Liz's P.O.V

"So what song do you want to sing? I was thinking we could do something that was a bit of a slower song. This way we can show the judges the raw talent that they claim we have," My partner, Evan Peterson said. I nodded my head in agreement, thinking of how a slower song could work in our advantage.

It definitely would give us the opportunity to show the judges our voices in their purest form. Slower songs were always easier to sing, though I did prefer the faster and more upbeat type of music. The only problem with singing a slower song was that for my solo song it was slow. I didn't know if singing too slower paced songs would benefit me.

But Evan was so sure on this, he seemed like we could win just be doing the song. I have always been a pushover and usually, history repeats itself, so before I knew it, I was agreeing to do the song. I wish I could stand my ground a little bit more when it comes to something like this, but that's just not the person I am. Besides, Be Your Everything was a really good song and I liked it a lot.

"Great, alright well it's getting late. We can start practicing tomorrow. You know the song, right?" Evan asked, smiling widely.

"Yeah, I do." I blushed under the attractive guys' gaze.

"Good. I'll see you tomorrow then Liz, goodnight." He said, standing from the chair. I said goodnight back and as soon as he left the hotel room I dived for my phone and quickly started typing up a message to Natalie.

Liz: asdfghjkl; call me asap

I sent my phone down after sending the message, but after a second or two passed it started to vibrate. I looked at the screen and saw that she was calling me. I wasn't surprised with how quickly she called me, she's always got her phone on her. I answered the call and put the phone to me ear. "Oh my God Nat, guess what?"

"Is it Niall? Have you seen his tweets?" She asked.

"Yes I did and I do not care for his tweets of Hannah. But that's not what I asked you to call me for. Guess what?" I said.

"Are you getting married to Niall?"

"No it has nothing to do with One Direction." I shook my head.

"Then I don't really care to hear it..."

"Natalie." I laughed.

"Okay, okay. What happened?"

"I got paired up with this really cute guy. His name is Evan but he's like, twenty four. It looks like his face was carved by angels." I gushed, feeling my cheeks heating up.

"Aw, Lizzie has a crush, how cute. Does he have a nice body?" Natalie asked.

I shrugged, thinking about it. "I don't know really. He's got some muscles but he's not some body builder. He's in between. He's blond and blue eyed. He's tall and so nice and he can sing. Isn't that amazing? I swear I'm in love." I sighed in content.

"Ha, he sounds like a certain celebrity! Sorry I'll stop obsessing over those little shits. How was boot camp? I'm still so happy you got put through." Natalie said.

"I know, me too. I can't believe it, I really thought I was being sent home. I guess they like my voice more than I thought. And boot camp is going good. Except for this one girl..." I said, thinking about the brown haired girl. I don't know her name but she just gives me this weird feeling. She's so rude and mean, and she comes off as such a slut. I know it's not right to judge her but when she wears booty shorts with two inch heels it kind of comes off as slutty.

"Oh drama at the boot camp! Give me all the details." Natalie said, her interest increasing at the possible chance to gossip. She loves gossiping and this was right up her alley.

"It's really not that big of deal. It's just obvious that she doesn't like me. We first met at the elevator in our hotel and she just seemed to look down at me. And yesterday I was helping out passing out water bottles with my friend Beck, you'd love him, he's hilarious. But anyway, she was just so... I don't know. She seemed like it was such a terrible thing to help out." I gossiped.

"Only you would help someone else do their job."

"Shut up Nat, I know, I'm too nice. I've heard it all before. Well anyway, how's it going back home?" I asked. I missed Maine terribly. I missed the smell of the ocean that was just in my backward. I missed helping my mom make dinner, I missed my dad yelling at the TV because of a sports game, and I miss our football games we played all the time. I wasn't homesick to be exact, I just missed it.

"It's going good. The town is all talking about you. Rumors of where you went are flying high, because you couldn't really tell anyone that you got to boot camp. You'll never guess what Haley told people." Natalie said.

I groaned loudly. "What did she say?" I asked, though I wasn't sure if I wanted to know the answer to my question.

"She said you were caught with cocaine and went to rehab. But you were then caught selling your body for money and now you are facing charges of prostitution and illegal drug use." Natalie said.

"What?!" I yelled, sitting up in the bed. "Why the fuck would she say that? Does anyone believe her?" I asked. I was surprised by the swear words I used, being that I never really swore that much.

"Her puppy dogs do," Natalie said, referring to the girls that follow her around like a lost dog. "But as far as I know, people don't. They knew about your audition for they figured you're at boot camp. I keep getting asked about it and I want to smack them all in their faces." Natalie said.

I breathed a sigh of relief. "At least they don't believe her. Anyway, I got to go. I need to walk early tomorrow and it's almost midnight. I'll call you tomorrow, bye Nat." I said.

"Bye Lizzie, have fun and don't let the bedbugs bite!"

"Elizabeth Johnston and Evan Peterson." I looked up when I heard my name, seeing Mark look around the room.

It was our last day here at boot camp and we were performing in our partner song. After the lunch break they were going to be announcing who is going to the judges homes and who isn't. They are cutting the sixty people left down into twenty four acts.

It was totally nerve wrecking. The odds of getting picked were totally against me and I was so nervous, I felt like I was going to throw up. Evan looked calm as ever, though he has the voice of an angel. I swear he's just amazing. Nothing compared to One Direction, but amazing nonetheless.

