I can't stand Katie McCabe. All she has ever done is be mean to me, and I have absolutely no idea why. I have smiled at her, played nicely, not once shouted, or raised my voice, but for some reason, she cannot stand me – it's getting a bit painful now.
I just want to understand why.
I walked into the common room this morning to see the room full of players, but one person was missing; Miss Katie Alison McCabe.
"Hey Leah, where's Katie?" I whispered and Leah chuckled a little. "Why? You missing her y/n?" She whispered but I shook my head. "No, just wanted a bit of peace and quiet." I chuckled back, going to sit down on the sofa after getting a drink of water from the fridge.
It was all a bit too quiet in here. It's not like people weren't talking, because they were, but it didn't feel right without that annoying Irish girl yapping in everyone's ear. Who knew I would miss her being annoying so much?
About 10 minutes later, just before we had to get ready for training, there was still no sight of Katie, and it was starting to worry people. "Beth, do you know where Katie is?" Kim asked but Beth just shook her head. "Can someone please at least message her?" She asked again, making people pipe up. "We have messaged her. She just isn't replying." Leah spoke, making me confused and oh so slightly worried.
We all got ready and about to go outside, and that's when Katie came in. "And where were you?" I asked as I was the first one to see her. "Shut the fuck up, y/l/n." She spat back, pissed off already. "Calm down, McCabe. I only asked a fucking question." I whispered, walking outside after I tied up my boots.
The day went by so slowly, with the occasional side eyes from Katie, which was normal, but annoying. I don't understand what I have done to her, and if I ever ask, she just tells me to shut up. It's been like this the whole season, and I don't get it. To put it into comparison, we play the last game of the season tomorrow... It's been a while.
We were all going to hang out after the training session, but we were all so exhausted, so I immediately said goodbye to everyone and got in my car, driving home after everyone decided that we were all too tired to hang out today. We rescheduled it for a later date.
About a week later, officially on off season, I got a message from Kim.

Hey, fancy coming round later? A few of the girls are coming around too. Pizza & movie night? X
Sure! What time? X
Say in about 2 hours? X
I'll be there x
Time went by so quickly, actually, and before I knew it, it was time to start the 20-minute drive to Kim's house. Leah, her girlfriend (Meg), Beth, Viv and Alessia were all there, already spread out across the couch. "Y/n! You're here!" Kim smiled, tapping the space next to her.
About half an hour passed of us just sitting and watching a movie until there was a knock on the door. "I was wondering when she was coming." Meg chuckled as Kim went and opened the door. In walked Katie and my whole heart just sank. I wanted to have a peaceful night for once, away from my emotions and thoughts, but now I've got an annoying Irish girl here too.
The only space on the couch that was free, was next to me, which made me so annoyed that she had to sit there. It's fine though because I'm not going to speak to her anyway. She knew I didn't want to make a fuss, and for some reason, she didn't either.
She sat down next to me, head on the side of the couch, and grabbed the blanket that was placed over my legs and brought it up to her. "Do you mind?" I whispered but she shook her head. "You want it?" She chuckled and I nodded. "Then come closer and you can have it. You don't need to sit so far away from me, you know?" She whispered back and I was extremely confused.
I moved over anyway, and she placed the blanket over both of us as we continued watching the movie. It felt so... strange. However, it also felt so nice.
The night went on and at about 5pm, Kim decided it was pizza time. "Dominos?" She asked and we all nodded in excitement. She ordered a few pizzas for us all to share, and Katie spoke up. "Don't forget that y/n doesn't like meat on pizza." She spoke and we all pulled a confused face. "How do YOU know that?" Alessia asked and I asked the same thing.
"I... pay attention believe it or not. You said it a while back when we ate pizzas before." She whispered and I nodded. "Yeah... I know I did..." I whispered back. The pizzas came and we all ate while watching Disney movies – Alessia's suggestion of course.
