CHAPTER FIFTY SEVEN
Sehun and I just looked at each other in disbelief. Of all situations to find us in, it just had to be in this kind of situation.
Getting caught was a mistake on our part though but I'm sure neither Sehun and I is regretting what happened last night.
"How will I return to my room now that they're all here?" I asked.
"Then don't," he shrugged. "If you're going to ask me, I don't want anyone else seeing you looking like that. Baekhyun and Kai are more than enough." he said.
I sighed, good thing I wore his shirt. It would've been more embarrassing if they saw both of us on the bed. But still... I could already feel the teasing.
"But I need to take a shower," I groaned. "Should I risk teleporting then?"
"No way," Sehun answered. "What if you accidentally teleport into one of their rooms?" He asked.
"Any suggestions then?" I asked.
"Come on," he said and I remained looking at him in confusion.
"What's with the look?" I asked.
"Shower with me?" He gestured towards his personal bathroom.
My eyes widened and I coughed awkwardly. "Are you kidding me? I-It's too early for t-that." I stuttered.
"It's just a shower Paige, I am not implying anything." he chuckled.
"I'm not thinking of anything!" I said in my defense. Great. Now I'm the one with the dirty mind.
"Are you coming or not? We have to hurry downstairs too."
I took a deep breath. Calm down Paige, stop acting like a school girl--even if you are one.
"Well?" Sehun asked.
"We should hurry," I muttered as I quickly entered the bathroom. I saw him grinning before following in.
It really was just a quick shower...together. It felt a bit awkward but I didn't really mind.
Sehun was the first to leave to get changed. A moment later, he entered and gave me clothes to change into.
"Just change into your clothes once you get into your room, wear mine for now." he left afterwards to give me time to change.
I went into my room afterwards while Sehun waited for me outside. His brothers are all probably downstairs. I changed into my usual clothes but I remained wearing Sehun's shirt. I'm pretty sure that they already have an idea of what happened and I don't plan on explaining everything.
Sehun and I went downstairs and they were all at the living room. They were all watching TV.
"What do we do?" I asked Sehun.
"I don't know, just act normal. Kai and Baekhyun probably haven't said anything yet." he answered.
Sehun took my hand and both of us went to greet them. "Good morning?" I hesitantly greeted. Xiumin and the rest aren't here yet just like last time. They all looked at me for a moment.
"I can explain every--" before I could even finish Baekhyun and Kai ran towards me. I winced since it felt like a tackle and all three of us nearly fell.
"So it really is you!" Baekhyun said. "I thought it was your demon form earlier."
"For one moment I thought Sehun took advantage of you while the potion had its effects." Kai added.
"Wait, Paige is really back?" Tao asked in bewilderment.
"This is Paige, can't you see. It's her." Baekhyun said as he kept pinching my cheeks.
"Of course it's me. What's going on?" I asked.
"You were in your demon form for the past days. You kept leaving the house, you were following Aleister's orders then Sehun caught you once and we've been keeping you here ever since." Kyungsoo narrated.
"Wait, what do you mean keeping me in here?" I asked. "Sehun mentioned that potion. What is it?"
"It's like medicine," Chanyeol answered. "We used it on you to weaken you, well... So that you won't leave anymore. We do feel bad for using it on you."
"How long was I out like that?" I asked.
"Three or four days?" Chen answered.
"Wait," I pushed Kai and Baekhyun away for a while. "Within those three to four days, I was under the effect of that potion right?" I asked and they nodded. "So I could hardly move within those days?" They nod again.
"How am I... Who did... What?" I couldn't even ask a decent question.
"I know what you're thinking Paige," Kai snickered. "Sehun was the one doing everything for you. He was your personal caregiver."
Without any more questions I pulled Sehun to one corner of the room, right away from earshot of his brothers.
"Explain," I whispered.
"All I did was change your clothes." he answered. "There are times when I'd assist you to the bathroom but all I did was wait outside since the effect would be going off around that time." he explained quickly.
"You've been changing my clothes?" I asked.
"Then who do you want? Chanyeol?" He asked and I rolled my eyes at him.
"But wait... You changed everything? I mean everything?" I asked.
"Let me quote what you told me while you weren't you. It's not like you haven't seen me naked yet." he said and I slapped my forehead in embarrassment.
"Look, you were always wearing a dress because it's easier to make you wear it. I hope you don't mind since I made you use your mother's dresses." he explained.
Sehun was the one changing my clothes this whole time? Okay, maybe it's not that bad when you look at the circumstances that we were in.
I pinched him on his sides which made him flinch. "No wonder you were able to ask me to shower with you so casually."
"Like I said, it's just a shower." he chuckled.
"Are you two okay?" Kyungsoo asked.
"Yeah, we're okay." I answered.
We walked over to them and I just took a seat. Kai was sitting next to me and I noticed that he was looking.
