I alter myself so much according to what people want, I've realised. Ever since the day I told Jack he'd be working to get me, I started to feel confident. My makeup slowly faded from my face again.
Funny, isn't it, how this all happen?
We were going to () today, where we're going to visit some local children and things like that. After packing our suitcases, we piled into the newly rented car that fortunately fit 6 people. Jack and I piled into the last two seats, while Finn and Emmy where in the backseat.
Jack's hand kept snaking over to my thighs and resting there, right before I smiled and pushed it away. I could see his hidden smirk. I couldn't repress the mischievous smile that was forming on my lips. "Jack, stop it," I mumbled very lowly under my breath, hoping no one would be able to hear it over the One Direction CD Emmy was playing.
Jack leaned over to my ear, "Why? I think you quite like it," he whispered, letting his lips graze over my ear intentionally. "If you don't want to take it slow, and you just wanna take me home," he whispered again in a low, deep voice that made shivers go down my spine, and made me want to grab him and kiss him fiercely. I shifted uncomfortably, and evidently satsified, he leaned back.
"Jack," I protested faintly again, hoping no one could figure out or realise the exchanges Jack and I were having. Just then he winked at me cheekily.
"Earth to the people in the backseat!"
This snapped Jack and I from our fixation on each other, and we looked away. "I was saying we're here already, you can get out of the car now," Emmy said in a sassy way, pouting just a little bit. Finn picked her up again, just to tease her and take her attention off us. I made to get off the car first, but then Jack childishly pushed in front of me.
I fake gasped. "Jack! Where are your manners?" I mocked in a posh tone, just as I pushed past him and grabbed his wrist, pulling him out of the car with me. I heard his chuckle from behind me, and we joined everyone else on the pavement. "I'll be your cameraman for tonight, I guess?"
Finn nodded. "Thanks a lot," he said, shooting me a smile.
Suddenly, I felt like talking to Finn was awkward again. But then again, we were never fully comfortable in each others' presence. Not from the very start.
Just to clarify things up a little, Jack and I were in no way dating. The most you could say was the he was sort of courting me- we were like, in the stage where we act all flirty and shy (shy in my case anways) around each other, and he's charming the living shit out of me, even though I deny it most of the time.
I set the camera and starting shooting their video.
The whole ordeal had taken up nearly 5 hours, so when we were finished, the sun had set already. Rebecca and Andy told us they and Emmy would go out to have dinner and go back to the hotel, and if we were finished, we should have dinner by ourselves.
We actually ended up having dinner with the children at the centre, and went out for a few drinks (even though I've not reached legal age yet). We drank so much that night it was sort of impossible. It turned out that Jack and Finn smoked when they were intoxicated. They convinced me to try a cig, but after choking on it, they laughed and told me to stay away from cigarettes.
When we headed home, we were staggering over our footsteps. I guess Andy and Rebecca had known this would happen, because Emmy was no longer sharing a room with me. I turned out to share a hotel suite with Jack and Finn while the others were in another suite.
"Jack, I told you I'd make you work for me but-"
He smirked at me. "I'm surrendering right here, right now," I declared softly. I hoped that this was all he wanted to hear, and that he wouldn't laugh in my face to inform me how wrong I was to put my trust in him.
He grinned mischievously again, and just about as I was going to genuinely get worried, he suddenly swept me off my feet (like quite literally). My eyes closed immediately. "Jack!" I giggled.
And then I was defying gravity, flying through the air until I reached a soft mattress with a soft "thud". I yelled a little in alarm, and he laughed at the sound I made. "Brilliant. I think I should make you scream more often," he suggested in a sexual tone.
I blushed, and looked away, so I didn't notice when he hovered over me. When I turned back, he was looking into my eyes, lips a few centimetres from mine. To tease him, I kissed him on the lips lightly and just turned away. His lips searched for more, and ended up on my cheek.
"Challenge accepted," he said huskily, breath tickling my cheek as he pushed me further back the bed, now on top of me, only supporting himself with his arms. I couldn't help but look over at his muscles working to support himself. He caught my glance, and grinned, satisfied.
