It had been several hours since she had escaped her living hell, and entered uncharted forest. Listening intently she could hear cars, the highway, cautiously stepping out of the woods, she made her way to the edge of the black asphalt, sticking her thumb out. The cars sped past her, no one stopping, but she figured if she followed the highway she would reach a town, or rest stop. She kept walking, the adrenaline slowly wearing off, from the fear she had felt, and the pain in her feet became noticeable. Eventually a car slowed and pulled off to the shoulder. It was a young man, with two kids asleep in the backseat. She got in the car, "Where are you headed?" He asked, as the car got up to speed. "Blue Springs. Or as far as you'll take me." She said, softly. "Blue Springs is on the way to where we are headed. We can drop you off there." he said, his voice low. "What's your name?" "Anabel Nereza"
