Guys I'm so sorry for not updating in over a month. I'm having writers block; I know what I want to happen but I dunno how to get to those points! I need some time to plan everything out fully instead of the loose ideas I have right now. Thanks ^_^ Also, I'm sorry if there's spelling mistakes, it's late and I have school tomorrow so I couldn't go back to edit it. I'll do it after school tomorrow XD

Third Person POV

"C'mon, c'mon...."

Donnie's pupils shrunk as he stuck his eye up to the microscope. Abby used a dropper to put a yellowish looking liquid on top of a sample of Karaii's DNA. A half-empty box of pizza sat on the same lab table the two mutants were working at, a cup of coffee next to Donnie as he sipped it to keep himself awake. The two brainiacs had barely slept the night before, determined to figure out a solution to the brain worm.

As soon as the work-in-progress reverse brain worm serum touched Karaii's DNA, there was a big POOF! and a small cloud of smoke, and when it cleared, both the DNA and the serum had dissipated.

Abby let out a frustrated groan, crossing off the formula they had used.

"On to number 58!" she announced with a hollow laugh. Donnie's eyes fell to his work, his mouth twisted into a scowl.

"Why is this so difficult?!" he complained, the failed attempts starting to tick him off. Abby shook her head in an 'I dunno' fashion as Donnie prepared for the next test.

Out in the living room, Leo and Raph stood across from each other at a foosball table. Raph reached behind his back and spun one handle, quickly doing a 360 degree turn and spinning another. He blocked almost all of Leo's attacks, and the score was 9-9. Almost all of his attacks.

Leo chipped the ball over Raph's player's head and landed it in the goal as he switched his score to a 10. "Yes! I win, I win!" Leo celebrated. Raph scowled, crossing his arms.

"You just got lucky," he grumbled.

Mikey bounced into the room, Kayla by is side. Their eyes were glued to the screen of Mikey's t-phone.

"Ooh, comment about that!" Kayla suggested snatching the phone from Mikey's hands. She quickly typed something before Mikey reached for his device.

"Hey, gimme it! I wanna comment too!" he whined playfully, grabbing the phone and replacing Kayla at the keyboard.

He turned it sideways once he was finished, and tapped the middle of the screen. A girl's muffled voice reached Raph and Leo's ears as Kayla and Mikey giggled.

"I bet he's watching YouTube again," Raph snickered. Leo nodded in agreement, smirking.

"Rematch?"

"Rematch."

The two oldest turtles resumed their playing just as April and Casey entered. Casey hopped over the subway ticket-takers while April simply pushed the spinner as she walked through.

"Hey guys!" she greeted cheerfully. Leo glanced up for a split second before turning his attention to the foosball.

"Hey, April," he replied, eyes narrowed in concentration. He skillfully flicked the offensive characters and the ball clattered into the goal on Raph's side.

"Shell!" Raph cursed. He grabbed the ball and held it in his hand as Casey raced over. "'Sup, Case?"

Raph dropped the ball in, starting the game up again.

"Not much. Just a Purple Dragon beatdown brought to you by Casey Jones himself," Casey laughed. April rolled her eyes with a smile as she went to see what Kayla and Mikey were doing on the couch.

"If I remember correctly, I'm the one who took down Hun while he was giving you a beatdown," she teased. Casey scowled, turning to his friend's game. April looked at the video playing on Mikey's t-phone and asked, "Who's that?"

"Dunno. We just saw the vid and played 'cause it looked cool," Kayla replied, her eyes still on the screen. Mikey nodded. April shook her head before heading into the lab.

"You guys beat up some idiots and didn't tell me?" Raph asked with mock hurt as he continued to play, Leo almost scoring again. Casey smirked as he nudged Leo, making him loose control of his goalie and allowing Raph to score. Casey high-threed his friend while Leo reset the ball.

Kenzie and Sarah stood across from each other in the dojo. Sarah's injured leg had gealed enough for her to put some pressure on it, and Kenzie seemed fine with her ankle despite small jolts of pain she got from time to time. Splinter had decided he would begin to train them, leaving Kayla ti heal more and letting Abby work with Donnie in the lab. The mutant rat stood under the tree, observing his two new students prepare to fight. As he issued the command to start, the friends charged at each other, aiming to disarm their opponent.

A huff of concentration was heard from the lab as Abby was carefully mixing a new version of the anti-brain worm serum. Karai hissed from her containment spot when the door creaked open.