The night went on and on and we all started to grow tired, but the person who was the most tired was Katie. She started drifting off to sleep, making all of us laugh. "Shut the fuck up, y/l/n." She muttered; eyes still closed. "You wanna go home?" I asked and she nodded. "I'll take you home. You can't drive this tired." I whispered, expecting her to fight back, but she didn't. "Okay." She whispered; eyes still closed.
We said goodbye to everyone, and I got her in my car. "Where do you live?" I whispered and she gave me her address easily, which was so strange to me. No backchatting, no snide comments. It was so... nice when she was tired. She was so nice when she was tired.
We drove to her house, and I said bye to her, but she didn't get out of the car. "What's up, Katie?" I whispered. "Can you come in with me? Just for a little bit?" She asked in an incredibly soft manner. I couldn't say no to her. I helped her into the house and up to her room, seeing it a complete mess. "Get into bed. I'm cleaning your room." I giggled and she shook her head. "Come sit." She whispered and for some reason, I agreed.
We sat on the bed together and she suddenly woke up properly. "I'm an asshole, you know?" She whispered and I nodded. "I know. Just to me though. Why don't you like me?" I asked back, neither of us looking at each other. "I do like you." She spoke back and I scoffed a little.
"You've been mean to me for a whole season. I want to know why. What have I done to you?" I asked and she chuckled a little. "You... I couldn't.... I just...." She stuttered and I smiled a little, looking at her. "No wait. Don't look at me. I won't be able to say anything." She whispered and I looked back in front of me.
Her hand was laid next to mine on the bed, and she slowly but surely held it in hers. "I had to be mean because if I didn't..." She started and I was really confused. "If I didn't then... I'd feel some other type of way." She continued, and I looked at her. "What type of way?" I asked with a little smile, but still really confused.
"I... I've always liked you. I know I was mean, but I couldn't do what I wanted to do. You were new; you still are. I can't do what I want to do." She whispered again. "Katie... you can do what you want to do." I smiled, hoping it was the same thing as I was thinking. "I can?" She asked and I nodded.
She took her hand out of my hand and slowly put it on my face, pulling me into her and making our lips connect. This felt... It felt good actually. It felt confusing, but good. Our lips kept moving in unison, and I put my hand on her waist, pulling her closer to me. She slowly got up on her knees, keeping our lips connected as she came closer to me, positioning her legs over me so that she was now straddling me.
My hands went to the bottom of her shirt, and I couldn't help but ask myself what I was doing. This is Katie McCabe. This is the girl who has been mean to you every day since you came to Arsenal, and now she's straddling and kissing you?
I slowly but surely pulled up her shirt, resting my hands just under her breasts as we ran out of air. "What are you doing, y/n?" She whispered, a smirk on her face. "I need you to hate me for a bit, please." I spoke and she nodded. "Ohhh. You want THAT?" She asked and I nodded.
"Take off your shirt." She demanded and I shook my head. "I said. Take. Off. Your. Shirt." She grabbed the bottom of it and lifted it above my head, taking it off for me. She immediately kissed me again, her hand travelling down my body to my legs before she started kissing my neck, 100% leaving hickeys there, but I didn't mind.
She bit down, making me whimper in pain, but it was enjoyable, but she looked up at me. "Did I hurt you?" She whispered and I nodded. "Do it again." I demanded and she attached her lips to my neck again, sucking and biting as my hands went to her shorts.
She laid me down, kissing from my neck to my breasts, and down to my stomach. "What do you want?" She whispered, looking up at me as she positioned herself in between my legs. "Fuck me like you hate me. Do it." I demanded and she nodded, taking off my shorts in one quick motion before she kissed my fabric-covered centre.
"Katie. Stop fucking teasing me." I spat and she looked up at me. "You will be patient." She demanded and I pushed my hips up for her to connect to me again, but she pushed me back down. "Stay still." She spoke again and I closed my eyes. "And look at me while I'm fucking you."
Ohhh that turned me on.
I opened my eyes and looked at her as she gripped my underwear, pulling them off me just like she did with my shorts. She immediately licked up my core, making me moan. "Shut up."
