If I could replay Amar's face everyday I would. His eyes were so wide they looked the size of golf balls. His mouth was slightly open and for the first time EVER I thought I saw a glint of fear in his eyes.
Then he crashes from his chair and falls to the floor.
"Amar?" Four asks.
"Did he just, faint?" I ask. That's when I turn around to see Tori with a million emotions in her eyes.
"I'm pregnant Tris, I'm pregnant," she breathes.
"Here sit down," I say pulling up a chair. She looks down at the small test in her hand. Then she smiles and a few tears fall down her face.
She throws her arms around me and she screams and so do I. That causes Amar to wake from whatever he was in cause he shoots up and pulls out his gun pointing it everywhere in alert.
Then he makes eye contact with Tori. She slowly stands and walks over to him.
"I'm pregnant Amar," she breathes. He stares at her and then they crash their lips together and me and Four slide under the table not wanting to see their make out session.
"Maybe they'll forget about why we were together," Four whispers to me and I giggle.
"We're gonna have a new cousin," I squeal.
"Wait it's still legal for us to be together right?" Four asks.
"TOGETHER?!?!?!?" Amar and Tori's voice booms throughout the entire mansion. We slowly turn around to see Amar and Tori looking under the table at us.
"Together," we reply sheepishly at smile kind of. Amar just raises his eyebrows and Tori squeals and pulls me from under the table.
"You're kidding right?" Amar asks Four. Four just laughs and shakes his head.
After dinner I head to my room on the 5th floor. That's where all the guest rooms are so Four's is in the other hallway. I go up to my room and throw on some pjs.
Then I go over all the events in the past two days.
Four and I started dating
I have to keep this from my friends
Four's my "tutor"
I love Four
Tori's pregnant
Amar and Tori will be parents
I will be a cousin
It's not weird Four and I are dating, right?
Four and I will have to act like we hate each other
My parents are home
Some where along that list I fall into a deep sleep with dreams about love and babies.
"HOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNKKKK!!"
I scream at the top of my lungs as I see Amar standing on top of my bed looking down at me.
"Where'd ya get that shirt?" He asks and that's when I realize my "pjs" we're really Four's shirt and some leggings.
"Four," I moan and turn over putting the pillow over my head.
"That little thief," he mutters.
"Wha?" I ask.
"That's my shirt and I thought I lost. that three months ago," Amar explains as Four walks through the door.
Four runs up to me and picks me up throwing me over his shoulder.
"Breakfast is ready!" He shouts and runs down the stairs.
He gently places me at a spot where pancakes, sausage, and eggs are. Tori, Four and Amar all sit down as we start to feast.
"How wong haf you had ma shir?" Amar asks Four with a mouthful of food.
"Wong dime, a haf a lot mor ov your coths," he responds making Amar pick up a sausage and throws it at Four.
Four looks up as if completely offended. You only see Amar goof around with two types of people, his family, and George, Tori's brother and his best friend, other than that Amar is the guy who can scare the shit out of a general in the army. But when Amar messes around its the funniest time in the world.
Four picks up his pancake and chucks it at Amar sticking to his face, we all stare for a second until it slides off of his face and he looks annoyed, then we all start laughing our faces off.
I even fall to the ground laughing so hard. That's when I hear Four yelling into the distance and look up to Four who's being slung over Amar's shoulder being carried to the pool. I watch as he's thrown into the ice cold water and Amar shouting in victory.
"Tris," I hear Tori say, "Amar and I were talking about Christmas and bad presents so we thought it would be fun to do bad presents for all four of us."
"Yeah are we picking names or something?"
"Yup," she hands me a hat with two names in them. I grab the bottom one.
Amar
December 22- Tobias and I go Christmas shopping and buy our bad gifts.
December 23- We sneak out together and get ice cream at midnight
Christmas Eve- I go to my dads side for Christmas and have a ton of fun with my other two uncles. Once I get home Tobias is waiting for me in my room. Then we secretly bake cookies at 11:00.
Christmas Day
"It's Christmas it's Christmas!" I shout jumping on Caleb as our tradition continues.
"Tris, do you have to do this every year," he groans rolling over.
"Yup!" I say and drop to my hands and knees so I'm right on top of him.
