"This house will be your shelter," Eeteuk took Jessica on a tour around the house.
The living room was big but then the rooms after that were even bigger. There was a dining room slash kitchen with a size equal to a dance ballroom.
There were no dining table but in exchange there were small chairs and pillows on a thick rug. A large plasma TV stood awkwardly in the middle of the
pillows. On the corner of that huge room was a fireplace. A small coffee table, knee high, placed on a perfect distant with pillows as its chairs.
"Bedrooms are upstairs," Eeteuk pointed up.
Yuri pulled Jessica's hand and led her upstairs, Eeteuk followed from their back.
The upstairs were separated by blocks of rooms, creating short corridors between them.
"There are twenty rooms in total," said Eeteuk. He moved to the first corridor.
"These rooms right here are occupied, Yuri's room are over on that side," he pointed to another end of the second floor.
Jessica counted thirteen rooms on that side.
"Taeyeon's room beside Yuri's and the rest of the room are empty. You can choose whichever you like. I'd recommend the end near the window. You
can see Taeyeon's garden from there, it's beautiful."
Eeteuk smiled and then tapped Yuri's shoulder, "you guys must be tired, go get some rest."
Yuri did a salute pose and smiled. They watched Eeteuk climbed down the stairs.
"Yuri-ssi??" Jessica whispered.
"Hm?"
Jessica wanted to ask about Eeteuk. Did he ever kill? Or will he kill her? Because the visions she saw was real. But then she hesitated. I'll figure out myself.
"Never mind."
Yuri frowned. "Okay, so," Yuri turned to Jessica, "what do you think?"
Jessica looked around the house again. She liked it, well, aside from Eeteuk.
"It's perfect."
Yuri walked to the row of doors next to her room, "let's find your room."
Jessica trailed behind Yuri. Yuri led her to the last room on the corridor. She opened the door.
The room was spacious. A middle sized bed placed in the middle of the room. There were big windows on each side of the bed. Jessica walked in to the
room. On the wall opposite to the window were two doors. One door leads to a walk in closet and another one leads to a bathroom.
"Jessica," Yuri called her, "here, look," Yuri pointed to the outside of the window.
Jessica looked down. In the back of the house was a garden with a gazebo in the middle of it. It was beautiful.
"Wow, beautiful."
"Every time Taeyeon Reaches us, we go there," said Yuri, "she loves that garden very much."
Jessica nodded. So the place she saw inside her head was there.
"Look, this place might not be as comfortable as your orphanage but at least we, you, don't have to run."
"It's great. Thanks," Jessica gave Yuri her best smile.
Yuri walked to the door, "you might want to wash up. Go down after you finish. Let's have breakfast."
"Um, Yuri-ssi?," Jessica stopped her.
"Yeah?" Yuri turned around.
Jessica hesitated. She was not sure why did she call Yuri. It was just a bit hard to see Yuri go. She felt like she knew Yuri for so long. She wanted to tell
Yuri that she kept seeing her in her visions but she didn't.
"Um, nothing," Jessica looked down, embarrassed.
Yuri laughed, "you do that a lot, huh? You miss me already?" she teased.
Jessica threw a naughty smile and pushed the door, "I need some clothes."
Yuri smirked, "I'll get you some."
Jessica closed the door and pressed her forehead on it, giggling. Yuri also leaned on the other side of the door. Her whole body felt so warm.
"Why the hell did I flirt?" she knocked her own head, smiling.
**
Jessica came out from her room after washing up. She wore a blue sweat shirt and a pair of comfortable jeans Yuri had put on her bed. Jessica climbed
down the stairs to the large room. Yuri was in the kitchen, making some juice.
"Yuri-ssi," Jessica called.
Yuri turned to her, "hey, you're all set. I'm glad that the clothes fit. Want some ma juice?"
Jessica shook her head, "what is that?"
"It's good for your skin," Yuri poured the juice to a tall glass.
Jessica took a seat on a pillow near the TV, "thanks for the clothes. It's comfortable."
"That's mine actually," Jessica turned around to the voice behind her. A girl walked in with Eeteuk. Her hair was short, only reached down to her neck
where a key necklace dangled on her neck. The same pattern with Taeyeon's padlock necklace.
Jessica stood up and bowed, "oh, annyeong haseyo. I'm sorry, I thought?."
The girl stopped her and smiled. Her eyes went missing somewhere when she did. "No need to bow. I'm Tiffany."
"I'm Jessica," Jessica bowed again, Tiffany bowed too and then she smiled again.
"Please, don't bow. I've been crouching all morning tending the garden, my back is a bit sore."
Jessica bit her lower lip.
"I forgot to introduce you that there is another one living here," Yuri smiled.
Eeteuk yawned and dropped himself on the pillows.
"Oppa!" Tiffany yelled, "take off your shoes before you enter the house!"
"Huh?" Eeteuk dazzled, "we never take off our shoes in the--."
"Look at your shoes!" Tiffany pointed to the dirty muddy marks on the floor, "where have you been!?"
Jessica's ears started to ring.
"I--," Eeteuk stood up.
"Go clean it up!" Tiffany slapped Eeteuk's arm.
Eeteuk took off his shoes and walked to the kitchen. Before going to the bathroom he opened the fridge and took something inside an sandwich foil.
"Oppa!" Tiffany yelled again, "don't you even think about it!"
Eeteuk froze and put the sandwich back at its place.
"Taeyeon made that for me," Tiffany hissed.
"Fine," Eeteuk yawned again and hopped on the kitchen counter, fiddled with clean glasses hanging on the shelves.
"Oppa!"
"What!?" Eeteuk frowned.
"I told you to clean the floor!" Tiffany crossed her arms, "do it now!"
Eeteuk pouted, "you're? bossy."
This girl is so loud.
Jessica felt like she could like this girl immediately. But she frowned when she saw Eeteuk's back disappeared into the bathroom.
He doesn't seem deadly.
**
Jessica chilled down at the gazebo in the middle of the garden with a cold ma juice. She stared down to the vast prairie behind the house. It was
peaceful. She wondered to herself how and why did this happen?
She opened her palm. The Gifted. If she was the same person as Yuri then she should be able to do the same thing Yuri did.
Maybe I could shot some lightning from my hand too.
Jessica raised her palm to the air.
"Boom!" she shouted.
Nothing happened.
"Blast!" Nothing happened.
"Zap!" Still nothing.
"How should I do it?" Jessica pouted, "how does she do it?"
She pointed her index finger to her juice glass. If only she was able to do what Yuri did yesterday, she could protect herself, and the children, Seohyun
and Mother. She wouldn't have to be here. She was angry to herself.
Suddenly her visions blurred and her whole body shook. Blue light shot up from her finger and destroyed her juice glass.
Jessica fell to the ground, surprised.
"You're okay?" Yuri walked to the gazebo from the house.
Jessica stood up, surprised and embarrassed. "I'm fine," she quickly dusted of the dirt in her jeans, "sorry I broke the glass."
"Don't worry, the first thing I broke when I was learning is a car," Yuri laughed.
"A car?" Jessica laughed.
Yuri smiled.
"How did you--," Jessica stuttered between her laugh, "a car?"
Jessica leaned on a pillar, supporting herself from falling.
"Okay, okay, enough," Yuri frowned, "you can't stop when you start laughing, huh?"
Jessica pressed her stomach. "Omo? okay, okay, I'm done."
They both fell silent for a while.
"So we can actually learn this stuff?" asked Jessica.
"Yeah, and you are going to learn it. I'll teach you," Yuri nodded.
"Really?"
Yuri smiled, "but beware, I'm a harsh teacher."
