Fuck.
Not when things are going great with her. I can't leave her. She's going to break if I tell her about this. She just went through something bad. Why now?? It was a year ago when I applied for this program. It took so long, I already forgot about this. I really thought they ignored me because I'm not fit for them. Freen and I weren't an item yet at that time and I was still in a relationship with someone else.
But this has been my longest dream. It's one of the hardest institutions to get in. It will look good for my profile in the future. But if I accepted it, that means I will be away from her for a year. It will kills her if she knows this. Hell, I myself don't know if I can be apart from her for that long. But this is something that only comes once in a lifetime. God, why did you hate me so much??
"Babe?? Is something wrong? You look weird."
"N-nothing!"
Shit! She can't know about this! At least not now.

"Have you talk to your professor?"
"Yeah.."
"And..?"
"And nothing. She said it wouldn't be fair to other students. So, yeah.. long story short, I'm still fucked."
Becky was studying using her iPad on the couch with Freen laying her head on her lap.
"Uhmm.. babe..??"
"Yeah?"
"Why is your copy of thesis in my iCloud account?? Here, check this out. It's yours right??"
"My what???"
She immediately gets up and took the iPad to check.
"Uhm.. Freen??"
"HOLY FUCK. Baby, I love you so much right now!"
"I- Okay Freen, I love you too but seriously, care to explain??"
"Right. Uhm.. technically, I'm an idiot. There's one time that I used your iPad to do my thesis. So I must've saved it to your cloud's account. But I swear to God I didn't remember doing so. Maybe it's because I thought I saved it in MY account. That's why when I checked into mine, it wasn't in it. But this is not the latest save files of it, but compared to what I have now, this is so so much better. There's only a few parts missing from the latest save files. Baby, you're my guardian angel and I love you so fucking much right now!"
Freen explained excitedly as she pulled Becky up from the couch and lifted her by hugging her on the waist and spin around in the living room.
"Ohmygod Freen! Put me down! Hahahahahah!"
Freen stopped and they tumbled onto the couch.
"Oh wait, my head is spinning."
"Are you okay???"
Becky asked concerned.
"Yeah, yeah.. hahahaha that was fun!"
"Your whole face lights up Freen. I love seeing you like this."
"I can finish the thesis on time Bec! This is such a miracle! And you know what?? I'm gonna graduate on time! You're coming to my graduation early next year!
"Of- of course!"
Becky tried to cover her hesitation as she kissed the top of Freen's head.

A Few Days Later
"Becbec~ I'm home!"
Freen locked the door behind her as she called for the love of her life.
"You're late~"
"It's only 4 minutes! Did you miss me that much??"
"You know what I can do for 4 minutes?? I can cuddle and kiss you!"
"I love how addicted you are to me."
"What you got there?"
"Oh, these are just ads and flyers from the mailbox."
"Nothing interesting?"
"Not really.. Oh, wait. I think this is for you. Here."
She gave the letter to Becky and once Becky saw the badge of the institution at the top corner of the mail, she knew she's doomed this time.
"Aren't you gonna open it? It looks important."
Freen asked when she saw Becky did nothing with the mail. Obviously Becky didn't want to open it because she knows what it is about.
"It's probably nothing. I'll open it when I'm free."
"Let me see."
"No need for that."
"Here, I'll open it for you."
Becky freaked out when Freen took the letter from her and panic.
"I said, don't!"
Becky gets defensive and raise her voice while she tried to grab the letter back from Freen's hand.
"O-okay. I'm sorry."
Freen was startled and gave the letter back to Becky. She took the letter and ran away upstairs to their bedroom and locked the door.
"Becky, wait! What the f- Bec!"
Freen tried to follow suit but the door was already locked.

