I wish I could capture the sunlight in a photo
It doesn't glisten the way it does in life
There's a glow, obviously warm
A glow I wish to bottle up and hold
I don't think people see it enough
In passing, but imagine
In the depth of the night
What a ray of sunshine would feel like
To have that and hold close at will
Is such a blessing
Too intense to behold
I hope one day to be so worthy
As the dimming light fades away
I gratefully see it go
I think of the beauty and know the path in place
I will see it again
when the day is done
I will come back out and sit with the sun
And hope it brightens my soul
Just as it did my day
But I will miss it all the same
I'll see you soon my love
