I wasn't dead. Nor was I alive.
So what was I?
"You get to choose your own fate." Pause. "Life or death."
"But before you choose," Pause. "You must see." Riddle.
Another voice.
Another minute.
Tick, Tock. Tick, Tock. The sound could drive someone mad.
Or maybe I already am.
A purple door, out of no where, flings itself open. My feet move without my command, like I'm a puppet on strings. I can't resist nor do I want to. It pulls me into the room and the door thuds loudly with the unnecessary slam.
The room was dark, and smoke (weed?) filled the air. A bright laptop screen was the only light.
"Juustin!'' An over cheery womans voice calls.
Somewhere in the room someone groans. Only, I recognzied it.
"Where am I?" I whisper looking around.
No answer.
The door flung open and a pretty young girl walked in. She flicked on the lights and put her hand on her hips.
"Justin!" She said annoyed. "Get your shit together it's time to watch Ryleigh and Carter."
Alicia. It was Alicia. Only older. She looked more serious, yet the same childish girl. Still had that "swag" look, even though she looked to be.. Maybe 25?
"I know it's hard for you. I know this day was the day Ryleigh died but it's time to move on. The rest of us did. You left O2L, you dropped everything. You have to get your shit together!" Her was softer but rose higher with a hint of pain. "I'm going to go meet up with Danielle, Zoe, Kian and Sam."
She waited for a reply but didn't get one. She sighed and left the room.
What day was it? In the corner of the room I read the calendar.
June 21, 2019.

"Now do you understand?" I was back in the white world.
I nodded my head slowly and what I had just witnessed..
"He killed himself," I said choking on my years "over me?"
All she did was nod. I saw him. I saw Jc kill himself?.
"When they were told you were dead.. Jc snapped. He blamed himself."
"But it wasn't his fault.."
"Exactly."
And that's where the conversation ends. My head pounds and I feel light headed, the next thing I know is I'm back in my hospital room.
It's quiet, like a mouse. Everyone looks sad but Jc by far looks the worst. I have no idea what day it is, but I over hear Alicia mumble "this is exactly why I didn't want you guys hear." And that was all. No one replied, except for the occasional sniffle or cough.
"What's wrong?" I whisper hoarsely, my throat burning and my head still pounding.
All eyes on me.
Happy. Hopeful.
"You're alive.." Jc whispered a tear trickling down his cheek.
