Liz's P.O.V
My eyes opened as the bright sun pulled me from sleep. I blinked a few times before closing my eyes again to try and get more sleep. The familiar aroma of salt filled my senses and my eyes opened, widening as I jumped up, feeling the area around me. Blue was all I could see and I began to panic, thoughts of me being kidnapped filled my mind.
But when I saw the black suitcases sitting by the window, I stilled and stared at them. Maine. I was in Maine. I was home.
Memories of the last twenty four hours came back to me and I groaned, holding my head in my hands as sadness filled my body. I wanted to go back in time to when I was in L.A. again, where it was warm and I had friends there. When I was still on the X Factor and I spent all my time with the girls. It's hardly been twenty four hours and I missed them terribly.
The sound of the doorbell caused me to fall back onto my pillows, the color blue surrounding me. I haven't been in here in four months, I had almost forgotten what it looked like. I looked over at my alarm clock, sighing when I saw that it was barely eight o'clock. I closed my eyes and pulled the covers around my cold body, wishing for the warm L.A weather again.
I heard someone running up the stairs and I groaned, rolling my eyes at whoever it was that I would be killing later. The door to my room opened and I sighed, "Go away Kacey, I'm not in the mood to play right now." I mumbled, half asleep.
"Well if you don't want to play than I guess I'll go home." My eyes widened as I recognized the voice and I sat up, turning to look at her. Her familiar brown eyes met mine and I nearly screamed, climbing off of my bed to hug her. She already had ideas to hug and she practically fell on top of me as I tried to get off the bed.
I laughed loudly as she rolled off of me, and I sat up to face her. "Oh my God, Nat, I missed you so much." I said, hugging her.
"I know, I know. I missed you too. I can't believe that it's been four months since I've seen you." Natalie said, hugging me back. She abruptly pulled away and glared at me. Before I could say anything she smacked my arm. I flinched backwards, leaning against my pillows.
"What was that for?" I asked, holding my arm.
"What was that for? Elizabeth Marie Johnston, do you realize that you've met and sang with the only boy band that matters. And then on top of that, you were seen leaving a club with Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson! What have you been up to?" Natalie said, crossing her arms and shaking her head at the end.
I laughed quietly, nodding my head as well. A lot has happened in the four months that I've been gone and Natalie is going to love everything about it. "Um, well I obviously met One Direction. Oh Nat, you're going to love them even more. I swear, they are amazing. Everything that we've heard about meeting them is true. They are just the nicest. I mean, they're typical guys that joke about sex and that sort of shit, but they are still so amazing." I gushed.
"Sex? Shit? Since when did you start saying that sort of stuff? I guess it was Julie, she's got the mouth of a sailor. But anyway, that must have been amazing. I can't believe you even sang with them. That must have been just... I don't even have the words to say." Natalie said.
"That's not even the best part!" I nearly screamed with excitement. "Look at this." I said, grabbing Horsey from beside me and handing the stuffed unicorn to Nat. "You'll never guess who gave me that." I said, smiling. My cheeks were beginning to hurt with how much I was smiling.
"Who? Please tell me it wa-"
"Niall." I cut her off. "It was Niall that gave me it, her name is Horsey and I'm never going anywhere without her." I said.
Natalie squealed, hugging the stuffed unicorn and bouncing up and down on the bed. "Oh my God, I can't believe that I'm touching something that he touched. This is so amazing. This so beats the time tha-"
"He asked me out." I cut her off again. Natalie stopped moving all together and stared at me.
"What?" She asked.
"Niall asked me out on a date. I don't know when and where but I'm going to go on a date with him." I said.
Natalie squealed and threw Horsey, wrapping her arms around me, causing us both to fall backwards. I laughed loudly as she sat back up, still squealing and saying things that I could not understand. She grabbed my hands and pulled me up so we were both standing on my bed, before jumping up and down. I laughed as I jumped with her.
"I can't. Oh my God... how in.... why.... you're going on a date with Niall Horan!" She squealed, throwing her arms around me again. I laughed and nodded, hugging her back.
"There's one more thing." I said, pulling away and getting ready to jump again. "He kissed me. On the lips. In his hotel room. Twice." I said.
Natalie's mouth dropped open and she was quiet for a few seconds before really screaming and jumping up and down. "Jesus Christ this is big news! I'm hearing wedding bells and seeing children. My best friend has been blessed with the lips of a God." She said.
I laughed as I fell onto the bed again, sitting crisscross. "Oh Nat, it was amazing. He's amazing. You're going to love him even more, I swear it." I said.
Natalie sat down across from me and she opened her mouth to reply, but her eyes widened and she slapped my arm again. "You can set me up with Liam! He has to dump Danielle but we could date." Natalie joked.