"Rebecca, open the door!!"
Freen has been at the door for 30 minutes without any answer from the girl behind the door.
"Baby, did I do something wrong?? I'm sorry okay? Please come out. Or at least let me in. Talk to me okay?? I'm starting to get worried."
Freen finally heard the lock and doorknob being turned. She tried pulling the doorknob and finally, it opened and revealing Becky on the bed with her puffy eyes. There's the opened letter in her hand. She has been crying for 30 minutes and it's making Freen even more confused.
"Bec.. you're not okay aren't you? What is this about??"
Becky didn't answer, she only gave the letter for Freen to read. Freen took the letter and sit next to her and read it. It's pretty much an acceptance letter similar to the email that Becky received. Freen's face dropped when she finished reading it.
"F-Freen..?"
"Congratulations. When are you planning on telling me?"
Her voice stern. Becky didn't know how to read what is Freen's real feelings right now. There's no hint of joy nor sadness or anything. It was.. empty.
"I don't know."
"You're keeping this from me."
"I- I did."
"Why??"
"..."
"You're leaving me."
"Wh- Baby, no one is leaving, okay?"
"You're gonna reject the offer??"
"No.. I- I don't know okay?? I can't think!"
"You never told me about this. I thought we shared everything. What is it actually? How long have you been keeping this from me??"
"Look.. This was a year ago when I applied. And I only received an email a few days ago. It was a Law program, like a.. let's say like an extra curricular course from college. It's only for a year, for you to get exposed and experience at one of the top law school in the world. It's really hard to get in even just for a program like this. Like really really hard. I didn't even think that I'll get accepted because it's been a year, baby. I even forgotten about this. We weren't even together back then, so there's nothing holding me from applying for this."
"If you.. go.. what's gonna happen to us??"
"Nothing. Nothing is gonna happen to us baby. We're still the same. Nothing's changed. Look at me, please."
But Freen refused to do so.
"Then why did you cried??"
"Because I don't know what to do. I know it's gonna hurt you, but at the same time it hurts me too. Baby, I don't want to keep this from you but I've seen you struggling a lot lately and you've just healed from that."
"I'm healed because you're here with me Becky. You keep me sane. What happens when you're gone?"
"Do you not want me to go?"
"I can't make that choice for you."
They were in silence. Both stay still, not even looking at each other. Until the older girl stands up and said something.
*PLAY SONG*
"I'm sorry. I can't do this right now. I need some space and I believe you need it too."
"Where are you going??"
"Anywhere but here."
"Freen.. please.. stay?"
Becky's chest heaved up and down as she was holding back her tears.
"I- I can't baby. I really can't right now. I'm so sorry."
Tears started pooling around her eyes, her lips were trembling, even her hands were shaking. Her whole body feels like jelly once she stepped away from Becky and stormed out of the bedroom.
"Freen!"
Becky was screaming inside her lungs. The pain she's feeling right now is like a bullet through her heart. She clenched her fist to her chest hoping it will ease the pain even just a little.

She pressed the gas of her white Mazda going full throttle. Her cheeks are still sticky with her tears.
*Ring~! Ring~!*
Her phone keeps on ringing for God knows how many times already but it was left unanswered.
*Ding! Ding!*
A text message came in.
BB 🧚🏻 : Freen, my love.. it's been more than 3 hours since you've been gone. I miss you already. At least let me know where you are. You didn't answer any of my calls. I'm worried baby 🥺
*Ding! Ding!*
And another one came in.
BB 🧚🏻 : Baby, please 🥺 Let's talk okay?? We'll make it work. I promise. I love you. I love you so much Freen.
And another.
*Ding! Ding!*
BB 🧚🏻 : I'm sorry. If you don't want me to go, I will not go okay? I'll reject the offer. I just want you baby, please reply to me. I'm begging you. Come home to me. This is your home, remember? I'm your home 🥺

No matter how many calls or texts, she ignored it. It hurts, but it hurts more for a conversation with Becky right now. She needs to get her mind straight.
She drove through the dark night and after a few hours of strolling in her car to nowhere, she finally arrived to her final destination.
*Screeeechhhh!*
She pulled the brake and park her car.
*Ding Dong!*
*Knock! Knock! Knock!*
She pressed the bell and knocked on the door. After a few minutes, she heard footsteps from behind the door and a dog barking.
"Freen?? What time is it? Did something happen??"
"Woof! Woof!"
Phantom wagged his tail.
"Hi.. I'm really sorry to disturb you this late at night. Can I stay here tonight? I'll leave tomorrow. I just need some company tonight."
"Sure, come on in. Make yourself at home."
After a few moments of silence, Knight finally asked.
"Care to share what actually happened??"
"We had an argument."
"Oh.. Do you.. wanna talk about it??"
"No. I just don't want to be alone."
"That's okay. Did she know you're here?"
"No. Please, do me a favour and don't tell her I'm with you."
"O-okay. There's another room upstairs for you to sleep in. I'll get it ready."
"It's okay. No need for that. Can I just have some pillows and a blanket? I'll get the couch. I don't think that I will be sleeping tonight."
"Are you sure? It's not as comfortable as the bed."
"I'm sure. Oh, can Phantom stay with me??"
"Of course. Phantom, boy. Accompany this young lady will you? I'll give you good treats tomorrow okay??"
He rubs Phantom's belly and behind his fluffy ears.
"Woof! Woof!"
Phantom barked as if he understood everything and went over to Freen.
After a few minutes, Knight came back with two pillows and a blanket.
"Here's for you. Please make yourself at home and if anything, you can find me upstairs. Okay?"
"Thank you P'Knight."
Knight went upstairs to his bedroom and took his phone.
P'Knight ⚔️: I know you must be worried to death, but Freen is with me. She asked me not to tell you but I just can't help it. Just.. pretend like you don't know where she is and definitely don't tell her I told you this.
Becky 🦦 : Thank God! Thank you so much for telling me this, at least now I know where she is. I owe you. Please look after her for me?? I'm really worried about her. She wouldn't even reply to any of my texts.
P'Knight⚔️ : Don't worry. At least for tonight. You should go to sleep. She's been taken care of. Phantom is accompanying her too. She'll be fine. How are you?
Becky 🦦 : I'm a mess right now. But knowing that Freen is in good hands, that's a relief. You should go back to bed, it's late. Thank you again, I really mean it. Goodnight.
