meredith leaves and runs to the OR that cristina is in
she puts on a mask as bailey comes to the door
"need something?" bailey asks
"i'm coming in" meredith says
"no, you're not" bailey pulls down her mask
"i am i'm her friend" meredith says
"exactly, she's lying on the operating table, naked, she's sedated but she's probably scared out of her mind, and right now she's not a doctor she's not your friend, she's a patient and she deserves to have all the privacy i can give her, you're not going in there" bailey says
meredith sighs and pulls down her mask
"we went jogging this morning" meredith says "i made her go jogging, there's no way that could've.." she says
"no..no it started out this way, nothing caused it to happen" bailey says
meredith looks into the OR catching her wife's eyes
"you have to let me in there" meredith says
"you can try, but i have to take you down, hey i may be short but you're pretty tiny, i could do it" bailey jokes
"right now, just in this moment, i hate you" meredith says
"yeah, well i can take it" bailey says closing the OR door and going back to cristina

after the surgery bailey stays by cristina's side until she wakes up, meredith constantly checks up on her too
"she'll be okay meredith" addison was walking down the hall and saw meredith come out of her room
meredith ran up to hug her, almost knocking the wind out of addison
"thank you..thanks for saving her" meredith says
"it's my job, mer" addison says stroking her hair
"thanks anyway, i was really worried that it was my fault" meredith says looking back at cristina
"it's not, you should rest meredith" addison says
"i can't sleep, and i'm on call tonight" meredith says
"i'm sorry i won't be here with you then..when you come back there will be a pot of spaghetti waiting for you" addison says
"thanks addie" meredith smiles kissing her on the cheek
they walk over to the nurses station looking through cristina's files
"do you..know who the father is, or was?" addison asks
"if i tell you..you won't freak out?" meredith asks
"i won't" addison says
"it's dr.burke" meredith says looking around
"burke?!" addison says loudly
"shhh, you said you wouldnt freak out" meredith says covering her mouth
addison takes her hand away "burke? what is it with interns sleeping with attendings" addison says
"she hasn't even told him yet, i wonder if he has heard" meredith says
"i saw him running labs for the chief earlier, he was in a rush" addison says
"i just wanna cuddle tonight" meredith says
"me too" addison says "but don't worry you love work" she says
"i used to" meredith says, she sees derek walking by and she takes addisons hand feeling a bit unsafe
"what's wrong?" addison asks
"nothing, your hands are just soft" meredith says
"needed a bit of comfort?" addison asks
"yeah" she nods
after a while of chatting there addison had to go change out of her scrubs and she said goodbye to meredith giving her a kiss before she left
meredith went into cristina's room waiting with bailey
"don't be an idiot" bailey says
"what?" meredith asks
"don't be an idiot, everytime dr.shepherd is near you, you either run away, hide behind me like i'm tall enough to hide you or you take your wife's hand, whatever he did you gotta tell dr.montgomery-grey" addison says
"..he didn't do anything" meredith lies
"you can lie all you want but your face tells the truth" bailey says
"dr.bailey why do you care? respectfully asking" meredith says
"y'all are my interns, of course i have to care cause if you guys break down i won't have interns to teach, im raising y'all so if i fail you, i'll be very disappointed in you and myself" bailey explains
meredith nods "thank you, dr.bailey" she smiles
"mm" bailey says resting head again
the next morning cristina was awake and talking to bailey but meredith was helping patients
after she finished which took two hours she came back and saw cristina laughing, she quickly ran in
"you're awake!" meredith yells
"grey keep it down!" bailey says
"yeah i'm awake" cristina says
"i'll give you guys some time" bailey walks out
"are you okay" she asks
"i'm fine" cristina sits up "so what's happened since i was out" she says
"well addison saved your life, and i was on call all night, bailey cares for the five of us" meredith says
"interesting..there's something you're not telling me" cristina says
"what? how did you know" meredith says
"i know everything, tell me spit it out" cristina says
it took a while for meredith to tell her but she eventually did

flashback:
it had been a couple of days since addisons been around and meredith was happy although she still felt guilty for cheating on her
meredith was on call that night she was with george walking down the hall to check the OR board when a nurse asked for george, she was alone looking around the board when derek came up to her
"meredith" derek says
"..we can't talk" meredith says
"just because you cheated on your wife with me? come on mer you have to speak to me we have to talk about this" derek says
"we did the other night when i went to your trailer to explain, are you drunk? can you not remember?" meredith asks
"no i'm talking about us" derek says "we need to talk about this" he says pointing to meredith then himself
"there is no us, or this i'm married and i have a wife and we are working on our marriage" meredith says when derek takes her hand and pulls her into a supply closet
"but tell me you're not in love with me anymore" he says
"i'm not in love with you derek, i never was maybe at one point i thought you were a great guy and maybe you could've saved me from what i thought my wife had done, but no" meredith says
"all because she stepped back into your life?" derek says
"she's my wife derek, now let me go" meredith says
"that's not fair..at one point you loved me and now what just because she's here you don't anymore?" derek asks
"it's not just because she's here, i never loved you, this is making me hate you more" she says squirming to get out of his grasp
"i'm still in love with you" he says
derek cups her face with his free hand and kisses her hard just like mark did with addison that day
meredith felt his hand moving to her waist and that's when she kicked him and ran out
she ran into addison who looked worried
"hey honey..what's wrong?" she asks
meredith pants "..huh..nothing i was just running to get izzie an emergency" meredith says
"mer, your lip" addison wipes the blood off
"i bit my lip during lunchtime i didn't realize" meredith says
"meredith, are you okay?" addison says
"yeah i'm fine, i need to go find izzie" meredith says and walks away

"i'll kill him" cristina says getting out of bed
"no, no cristina don't, let my wife do it" meredith says
"you haven't even told her" cristina says
"i'm planning on telling her when she gets here" meredith says
"you're an idiot" cristina says