"We'll see about that. God, I can't believe that this is my life. I'm going on a date with the guy I've been crushing on since two thousand ten, I'm moving to London, my favorite city, and I've been signed with Sim-"
"You're moving to London?" Natalie asked, her smile dropping. My smile dropped too and I realized that I had let it slip that I was moving. I haven't told anyone yet and I wanted to tell my parents first.
"Uh... yeah? I know it's going to be such a change and I'm sorry for that, but either way I would have been moving. And you'll be so busy with school that you'll hardly notice I'll be gone. And you can come visit anytime and I'll pay to fly you out and everything will be paid for and I'm sorry." I said.
Natalie was quiet for a minute, such a drastic change to just a few minutes ago. She opened her eyes and stared at me for another few seconds before she spoke. "I'm happy for you. I'm so fucking happy for you. Everything that you've ever wanted is falling into place and now you're living your dream. I'm not going to take that away from you. It sucks that you're moving so far away, but we'll get through it. I'll come visit and you'll come visit home." She said.
I smiled, wrapping my arms around her shoulders. "You're so amazing Nat, you know that. I honestly never could have done any of this without you." I said, pulling away from her.
"I know," Natalie replied cockily. "Now tell me everything about the X Factor. I want all the details."

I sat down at the kitchen table, setting my phone next to the plate as the smell of salmon filled the air. The table was full of conversation as my family sat around it. I smiled as I looked around at all of them. It's been a while since I've had a family dinner. Being that my parents were the only ones that could fly out for the finals, I haven't seen my siblings in a while or been with them all at the same time for a while. I hadn't realized how much I missed them until I was with them again.
My mom had made my favorite food, as far as she knows- she doesn't know that it's Chinese - teriyaki salmon. I'd much rather have had Chinese but I knew how much she wanted tonight to be special for my homecoming. I wouldn't be seeing my extended family until Christmas, they were all coming over to spend the holiday with us and to see me after not seeing me for a long, long time.
"So Lizzie, how are you feeling? Are you happy to be home?" Mom asked. I had yet to tell them about London. I didn't want to ruin our first day here together. I'm planning on telling them the news tomorrow.
"I'm really happy to be home. I've missed you weirdo's." I said, looking at Toby. He rolled his eyes and flipped me off. I laughed and grabbed my fork, cutting into the fish to fill my empty stomach.
Conversation filled the table again and Kacey announced how happy she was that I was home and how happy she was to finally be on winter break. My phone vibrated on the table and I looked down, smiling when I saw that the one I've been waiting to talk to, has finally messaged me.
Niall: I can't sleep, help
Liz: That's not my problem, I'm eating dinner
Niall: It's only six there, right? It's eleven here.
Liz: And to think that we were in the same hotel yesterday morning and now we are in separate countries
Niall: Don't remind me -_-
Liz: lol sorry
Liz: You could always read a book to get you to sleep
Niall: ha, I don't read
Liz: I do and it's better than anything else
Liz: Except singing
Niall: Better than me?
Liz: You should be ashamed of yourself if that's going to be how you flirt
Niall: Yeah, you're right
Niall: So I have a question about our date
Liz: What?
Niall: What if we didn't wait until we are in the same country, which could be months from now. What if we have our first date over Skype? It's not perfect but I thought that it could be cool and fun
Niall: Hello? Did you not like the idea? We could do something different
Liz: I'm sorry, I accidently dripped water on my pants
Liz: But that seems like a lot of fun. Can we have Chinese?
Niall: Somehow I knew that you were going to ask that... but yes, we can.
Liz: Yes!! Chinese is literally the best thing ever. Oh hey, by the way, I told my best friend about you and our date
Niall: Oh really? Natalie, right?
Liz: Yup. She compared you to a God and jumped on my bed
Niall: Well that's a good comparison, don't you think?
Liz: Full of yourself. But yes, it is. Hold on I have to unload my dishwasher come help
Niall: Would if I could babe
Niall: You're taking forever
Niall: You don't want to talk to me, do you?
Niall: I knew it. I'll just leave you then
Niall: Seriously, where are you?
Niall: Lizzzzzzzzzzzz
Liz: Never thought that I would have you blowing up my phone lol
Niall: Never thought that I would actually have your number
Liz: Before or after you told me you stalked me?
Liz: lol I'm kidding, I actually I find it cute
Niall: You stalked me too
Liz: I know, but that's totally different. And I'm sorry for this, but I have to go. My parents are taking us out for hot chocolate and I have to get ready. It's 30 degrees out so I need to dress in like, a million scarves. But I'll text you tomorrow?
Niall: Don't forget to Liz. And let me know when you're free for our date
Liz: I will, bye Ni and get some sleep
Niall: I will Liz, talk to you tomorrow xxx
