I used to listen to this song all the time, but I never actually listened to it.
Upon listening closer to the lyrics, I realized that the song is speaking about abortion. For a long time, I didn't know how I felt about abortion. In middle school when we would be asked the question, I would always say I was neutral. At the time, I had no feelings about.
If I was pro abortion, it was because I believed that if someone couldn't support their baby, raising them in poverty would be just as bad as killing them.
If I was anti abortion, it was because I believed that there was a child in there that deserved a chance at life.
Today, I know immediately what my choice would be.
To me, abortion is taking a choice away from a human being. It is murder.
The Bible never directly mentions abortion, but I am one hundred percent sure that God would not be happy about his own creation being killed before birth.
Abortion is like altering God's plans. He breathed life into that person, taking that life away is a sin.
If you are someone who has made an abortion, supports it, or knows someone who has, you can still be forgiven. And maybe I'm wrong, maybe Trip Lee is wrong. It's okay. God says we can always go to him for help.
James 1:5 says If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