"C'mon Liz, let's get this down." Evan smiled at me as he helped me to my feet. I felt as if I was going to pass out. He was so hot and he just held my hand. Sure it was only for a few seconds but it still counted.

As I shook the weird thoughts from my head, I followed Evan to where Mark was waiting for us. He smiled and pointed us in the right direction, through the double doors. I was nervous for the partner song. Evan was such a talented singer and he had everything that the judges were looking for. The voice, the look, the attitude, and he was such a sweetheart. He was so much better than I was in every way and I was so nervous that the judges would like him more than I would.

The judges were all talking quietly at their table, but when we walked in they stopped their talking. Demi smiled at the both of us and I smiled back, feeling my cheeks heating up. Why do I blush over silly little things? It was so embarrassing. I heard Evan laughing quietly behind me, setting his hand on my shoulder and squeezing gently to make me feel better. I only blushed worse, and then mentally hit myself because there were cameras watching us.

"Hello Liz and Evan, how are you two doing?" Simon asked.

"We're doing great Simon." Evan answered for the both of us, flashing the older gentlemen a smile.

"That's good to hear. Now, what song will you be singing for us today?" Simon asked.

I was the one to answer. "Be Your Everything."

"Okay, start whenever you're ready." He said.

I closed my eyes, tightly squeezing the microphone in my hand. I swallowed the nervous lump in my throat as I heard the music start to play. As the first note hung in the air, some of my nervousness went away. The music calmed me down, as it always does. I shouldn't be nervous when it came to music. Music was my passion and it's the one thing that I can always lean on. It's the only thing that's kept me sane over the years, and I'm sure it'll be the only thing to do that in the years that come.

"Mmm, yeah," Evan sang, pulling me back into reality. "Four letter word, but I don't have the guts to say it. Smile 'til it hurts, let's not make it complicated. We've got a story and I'm about to change the ending. You're perfect for me, and more than just a friend, so we can just stop pretending now, gotta let you know somehow." Evan sang. As he was singing, he sent a wink in my direction. I blushed madly as I brought the mic to my lips. I turned to look at the judges, who were laughing over our interaction.

"I'll be you shelter, I'll be your storm. I'll make you shiver, I'll keep you warm. Whatever weather, baby I'm yours, be your forever, be your fling. Baby I will be your everything." I sang, my voice coming out steadier than I had thought it would.

"Baby I, baby I will, baby I will be your everything." Evan sang as I launched into the next part. The music was picking up and I loved how the energy on the stage began to form.

"We used to say that we would always stick together, but who's to say, that we could never last forever. Boy, got a question, could you see yourself with somebody else? 'Cause I'm on a mission, and I don't wanna share, I want you all to myself right now. I just wanna scream it out." I sang.

Evan moved closer to the stage, singing the chorus. I'll be you shelter, I'll be your storm. I'll make you shiver, I'll keep you warm. Whatever weather, baby I'm yours, be your forever, be your fling. Baby I will be your everything. Baby I, baby I will, baby I will be your everything."

"No matter what you do, yeah, oh, I'll be there for you. And every time you close your eyes, I will be by your side. 'Cause every time you make me sing, baby I will be your everything." I sang.

Evan and I went through the rest of the song, taking turns with the parts like we practiced earlier today. As the song slowly came to an end, I felt the nerves set it. We weren't being told if we got through to the judges homes quite yet, it would be later today. With only thirty acts to listen to - being that the sixty people were paired into thirty groups - it wouldn't take very long to listen to everyone singing.

We were directed off stage and through the double doors to where everyone else was waiting. As soon as we were through the doors Evan wrapped me up in a hug and I swore, I could've died in that instant. He was just that cute. "You were amazing Liz, that was great. Man, I would kill to have your voice." Evan said, his words surprising me.

Why in the world would he give up his voice? He was literally a blond version of Zayn Malik, despite that bad boy vibe. His voice limits were all over the charts while mine weren't, or were they? I didn't know, though I did know that Evan should not wish to give up his voice.

"You were better than I was, Evan. You were amazing." I said.

Before Evan could say anything, my sides were poked at, just under the ribs, causing me to let out a little bit of a scream and jump. I turned around to face the laughing Beck and I glared at him. Beck just laughed harder and I shook my head, turning back to face Evan. "Sorry about him." I said, laughing in slight embarrassment.

"It's fine, I'm going to go meet up with some of my friends by the snacks. But again, really nice job. I'll see you later Liz." He said. I nodded and waved awkwardly before turning to face Beck.

"You're are so mean to me sometimes." I said, then continued. "In fact, you are too mean to me for someone that just met me freaking three days ago." I put my hands on my hips in a cocky manner. It seemed crazy that I've only been here for just a few days.

"Oh Lizzie," Beck said, throwing an arm around my shoulder, "It doesn't matter how long we've known each other, I'll always be a dick to you."

Their relationship is friendships goals af okay?

Oh and just so there isn't any confusion, I don't know that much about boot camp. I know the basics, but I don't know how long it was exactly. I'm literally going off a wiki article about the x factor and it says that they filmed boot camp from the 25th through the 27th so I have no idea if any of this is right, but I'm trying okay. Sorry if I get anything wrong.
