Y/N got home after a long day at the office and hung his coat on the rack. He yawned. "Honey! I'm home!"
Helen smiled and strode into the hallway. "Hello Y/N. How was your day?"
Y/N shrugged. "Same old same old."
"Well, I have something that may brighten you up!" Helen said with a smirk as she wrapped her arms around Y/N's shoulders.
Y/N raised an eyebrow. "And what might that be?"
Helen walked her fingers along Y/N's neck. "Well, I figured the kids were finally old enough to stay home alone with Jack-Jack, so I made dinner reservations for just us two at Le Four doré."
Y/N gasped. "Le Four doré! But that place takes weeks to get into!"
Helen shrugged. "I know, I know, but I'm friends with the owner's mom, so I finally called in a favour from her. She totally understood because, you know, us parents gotta stick together."
Y/N laughed and pulled Helen in for a hug. "You are hilarious, and I love it. Thank you so much for getting us this reservation, I'll go start getting ready."
Helen kissed him on the cheek before pulling away from him so he could go upstairs and get changed.
Once he was ready in his three-piece suit and red tie, he went downstairs, but Helen wasn't where he'd left her. "Babe, where are you?"
"I'm right here!" Helen stepped into the hallway, wearing the new red dress she had bought just for this occasion.
Y/N's jaw dropped as he stared at her. The way her dress accentuated her curves beautifully and made her eyes pop. "Damn babe, you look so good in red."
"I know," she purred, approaching Y/N with a sly smile on her face.
"Ew, gross you two, get a room!" Dash called from the kitchen where he was shoving ice cream in his face.
Violet groaned. "Daaaaash, I told you to get the ice cream out WHEN THEY LEFT, not now!"
"Well, don't worry, we're leaving now!" Y/N assured them, going over to the door and opening it for Helen. When she walked out, she glanced back nervously at the house. Y/N joined her outside and placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. "They'll be fine."
"I hope so," Helen whispered as she went over to the car. Once both of them were situated, Y/N drove them out into the city. It wasn't a long drive to the restaurant, and when they got there, Y/N parked got out of the car, and opened the door for Helen.
Her eyes widened at the place. "We drive by this so often, but... now we're here. This is incredible."
"You're incredible," Y/N complimented, making Helen blush.
He placed his arm around her waist and led her inside. Once they were seated and had their drinks, Helen sighed. "This is so nice."
"I know, I can't imagine a better way to spend the night," Y/N agreed.
Helen got a mischievous look on her face. "I can. But that comes later. For now, let's talk. I feel like we haven't done that in a while."
Y/N nodded. "Do you remember when being a hero was fun? Back when we first met and started dating?"
Helen smiled at the memory. "Yeah. Yeah, I do. We both rushed to the scene for a bank robbery. We stopped it together. You were incredible. As soon as I saw you webbing up those crooks, I knew I was in love."
Y/N grinned and glanced down at his wrists, where he could shoot webs made of a natural fluid his body secreted after a radioactive spider had bitten him. "And then there was you, blocking the exit and ensuring that anyone who tried to escape got a punch they'll never forget."
They both laughed and Helen's gaze drifted off to seemingly nowhere as she immersed herself in the memory. "But do you know what was really nice about that day? The cops congratulated us and appreciated us for helping them catch the bad guys. They loved us. What happened?"
Y/N shrugged. "People thought we were dangerous. They thought we caused more problems than we prevented. But I think the only problem you had, Helen, is that you were too hot to handle."
Helen nearly spit out her water as she busted out laughing. "Shut up, Y/N, you know it was more serious than that."
Y/N admired Helen's smile for a moment. "Yeah, yeah, I know, I know. It's a shame we were outlawed, huh? It's not fair."
"Oh! I was actually reading something in the paper this morning that I completely forgot to tell you! It slipped my mind!" Helen told Y/N excitedly. "I saw an article about how this guy, Winston Deavor, wants to help supers like us. It said something about a treaty or contract or something he's drawing up. But there wasn't much on it."
"But that means there's still hope for us, Helen!" Y/N said excitedly. "No more having to hide! We can show the kids that the world doesn't hate them! It would be amazing."
Helen sighed. "I love your enthusiasm honey, but don't get too excited. I don't want you to be disappointed if the movement doesn't follow through."
Y/N shook his head. "But think about it though, just imagine! My parents... my uncle... they'd all have a reason to be proud of me again." He blinked away a few tears at the thought of his dead guardians.
Helen reached across the table and grabbed his hands. "They'd be proud of you regardless," she assured him. "I know I am."
Y/N smiled softly. "If heroes are legalized again, what would we do?"
This proceeded to be what most of their conversation was about at dinner, aside from a few side conversations about Dash, Violet, and Jack-Jack. Y/N wasn't their real father, but Mr. Incredible had unfortunately died in a train accident. When Helen finally moved on and got together with Y/N, he swore to be the best father he could possibly be and treated the kids as if they were his own. And Helen couldn't have been happier with him.
Y/N and Helen had just finished up dessert when suddenly, Y/N's super sense that alerted him of nearby danger blared in his mind. He furrowed his brows and reached his hands up to rub his temples.
"Y/N? What's wrong?" Helen asked.
"Danger, Helen. Across the street," he murmured.
"Across the street?" Helen glanced out the window. "But that's the bank..." A sly smirk crept onto her face.
Y/N looked up and noticed, knowing exactly what it meant. "Did you even bring your suit with you?"
Helen held up her purse. "Always. You?"
Y/N unbuttoned the top button of his shirt. "Never leave home without it."
"Check please!" they exclaimed in synchrony.
As soon as dinner was paid for, the pair rushed out of the restaurant and changed in the car. Then they rushed over to the bank. "How do you want to do this?" Y/N asked.
"I've had a few drinks, so..." Helen laughed and kicked the door open, triggering the alarms and startling the robbers who were stuffing their bags full of money. She rushed into action, stretching out her arms to send a flying punch at the two nearest criminals.
Y/N felt butterflies in his stomach as he watched his wife fight. She was so badass. He shot webbing at a thief who tried to sneak by him, sticking the guy to a wall. Then, Y/N shot some webbing at a trash can and flung it at a guy who was sneaking up behind Helen.
"Babe!" she called. "Bats in a cage!" she gestured to where the remaining robbers had clustered together.
Y/N chuckled. "Aw yeah!" He held out his hands and Helen ran at him. She jumped on his hands and he vaulted her into the air, where she parachuted out and engulfed the cluster of criminals. She then separated her arms to create an opening where Y/N shot his webbing, wrapping up the remaining guys.
Helen shrunk back to normal and stretched her arms over her head. "Whoo! That was exhilarating!"

Police sirens could be heard outside, so Y/N wrapped his arm around Helen's waist and slung them to the roof of the building next door. There, they changed back into their normal clothes and climbed down to their car.
