Mirror, Mirror

By hypnotizedbyhood

Trigger Warning: this poem deals with eating disorders, just letting you know.

Mirror, mirror, what do you see?

'I see a fat girl looking at me.'

What is that horrible sound?

'The cries of the fat girl that weighs eighty pounds.'

Eighty pounds? How old could this fat girl be?

'Well, she is only twenty.'

Mirror, mirror, what do you see?

'I see a fat girl that looks starving.'

When is the last time that she truly ate?

'Today is April ninth, she had her last meal on March twenty-eighth.'

Oh my, she must be starving. Is she okay?

'She looks at me, and then she cries every day.'

Mirror, mirror, what do you see?

'I see a fat girl that looks unhealthy.'

Is she really that fat? She looks so skinny!

'You may be able to see her bones, but that doesn't mean a thing.'

Please, you have to help her, do it for her, not for me!

'All I do is look at her, I can't help set her free.'

Mirror, mirror, what do you see?

'I see a fat girl as hopeless as can be.'