"What?" I asked.
"Love bite," he whispered.
My face reddened and I quickly covered it up with my hair. He grinned in amusement. Why is he always so good at noticing those?
"You shouldn't have worn Sehun's shirt. It's so obvious." he said.
"Did you and Baekhyun tell anyone?" I asked.
He shook his head. "Like we have to," he grinned. "It was obvious the moment we saw you two. You smell the same, you both have damp hair and to top it all off, you're wearing Sehun's clothes. The only surprise we had was that you're back to your normal form."
I looked over to Sehun and the others, they're asking Sehun about how I was able to return to my normal form.
"The kiss of life is real," Chen said and I nearly choked.
"No wonder Sehun wanted us to leave you two alone last night." Chanyeol wiggled his eyebrows at me.
I looked over at the TV and I noticed the date. "It's already the fourteenth?" I asked aloud.
"Hey, don't change the subject. We're not done probing in." Baekhyun said.
"Just answer my question," I snapped.
They gave me a confused look before nodding. "Why are you asking though?" Kyungsoo asked.
"That means it was my birthday yesterday," I sighed. "I missed it." I laughed to myself.
They all looked surprised suddenly. Come to think of it, I never mentioned anything about my birthday to them.
"Really? That means we're too late, should we celebrate Paige?" Tao asked.
"Oh no need. It's just that I usually go to my mom and dad on my birthday, but it was all different yesterday." I scratched my head.
"You still got to celebrate," Kai said and I shot him a warning look.
"What a coincidence," Chen began laughing. "So basically that was birthday se--ouch!" He groaned when I pinched him.
"You always pinch me!" He whined.
"You think I'd let you continue what you were saying?" I raised one eyebrow and he just gave a Cheshire grin.
"It's still not yet too late to celebrate Paige. This is still your first birthday with us." Kyungsoo smiled.
"I just want to go to Mr. Damon." I answered. "How is he?"
"No changes, he's still asleep," Tao answered. "But his vital signs are improving a lot, which is good."
"How about the others?" I asked again.
"Well they're taking turns in managing the company. We actually feel bad that we can't help but they know how to do their jobs well." Chanyeol explained.
"If you didn't have me to watch over, then you could've been with Mr. Damon more often." I sighed. "I'm sorry if I caused trouble."
"It's okay, I'm pretty sure Sehun enjoyed taking care of you" Baekhyun winked.
"You're making it look like I'm a pervert," Sehun commented. "I already explained what I have to explain."
"Don't worry about it," I said while I averted my gaze. "I guess it's not much of a big deal if it's you." I said.
Kai suddenly nudged Sehun's arm. "Paige just officially broke the limitation barrier."
"What do you mean by limitation barrier?" I asked.
"Sehun can do anything he wants with you, it's fine as long as it's him." Chen explained and all of them except Sehun and I broke into laughter.
"Unbelievable." I groaned.
"Anyways, let's go to father today. It's still Paige's request for her birthday." Kyungsoo said to change the subject. I'm thankful for Kyungsoo, among everyone in here he really is the most mature. He joins in the teasing but he knows when to get serious and when to joke around.
"Let's have breakfast first." Chanyeol said.
"I'll help." I volunteered.
After we had breakfast, we rested for a while. Before noon, we decided to leave the house to head to the hospital.
"Oh, you're all back so soon?" Xiumin asked.
"Well Sehun wasn't able to visit last night." Chanyeol answered.
"Then who's watching over Paige?" Luhan asked.
"I'm here," I said as I went towards them. "I missed you guys."
Despite the confusion they still pulled me in for a hug. "Wait, is this really our Paige? How?" Lay asked in bewilderment as he cupped my face and looked into my eyes.
"Sehun got me back." I answered.
"I don't care about the details but, it's just good to have this girl back to normal." Xiumin ruffled my hair.
"If father is awake, he would've been hugging you tightly right now." Suho chuckled.
"It's nice to be back. It was scary back there, it was just pure darkness." I cringed as I recalled my memories.
"We'll make sure that you won't be returning there." Luhan smiled.
"I'll make sure that I can protect myself as well. I won't leave again."
"You're so unfair Paige, you're a lot nicer to these old guys" Kai complained causing the others to glare at him.
"Perhaps it's because they're more mature?" I teased.
"By the way, Paige just turned twenty one. None of us know that it was her birthday yesterday," Chanyeol said. "She said she just wants to see pops."
The guys looked at me in surprise before greeting me. "I feel bad for not knowing Paige, it's such an important day for you." Suho said.
"It's not a big deal, it's just another birthday." I said with a sincere smile. "At least we're all together now."
"Oh really, eh?" Tao chuckled. "Sehun, this girl's a keeper." he teased. I playfully hit him while I just saw Sehun smiling at me.