"Hey guys," April greeted. Donnie grinned as he continued working.

"Hey April!" he exclaimed. Abby jumped at his sudden outburst, shaking her head.

"Hi," Abby said. April walked over.

"Watcha doin'?" she asked. Donnie immediately stood up straight to look at the redhead, ready to explain.

"Nothing. Just working on the reverse brain worm serum for Karaii," Abby said before the purple-masked turtle could. She nodded to the tied up snake/human as she swished the contents of her beaker in front of her eyes, examining it.

"I dunno Donnie, it doesn't look right," Abby sighed as she filled a dropper with the new mixture. She dropped it onto Karaii's DNA sample and watched it through the microscope. The sample had weird, pink, spiky orbs surrounding the DNA strands, which the smart turtles had determined as the brain worm serum affecting her DNA. If the spiky orbs disappeared, that meant the serum worked. So far the two had made no progress.

The pink spheres dilated for a few seconds before shrinking into oblivion. Abby's head shot away from the sample, yelling, "Yes!"

She quickly looked back, and to her dismay saw the pink orbs returning, popping back into their places and some even reproducing.

"No!" she groaned, slumping her shoulders. Donnie sighed.

"Alright, next try!" he said with fake enthusiasm. April stuck her eye up to the microscope as Abby emptied the useless substance from the beaker.

"Why don't you try angering it out of her like with Raph, Slash, and Doctor Rockwell?" April suggested. Abby shook her head slightly, her eyes tired.

"We already tried. Not even telling her the truth about Splinter and Teng Shen will get that worm out. Shredder's been improving," Abby replied, dismissing the idea. She walked over to Donnie. "What's the next chemicals?"

Donnie recited some suggestions to add, and Abby went to work as Donnie sat in a chair dejectedly.

"We're running out of options," he muttered. "C'mon Donnie, think!" Abby found herself surprised that Donnie was acting this way in front of April.

April patted Donnie's shell. "Hey, you'll think of something."

Abby was sure that would make him start working, but he simply nodded and gave her a small smile. Abby pursed her lips but didn't say anything, continuing to mix different chemicals.

"Need any help?" April asked, peering over Abby's shoulder. Shrugging, the female turtle swirled the mixture around. It was an odd yellow color, almost orange but not quite. April looked at it with a weird expression. "That doesn't look pleasant."

The redhead let out a short laugh, making Abby laugh lightly in an attempt to pretend the statement was funny. Donnie chuckled at Abby's obviously fake amusement.

"I think I'm good April, but thanks," Abby replied politely, carefully preparing adding the serum to Karaii's DNA.

"Hey Donnie! Get a load of this!"

Mikey's voice echoed through the lab, making Abby jump and jostle the pizza box. A slice of it slipped out and fell into the mixture, making it fizzle before the pizza dissolved. Mikey bounded into the room, phone in hand. Kayla's laughter could be heard from the living room.

Facepalming, Abby groaned, "Mikey, we're working! And now pizza got in my sample!"

The orange-masked turtle's grin faltered for a second before picking back up. "Hey, pizza's the best medicine. And you've got to see this!"

He shoved the phone into Abby's face, the screen projecting a blonde girl talking about Harry Potter. She said something that Abby wasn't really listening too, and Mikey started cracking up.

"Oh! Um, yeah! Hey, how about you go show Casey?" Abby suggested, directing Mikey towards the door. The youngest turtle grinned.

"Good idea, dudette!"

Once he was gone, Abby shook her head with a smile. She returned to her work station, where she saw April dropping the pizza-infected serum onto Karaii's DNA. Abby gasped as the two liquids met, flinching, but nothing happened.

Abby's eyes widened as she grabbed the sample and shoved it hurriedly under a microscope. She looked into the zoomed in lens and saw the pink spheres grow bigger and then smaller, bigger then smaller, and eventually disappeared, just like the last time. Abby kept watching, but the brain worm balls didn't return. Her jaw dropped as she shook Donnie's arm furiously.

Donnie stuck his eye up to the microscope, grinning and showing the gap in his teeth. "We did it!"

Abby whooped as she high-threed the purple-masked turtle.

"You made the serum?" April asked in disbelief. The brainiacs nodded vigorously.

"Mikey is right," Abby laughed suddenly.

"Uh, what?" Donnie questioned. April nodded in agreement.

Abby smiled wide, looking at the cure for Shredder's worms. "Pizza really is the best medicine."
