you smiled as you carefully folded the paper.
hyunjin's birthday was just a few days away, and you had decided to make his gift by hand.
you would celebrate it at his parents' house, along with all his relatives. you'd be lying if you said you weren't nervous.
his family was imperiously. very imperiously. they had a big house. very big. it could even be called a mansion. his parents were very nice people, though. you really liked them, but you still had this worry that they didn't like you enough.
you shook your head to clear those thoughts and focused on making his gift.

when you and hyunjin walked into his parents' house, they greeted you with hugs. the house was full, his grandparents were here, his uncles, his aunts, most of his cousins. there were at least 20 of you. really, there were many people. during dinner, everyone was talking, smiling and laughing.
it was nice. you loved hyunjin's family.
while you were having dinner, hyunjin was constantly hugging you, holding your hand, or kissing your cheek, making sure you got enough attention from him.

soon everyone was done with dinner and it was time for the presents.
you watched with a smile on your face as hyunjin opened his presents. he looked really happy.
but your smile slowly began to fade as you actually paid attention to what he was being gifted
watch. expensive watch. headphones. again, from the expensive model. games for his console.
your smile was already completely gone when he opened a small box that contained a car key. his parents had given him a car. a whole car. and hyunjin was over the moon with happiness.
after everyone gave him their gifts, it was your turn.
"what did you get him?" his mother asked you with a small smile. you started picking your fingers nervously.
hyunjin noticed this and hugged you.
"if you don't have a present for me, there's no problem. you are enough for me" he kissed your forehead.
“I… I have a present but… it's going to look pathetic next to all your other presents..” you said, looking at the floor.
hyunjin pulled away from the hug and grabbed your shoulders, looking at you with a small smile on his face.
"I'm sure your present will be the most wonderful here" you sighed and handed him the bag that was left next to you.
hyunjin took it with a smile and took out its contents, and when he did, his smile disappeared.
when you saw that he wasn't smiling anymore, you tried to hold back your tears.
"I'm sorry-" you didn't get to finish your sentence because hyunjin started jumping in place, looking at your gift with the widest smile you've ever seen.
what you had given him was a bouquet of flowers, paper flowers that you had made yourself. you had put some of his favourite candies in between the flowers, and there were also pictures of you together, stuck on sticks in between the flowers.
basically, you weren't good at 'DIY' stuff at all, and hyunjin knew it. but still, you had made his gift yourself .
"you did that?! all alone?" he looked up at you, still with the same wide grin.
"yeah.."
he hugged you tightly and spun you around in the air.
"it's wonderful!" hyunjin kissed your forehead, then your nose, cheeks, and finally, your lips. you couldn't hold back your smile anymore and gave him a big smile.
"do you really like it?"
he gasped dramatically at your question.
"what kind of question is that? i love it!" he gave you a quick kiss on the lips and turned to his relatives.
"look what my girlfriend did for me! all by herself! isn't it wonderful?" he went to every single person in the room and showed them your creation up close, and you sat looking at him with a big smile on your face.