I went near Mr. Damon for a while and silently prayed. I really hope he wakes up soon. Once I was done, I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"Want to go out for a while?" Sehun asked.
"Why?" I asked.
"I know you don't like the atmosphere here," he said. "Come on, just for a short while."
I just agreed. Sehun and I told the others that we'll be separating for a while. Surprisingly, they didn't even offer to come with us.
We were just walking together outside with his other hand wrapped around my waist.
Is it good that I'm so comfortable right now? It just felt good in my part that Sehun is okay with going in public like this, at least I'm sure that he isn't hesitating to show people that I'm his girl.
"Are we just going to walk aimlessly?" I asked him.
"Aren't you enjoying? You haven't had fresh air for days." he looked at me.
"I'm enjoying," I answered. "This is something that normal couples would do and I am actually glad that we could do something like this together."
"You're not worried about being in public anymore?" He asked.
"Who cares, they don't know us." I giggled.
We passed by another couple who were just holding hands. I noticed the girl looking at us for a moment, particularly at Sehun.
"Do you think she's checking you out?" I whispered.
"No, maybe she just wants her boyfriend to hold her the same way." he said.
I sneaked a glance back at the couple and I noticed that the guy now had his hand around the girl's waist. I stifled a laugh, he's actually right.
"I want to make most of everything right now," I said. "Aleister and Lucas might come back, right?"
I noticed that Sehun's expression changed. "Actually Paige, you need to know something." I suddenly felt nervous. Why is he serious all of a sudden?
Sehun held both of my hands and told me everything. My eyes widened as he told me the whole story. I couldn't believe that I would do something like that.
"I... I killed him." I said. "And I almost killed you too." I felt like throwing up. How could I do something as horrible as that?
"All you did was get back at Lucas for everything Paige, I would've died if you didn't do anything that time." Sehun said.
"But still... I killed someone." no matter how evil Lucas is, and even if he did deserve it... I still can't help but feel bad for him. He died without even repenting for his sins and I also think that I went way overboard.
I looked at Sehun's hand and I saw a scar in between his index and middle finger. This must be the cut he's talking about when he stopped me.
"I'm sorry for this," I said as I kissed it. "I won't hurt you again. I'm so sorry." I said softly.
"No need to apologize, this is nothing." he says.
"I must've been such a handful, huh?" I asked.
He simply pulled me close and kissed my forehead. "Not for me."
I couldn't help but smile. So this is what it's like to have a boyfriend, or to have someone you love.
Sehun and I continued with our walk. He kept telling me about what happened while I was out. It must've been so embarrassing on his part yet I still couldn't help but laugh at him.
We returned to the hospital after walking and talking together. We entered Mr. Damon's room and we noticed that the only person in there was Lay.
"Where are the others?" Sehun asked but Lay just shrugged.
"Surprise!" The door opened and I saw everyone else entering.
I saw that Baekhyun was holding a cake, Tao and Chanyeol were holding mini party poppers and the rest had food and beverages.
"Happy Birthday Paige, we hope you don't mind a late celebration." Suho said.
I had my hands clasped over my mouth since I was really surprised. Wait, so this is why Sehun invited me to go out for a while.
"We can't make too much noise since we're at a hospital but I think this is okay with you." Xiumin said.
"Thank you guys so much," I said happily. "This is too much just for me."
"You deserve the best," Baekhyun said. "Although we know this isn't the best but knowing you, I know you'd like this."
"I love it. I'm so lucky to have you guys watching out for me. Before meeting all of you, I thought I didn't have a family anymore and now I'm with all of you." my eyes became watery. This is so overwhelming but I don't want to cry.
"Make a wish Paige," Chanyeol said as pointed the candle.
"I want Mr. Damon to wake up so that we can all be one big happy family again," I looked at Mr. Damon before blowing the candle.
"This girl," Xiumin shook his head as he smiled at me. "You didn't even make a wish for yourself."
"Well everyone has done so much for me, and I owe my life to Mr. Damon for saving me so I really want him to wake up soon."
I looked at all of them again then smiled. "Thank you so much for this, I'm really genuinely happy for all of your efforts. I don't know what I did to deserve this."
"A girl like you is worth giving effort to." Sehun said.
"Ah... Our youngest brother isn't a baby anymore." Luhan teased and the others joined in.
"Knock it off," Sehun groaned.
"Let's eat, I've been staring at the cake long enough." Chen whined.
We happily celebrated together for the rest of the day. It's been a while since I had a memorable birthday so I'm really happy. I feel so loved.
I looked around everyone that's happily eating, to Chanyeol that's currently making Mr. Damon smell the cake because he thinks it's a way to wake him up, to Baekhyun and Chen who are joking around like usual, to Suho who's telling them to keep quiet then to Sehun who's right beside me.
Someday... Maybe someday when all our problems are over, we can finally be happy without having any more worries.