"Tori already woke up mom and dad, Christmas breakfast is waiting," I sing and pull him out of bed. He laughs sleepily as I drag him down the stairs.
"Merry Christmas!" Tori shouts and runs and picks us up.
"Tori just shared the news with us," my mom says getting teary eyed. What? What news? Better not be about me and Four.
"What news?" Caleb asks.
"Tori's pregnant!" My mom shouts a little. I let out a breathe I didn't know I was holding in. I think I'm starting to become paranoid. I mean people with find out sooner or later. I'm just hoping they find out later.
"Really? Already?" Caleb asks with a disgusted face. Tori just crossed her arms as my mom scolds him.
"You guys were on a honeymoon for only 2 days and you already..." Caleb starts.
"Let's not finish that sentence!" I chirp and sit down to eat before Caleb ruins my appetite.
I stuff my face with food not caring that it's basketball season.
"Tris," Tori says with her mouthful, "healthy eating."
"I don't care if you bench me next game I eat what I want when I want," I shove a whole cinnamon roll in my mouth as I say it.
"I've never been so proud," she says and does the same thing.
"So Tori have you gotten any cravings yet?" My mom asks and Tori chokes on her food.
"I've only been pregnant for," she says then starts doing some math to remember.
"Ewwwwwww," Caleb and I shout at the same time and run in the car.
Once everyone's in we head to Tori and Amar's house. It's not that far from our house but while we drive I start to think. Tori Eaton. If I get married to Tobias I'll be Tris Eaton. I know it's legal and stuff it's still weird though. I guess it is kinda like two sisters marrying two brothers. Oh well, I mean I'm only a sophomore I don't have to worry.
"Hey Tris I can't wait for you to get your license," my dad says taking me out of my train of thought.
"Once she gets her license I'm never going on the road again," Tori says making my brother laugh.
"I agree," he says still laughing.
"Hey I'm surprised you haven't killed someone with that nice little car of yours," I retort.
"Nah nah nah nah nah!" He shouts in my face and soon we're in a typical sibling fight.
"Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!" Tori shouts as she sits in between us.
"Tori, you're only making it worse!" My mom shouts and once we pull into their driveway I bet their whole neighborhood could hear us yelling.
We park and my dad bolts out of the car and into the house and we soon follow and Tori, Caleb, and I all race. We crash in the house only to see Amar and Mr. Eaton disagreeing on something and Four sitting with his sister's watching TV.
I go and slide next to Victoria. Four glances up at me and smirks. Last night while we were making cookies I got cookie dough on my lips and he got it off by kissing me. It kind of turned into a full on make out session. I blush and look down.
"Can we turn off the TV it's Christmas," Mr. Eaton says and as if it was reflexes Tobias turns off the TV right away. I hop up and sneak a cookie while my moms not looking.
"Oh yeah Vic and CeCe you have a basketball game tomorrow so try not to eat to much junk," Four says and his sisters groan. Let's just say out of all the people I've met Four is SO overprotective of his sisters it's not even funny. He won't let a guy in a five foot radius of them. And once a guy was flirting with CeCe and Four punched him without a second thought, knocking him out.
"By that I mean, no cookies," Four says as he eats a cookie.
"It's not our fault they put a basketball game right after freaking Christmas!" CeCe says.
"Hey watch your language," Four scolds.
"I didn't say anything bad Mr. Dirty mouth," she says to her brother making me burst into laughter at her bluntness.
Four rolls his eyes and pays attention to something Amar is talking about, I think about cars. I sneakily grab two cookies and quickly hand them to CeCe and Victoria.
We grin at each other as they slide out of the room to eat their treasure. Then I feel someone lightly yank me to a different room around the corner. Soon my body is pressed between a chest and the wall.
"You think you can sneak my sisters cookies without me figuring it out?" Four shows a toothy smile.
"Only doing a good deed," I smirk and I feel lips being pressed to mine. I react immediately and we only pull back for air.
"We better get back before we're missed," I say.
"I think we won't be missed that long," He says and leans in before I put a finger up to his lips. He stops and opens his eyes.
"Not taking any chances," I retort.
"One sec I think you have cookie dough on your lips..."