He started to lightly move his lips to the corner of my lips and started to trail light kisses down my jawline. "Jack..." I moaned lowly at him, desire lacing through my body.
He chuckled, and started sucking at the skin on my neck. He moved lower down my collarbone, his tongue softly poking out to lick my skin. "You sure like saying my name a lot," he mumbled against my cool skin, his warm breath sending shivers down my back.
"If you're going to do her, please close the door. I can hear you guys," Finn's voice came from the doorway, and then closed the door for us.
I blushed, and my hand flew to my forehead, covering my eyes in embarrassment. "Oh my god, that was the most awkward moment ever, hands down."
Jack grinned. "Oh no, that wasn't. You're going to have much more embarrassing moments now that you're my girlfriend."
I decided to tease him. Again. "Oh, who said I was your girlfriend, now?"
He smirked at me. "Are we going to play that game, Beth? Are you sure you want to?"
"Hmm, what?" I asked, pretending to be innocent. Then, instead of kissing me or anything, he decided to tickle me. Giggling, I started to move away and squirm a bit, but then he took my arms and locked them above my head.
"Jack! No!" I said, bursting into hysterics- he had found me ticklish spot, and was using it in his advantage. The space on the side of my hips were the most ticklish, and he was now pulling up my shirt so he could tickle my bare skin. "Ahhh! Please-"
He chuckled, and suddenly stopped when he looked into my eyes. I was locked into place by his mesmerising green eyes. Slowly, he lowered himself and planted light kisses over my stomach. Arching my back, I moaned as his warm lips brushed my cold skin. "Oh my god-" I breathed.
"I've wanted to do that since the beach, when I watched Finn comfort you," he whispered. "I've known since then."
"Oh, really?" I smiled.
"Oh, do we really need to prove that again?" He asked cheekily, aiming for my neck again until I laughed and pushed him away quickly. "Okay, we don't then."
I rolled my eyes, but still smiled at him. "So Jack, now what? Are we going to have to break up after holidays then?" I suddenly asked, a frown pulling at my lips. A sudden veil of darkness swept over me, and I couldn't help but start to be depressed a little.
He saw how my face darkened, and quickly said, "No! I think we could make it work- or, just leave it to be for the school year, and we'll pick things up from how it was before."
"Oh. Okay," I mumbled.
He frowned again. "Come on, Beth. This is going to be fine. We're going to be fine, we'll be the best couple there ever is."
Don't make empty promises you can't keep.
"I hope so, Jack. I really hope so," I whispered, kissing him lightly on the lips.
"Do you want to...?" He whispered.
My eyes widened, and I started stuttering. "I-I... Jack, I- I mean, if you want but- I'd rather not- I mean, not because I don't like you or not because you're unattractive because you're really hot and I did Finn too and he looks like you- sorry! I didn't mean to mention Finn- I mean-"
And then he was all over the place, laughing at me panicking face. I pouted. "Aww, look at you," he said before kissing me on the lips softly again. "It's all right. I don't mind. I just felt sexually needy at that moment. Not after you mentioned doing Finn though," he added, maiking a face.
I flushed. "Jack!"
He chuckled lightly. "All right, let's sleep. We want to wake up early tomorrow."
"Not happening, Jack. We're all going to be hungover," I giggled, as I pulled off my partying dress.
He tried to look away, but failed to. I think he just pulled off his shirt and now I can't help staring. Quickly, I looked away and pulled on a t-shirt, and then tackled the bed. "Oh my god, I'm so tired," I said, which was then muffled by the bedsheets.
Jack grinned, and then climbed into bed after removing his jeans, saying, "Don't worry, I've got boxers on."
I rolled my eyes, and snuggled into his arms. He put an arm around my shoulder, so I spooned into his side, like I always did with a pillow. He chuckled at my posture- I didn't know if it was because he thought it was funny or something, but I liked it.
But I felt like I didn't belong there.
