After he left
The hands of time
Didn't quite work
The same anymore

Life became a slow motion
Mirage of what ifs and
Distant memories
Reliving the past
In streaks of lightning
Haunting her while
Every flash was left
Ingrained in her brain
Only to disappear
Mere seconds later
As she convinced herself
That this was progress
Yet all she did was relive
Happy moments that now
Contribute to her broken state

She's not mad that he left
As she slowly took the strength
She once had
The strength she wasted
leaning on him
And invested it within herself

A worthy recipient
Of her shining sun
And her thunderclouds
Someone who will appreciate
The three days of relentless rain
Just to get a glimpse
of the morning sunrise

She will not prove to him
That she is better without him
She will prove to herself
That she will never truly
Have to weather her storm alone

While she may create her own hurricanes
She is capable of moving mountains
And radiating life within herself
She will be okay
