Ari had led a normal life until it was turned upside down by something out of this world (literally). She's been pulled into another land's century-old conflict and has no place to go but forward into its heart. What troubles will this lead her to?
My view:
When I read the first little part (a semi-prologue maybe?) I found that I could relate. I know what it's like to live an incredibly boring life and to want to just escape. Hence my writing - it's a way of freedom!
It was definitely an interesting hook, nabbed my attention immediately.
Reading on, Ari is a brilliant protagonist. Interesting and brave, courageous even in the face of danger.
The story has some really great details and descriptions, especially when describing the dangerous creature - and more importantly emotions.
I could almost feel her fear.
Brilliant so far!
