I pick up and the hospital informs me without a pause that my

First date –

As the song ends all I can think is I hope everything works out,

Anna did something I thought she’d never do and slapped my

Once in the car, Marie picked us up; Anna looks at me and
asked if I was ok. I nod and say nothing until we reach her
house.
Releasing Anna’s hand, that I don’t remember holding. Getting
out of the car I take some of my bags and Anna takes the rest. Marie leads me to the 2nd floor to a room and tells me it’s the
one connected to Anna’s and her bathroom. I thank her and
look around the room, placing my stuff on the floor. Anna tries
to kiss me but I pull away, but looking at the hurt on her face I
give a quick kiss. Telling her I would be fine, which was a lie,
and that I just wanted to get unpacked and situated.
Once alone I walk over to the door and lock it, open my bags
until I find what I was looking for. Sitting on the floor I roll my
sleeve up and take a quick slice with my razor onto my wrist I
keep doing this until I feel myself get dizzy. Once it stops I
struggle to stand but get up eventually head to the bathroom
and rinse my arm to stop the bleeding, as my blood washes
down the sink all I can think is someday things will get better. I

The bleeding stops and I head back into my room and put my
