"You may now be seated" the pastor said, I smoothed out my black summer dress and sat in my seat that was between Miles and Aariz with Noah on the end, in the first peu. while Patricia and Ezrah sat in the second pue. I stared emotionless at the open casket of mama.
She lived a month and a half before God called her home. It was one of the saddest moment's of my life watching my loved one die. She wasn't in pain thank goodness , she had enough pain meds to put down a elephant.
It was tough seeing her mind go slowly, one day knowing each of our names to not knowing who she was. I took the final week of her life off of work so I could be by her side along with the boy's. Josh sent his condolence while Gi was being a bitch. She was really getting jealous of me staying at the house. She didn't realise she was my mother too, and tried to get in my face about it. I put her in her place real quick and smacked the Asian out of her.
I told Miles I didn't want her here, because she was being disrespectful. And he agreed, she broke up with him after. That and after she found out he spent the night at my place. He told her over and over again nothing happened, and it didn't. We cried and went to sleep.
I listened as the pastor read the sermon and nodded my head agreeing with the words. I turned around and scanned the room seeing all of the family that flew in from DR. And way in the back with sunglasses on I saw Gi's fake ass. I just rolled my eye's and rubbed Aairz back as he began to cry while aunt titi was speaking in her thick Spanish accent.
She continued her speech with heartfelt words along with other relatives. As it was coming to a close it was the children's turn. Miles, Noah, and Aariz went up to the mic and Miles pulled our a letter we all wrote together. Before he started reading his uncle tapped me from behind. "Your one of her children to meha' why aren't you up there"? He asked then tuned back to the boy's.
"I would first like to say thank you everyone for being here. She would have been overwhelmed that everyone came. She was such a humble women. She would have said 'all this fuss over me' and that's one of the reasons we loved her so much. She thought of others and never of herself. When our father died she catered to us and pushed her hurt to the side. I re.... I reme...".
Miles couldn't finish the letter before he broke down Noah motioned for me to come up with teary eye's as family shouted that 'it's okay' and to 'let it out'.
I took over the mic and introduced myself for those who didn't know me, even though a majority of his family knew the situation.
"I'm going to finish where he left off. I remember hearing her cries to god why did he take him, I went and comfort her but still she was concerned about my brothers and I. She even took in my best friend Jacei when she was having trouble at home. She was really too good for this world and will be forever missed by the hearts she touched. You will for ever be in our hearts mama".
The boy's and I did a group hug as we broke down with Miles.

The graveyard was clearing out as everyone was headed back to mamas house. After her death Miles talked to the boy's and decided to sell their child hood home. There was no buyers yet but still it was sad. So many memories took place in that house.
The family dinners, when Miles and I had our first fight, when Noah started sneaking girl's in the house and mama caught him, from me bring boy's home to meet her to Aariz cussing everyone out and mama slapping the taste out his mouth. And Just everything .
We all stood around the casket as it was lowered into the ground and said our final goodbyes. Including Ezrah, Patricia, and Gi.
"Just promise me one thing y'all"? Noah sniffles directing it to all of us"we stay a family, y'all my brothers and sisters man, no matta what life throws are way, promise we'll always stay tight".
"Promise" we all said in unison "I'm mainly talking to you and Jace Em. Y'all be having y'all little beefs and the whole pack suffers. none of that".
Noah said looking seriously at the two of us. "Even if me and Em have a falling out I won't leave you guys hanging".
The four of us linked arms and and headed to the limo we rented for the day, while Rah, Gi, and Tricia followed. Aairz gave us the idea to skip out on the family gathering at the house and just ride around Mass for a while. We all agreed not wanting to cry anymore. Rah told the driver to stop at the liqueur store and purchased two bottles of tequila, hard cider and hypnotic.
We all passed it around getting our buzz on, Tricia sat with a pout not being able to drink considering she was five months pregnant. We road around for a good two hour reminiscing, laughing and talking, before we told the driver to head back home.
I thought it was a good idea to lighten the mood and talk about Joshes coming home party.
"So I only mentioned this to my girl Trish but I want to throw a coming home party for Josh" I said with a sler. Everyone shook their heard with excitement liking the idea, while Rah and Em looked at each other. I rolled my eye's knowing they would feel some kind of way but wouldn't say anything.
"Am I invited to"? Gi asked in a soft voice. With the alcohol in my system and not wanting to be hostile any more I told her yeah.
"Yes you can come" she smiled wide and she scooted over to me as Tricia gave me a look.
"But I just want to apologize to everyone actually. You guy's were a family before I got her and I shouldn't have tried to mess that up. Even though you guys did some shady stuff I'm willing to for give and for get".
I expected her apologies and kissed her on the cheek and the guy's cheered on with their pervy self's. Miles pulled Gi to his lap and slapped her non butt and kissed her deeply. I turned my head and drunk some more tequila feeling the burn on the way down.

Once we got back to the house it was all a blur. Family members rushed to our aid thinking we were having mental brake downs and needed help. Well we did but it wasn't that bad. We just wanted to get our minds off of the stresses of the day. Tricia and Rah went home because her feet started to hurt, so it left Em, Noah, Aariz, Gi and I.
We donged the little bit of family that was left and headed to the semi finished basment with the bottle of Hypnotic.
Their uncle came down with a small white girl with large hips and a cute face. I looked to Em in confusion and he returned the puzzled look.
"Aairz Ashley stopped by" he said leaving the blond haired girl standing there awkwardly. "This you"? Noah asked pointing with his thumb in shock, as the rest of us cocked our head watching Aairz walk up to her and kiss her cheek.
"Everyone this is my girlfriend Ashley, Ash this is everyone" he said waving his hand from left to right at us. "Damn" Noah exclaimed and I smacked the back of his big head as he pulled me into his lap. "She's cute. But why is she here did she meet mama or something"?
You know I had to be the one to ask, this is a grieving time for only family and close friend'. Not his random girlfriends that hes only been with for five minutes.
"Yes I have. I met her a few years ago. I was sitting in the back of the church". Ashley spoke up for him and I just nodded. That was a bold move. "I like you come join" I yelled, and a huge smile spread across her face. Aairz smiled as well happy that his big sis liked his little girl friend. Miles slapped his hand as they walked past to sit and mouthed 'good job' to Aairz.
From that point on things got a little crazy. The noise upstairs died down, but it was turning up down here. Aairz was pretending like he was Tarzan with his shirt off pounding on his chest. I had a call from Josh asking how the funeral went but I was too drunk to talk and passed it to Noah witch was a huge mistake.
"Chi chill little nigga she with big papa she'll call you back if she don't choke".
I sobered up enough as my eye's got wide and punch him in his mouth, he fell forward and passed out. We moved him to the couch and propped up his head. That ruined the vibe so Aairz dug in a few boxes pulling out the blow up beds and some blankets.
He layed the blankets down and placed the beds on top and blew them up. Him and his girl shared one, while Gi gave me an acceptable look and I shared the other one with her a Miles.

I woke up to a pounding headache on Miles right side laying on his chest with Gi laying on his left. His chest was bare and Gi and I were in our underwear. I peeked under the covers to a see Ems meat out for all the world to see. I slowly got up looking around the room seeing everyone was still sleep but Noah was gone. I found my black dress and slipped it on searching for my phone. I heard foot steps coming down the stairs and looked up to see Noah with a smile.
He motioned for me to follow, then headed back up. Once I got upstairs I popped an Advil, used the bathroom washed my face and brushed my teeth. I headed for the kitchen almost falling over when I was my mother sitting at the table.
