, catching every moment on film. Everyone was talking over each other, I could barely hear a full sentence. I could hear laughter and yelling, it was so hectic but I loved every second of it. After a few more minutes, someone walked out of the house. Disappointment filled the air when we saw that it wasn't a mentor, it was an X Factor employee that was holding a clipboard. As he walked closer to where we stood, I recognized him as Mark. I smiled, glad to see a familiar face.
"Hiya guys, welcome to your mentors house. I'm sure you are disappointed to see that it's me and not your mentor." Mark said, getting a laugh from all of us. He was a very easy person to talk to.
"We're never disappointed to see you, Mark!" Someone from behind me yelled.
"How nice of you Sophia. But all flirting aside, I'm going to need you to sit tight for another minute. Your mentor will be coming out in just a minute, so please stay on the quiet side for the sake of the show." Mark said.
We all mumbled an answer and quieted down, listening to what he had said. I could hear a few whispers from behind me, but that was all. We were all watching the front door for who will walk out. After a few seconds, we could see a figure through the window, but I couldn't tell who it was. The door was pulled open and our mentor stepped out.
My eyes widened and a huge smile came over my face at the sight of Simon Cowell. He had a cocky smile plastered across his face, but in the best way. He's had such success on this show, especially in the UK. He definitely knows what he's doing and I'm honored to be placed in his category. The others seemed to feel the same way as I do, because soon enough, I was being pushed aside for the people behind me to run towards him. Someone grabbed my arm and started tugging me with them. It was Liz, and she was joining everyone else in running towards Simon.
His laugh was loud as we finally got to him, a rather large group hug as a result. I was being squished into Liz's back and I think Julie was behind me, though I couldn't tell. Luckily after what seemed like hours but in reality, it was only seconds, the group hug broke apart and chatter began to fill the room.
"Alright, alright everyone, welcome to the next step in the X Factor. We are going to be very busy throughout the next week so I hope you are ready for a busy week. Today is one of the two days were you won't be too busy, so you should get some rest today. I'm sure you all have already looked over the plan for this week." Simon said, his British accent so deep and defined.
"And I know you are probably wondering who our celebrity guest judge is, so without any more of a wait, I'd like to introduce a dear friend of mine who was in your position just a few years ago, Cher Lloyd." Simon said. The doors opened again and the pretty brunette walked. Cher Lloyd was one of my favorite artists so I was the first one to run towards her.
Meeting Cher Lloyd was so, so amazing. She was incredibly nice, though I didn't get to personally talk to her. After another group hug, we were sent into the house. Our luggage had already been brought to our rooms and there were people running around helping us. Both Cher and Simon had disappeared, I have no idea where they went to. But the girls and I were being led upstairs by someone who was telling us of the house.
Noise was everywhere though, I could hear contestants talking and laughing from the long hallways that seemed to echo. I was trailing up the behind, slow as usual. Liz was walking in the front, talking with the woman who was leading us to our room. Julie was just in front of me, looking at everything this huge house had to offer. We finally got to a white door that had a sheet of paper with our names on it hanging from the wall.
"So here's your room. Since you three are one of the smallest groups, you have one of the smaller rooms. We've renovated it to fit the three of you though, so you should be very comfortable." The woman said, pushing open the white door.
Our room was smaller than I had expected, it was a little bigger than your average bedroom, though I expected it to be a huge room. To be honest though, I like the fact that it was an average size room. There were a queen bed and a twin bed sitting in the room, a large window lighting up the area. It was a beautiful room and living here for a week was going to be fun.
"You have the afternoon to unpack and settle in. Dinner will be at six thirty, and then you'll have free time until eight, which is when we are all to sit and watch the first episode of the auditions. If you have any questions, there will be people all around the house."
"Thanks Bridget." Liz said, smiling at the dirty blonde.
"No problem, I'll see you three later." She said before heading towards the door.
Once the bedroom door was closed, Julie ran over to the twin size bed and jumped on it, claiming it as hers. Liz and I both stared at each other before running towards the queen sized bed. We both jumped on it at the same time and because of the way the mattress moved, I fell onto my side and rolled towards the pillow. As my body uncontrollably rolled, my legs hit something and a loud bang followed after that.
Julie started laughing loudly and I opened my eyes, looking out onto the empty bed. A second passed before Liz popped up, glaring at me from the floor. She must have fallen. I started to laugh myself, dropping my head back onto the pillow. I felt the bed moving around before someone collapsed next to me. I looked over at Liz, who was rubbing her shoulder.
"My butt hurts too." She said. Julie only laughed harder and when I looked at her, I saw her falling back onto the pillow, still laughing.
"Stop laughing Julie, it really wasn't that funny." Liz said, "I think I'm going to bruise on my butt." She said. Her comment only made us laugh harder.
"Oh Liz," I shook my head, "You are something else."