"What are you guys doing?" Victoria's words ring. Shoot these girls are smart Four better come up with something quick and sell it good.
"Oh we were just over here making out," he says and my jaw nearly drops.
"Yeah ok?" Vic says and walks away quickly.
"I know you had a cookie!" He shouts.
"CeCe had one too!" She shouts back.
"HEY!" I hear CeCe shout.
We return to the family room where everyone is now sitting waiting to open presents.
"Bad presents first!" Tori chirps. That's when I realize she's sitting on Amar's lap and they're sitting on the ground.
"Well don't look to disgusted Tris," Tori retorts. I just smirk and toss Amar his present. I'm dying to see this.
"Oh so you got me, I hope you know your grade is depending on this present," he says untying the bow.
"Along with your life," Four mutters and Amar laughs in agreement.
"Tris how did you know this is exactly what I wanted," he says as he pulls out his bright pink onesie. I got an extra large hoping it would fit his muscular build but now that I look at it it looks kinda small.
"I'll be back," Amar says leaving going into the bathroom. I can tell the mature adults don't look amused but the kids and Tori look like they're about to pee their pants.
Amar comes out and I was right about it being to small cause it looked like his arms and chest were about to rip the fabric. That's when we all burst into laughter even the adults look slightly amused and Mr. Eaton raises an eyebrow.
"Well who had Tris?" he says walking over to us and taking his seat. Four lifts a present in the air. It's yellow with a red bow and looks nicely wrapped. Don't judge a book by its cover. I remember Four told me that when we went to The Factory on our first date.
I cautiously unwrap the paper. Inside is a t-shirt? I slowly lift the shirt and read what it says, "I'm his b**ch," and there's and arrow pointing left. Then Four takes a shirt out and it says, "I'm her a$$." We all start cracking up except out parents who looked stunned, seriously they should be used to this by now.
"Its's normally for couples but I thought it's funny cause we both call each other that all the time," then he winks at me as if flirting but I now it has another meaning.
"Thanks ass."
"No problem ma bitch."
Then Amar hands Four a present.
"No," he says horrifically looks up at Amar who's grinning evilly.
Four slowly unwraps the gift and has a mortified look on his face.
"He gave me shit!" He shouts.
"That's the point they're bad pres.." Tori gets interrupted.
"No, literally, he gave me crap," he says showing her what's inside the present. A look of shock crosses her face and then amusement.
"I think you all know now why I married him," she says.
"And why you're carrying his baby," Caleb says to cause everyone, even the adults to laugh, except Tori and Amar who look totally unamused.
Tori shoves a present to Caleb. Caleb slowly unwraps it and raises his eyebrows.
"Wow Tori, I think you got a size to small," he says holding up a bright pink bra up to his chest, and it couldn't be more obvious it was a size D.
"Well here ya go," Caleb says handing Tori a present. She happily unwraps it which was her big mistake cause right when she unwrapped it goo squirted everywhere, clearly an invention by my brother.
"Rule number one, never let a nerd get you a gift," he says as we all burst into a laughing fit.
Time Lapse
I sigh as I lay on my bed after a long day. Today was amazing. That's when I hear the familiar tap in my window. I lean up to see Four perched on my windowsill waiting to be let in.
I quickly get up and unlock the window sliding it open. Four is holding something in his coat. I try to get a glimpse of it but he hops in my room before I can.
"Hey," I say smiling and glance at the clock.
"It's eight, my family is still up?" I question wondering why he's here so early.
"Yeah, I just wanted to say I never got you an actual present. You know I thought a good boyfriend would get something nice," at the word boyfriend my heart flutters.
That's when Four takes out a fluff ball from his coat jacket. At first I think it's a stuffed animal, until it moves.
"Merry Christmas," he says handing me the wolf dog puppy.
"Oh my gosh!" I screech picking up the small animal.
"Where? How? Wh.."
"Tris, " he says and lifts my chin with two fingers, "it doesn't matter, the only thing that matters is, I love you."
"I love you too," and then his lips gently press to mine and I get lost in the moment. It's like he's my drug and I can't stop, I've never been in love before, until now. I didn't know what to believe anymore.
He pulls away slowly.
"I should go," he says sadly.
"Goodbye."
"Goodbye."
