"Hey Kay! Come on! We're gonna be late!"
Lee shouts at her from atop a hill
"Huh? What the-?"
Kay stood confused
"Come ooooon!"
Lee said, running up the hill
She let out a sigh and ran after him up the hill, she lets out tired breathes as she makes it up
"It-It's fricking steep!"
Kay lets out
"It's almost time, come on!"
Lee pats a spot on the grass next to him
"This better be worth it"
She grumpily sits down
As she sits there, the feint sound of something gliding through the air is heard then...
A loud boom echoes through out the scene, as fireworks erupt out of nowhere
"Woah..."
Kay sits mouth open
Lee pulls Kay's face towards his, Kay realizes that instead of the small kid version of Lee, the Lee her age sits there instead
"This is for you~"
He leans in close
Just before their lips touch a final firework goes off, waking Kay from her slumber
"Oh... You have got to be kidding me!"
Kay shouts
She thrashes around in her bed, furious.
"So close, a millimeter closer and then..."
Her faces scrunches up to a look of disappointment
She smacks herself and gets up
"Why am I dreaming that,why am I dreaming that, why am I dreaming that!"
She rambles on
She starts to cook herself some breakfast
"I bet it's not as tasty as his..."
She doubts
She sighs and sits down as she eats, her mind lingers on that day...
Flashback
"Mind if I move in with you?"
Lee asked
"Mo-Move in?! With me?!"
She asked shocked
"Yeah, the female dorm is closer and we could split living expenses, I'll even cook for you if you want?"
He offered
She pauses mid conversation
"Kay?"
Lee asked
"Yup, I'm in love with him"
She thought to herself
"KAY! Hello!"
He shouted
She screamed in shock
"I said, can I move in with you?!
Lee asked again
She just stood there again with pursed lips
"Think Kay think, if he moves with you it would be an absolute win, buuut the main problem is me! What if he doesn't feel the same way?! What if I tell him and everything gets awkward?! What if he never talks to me again?!!!"
The thoughts ran through her head
Lee just stood there as well waiting for her answer
"Oh wait! The MSSS Program states that, male and female students cannot share a dorm together without school special permissions hehe!"
She nervously explains
Lee let out a long sigh and looked sad
"That sucks... I really wanted to spend more time with you is all"
He says dishearted
Flashback End
"AAAAAAAAAH! WHY DID I TURN HIM DOWN!"
She screamed internally
She slammed her head on the table
"I could have gotten permission since I was the tankery team captain"
Her voice is muffled by the table
She remains there face down
"I'm so stupid..."
She continues to beat herself up
She stares out the window, the rain pours down heavily
"I guess, I should get to practice..."
She says picking up her jacket
Timeskip
Kay arrives at the field, rain reducing the fine, firm ground into drenching mud
"What a slog..."
She walks through more of said mud
She picks up a radio and patches through to Naomi
"Ring ring, who dis?"
Naomi playfully calls out
"Hey Nao"
Kay says
"Yo, you're late today? What happened?"
Naomi asked
"Slept in plus weather"
She wipes her boots
"I know right? Whatcha want?"
Naomi asks
"Could you tell the others I cancelled practice and to get home safely, it's pouring and it's going to get worse tomorrow"
Kay tells her, she sounds unenergized
"Sure thing then. Home about tomorrow's match? That still on?"
Naomi asked again
"Yeah. It's hometurf plus the weather, we got a good chance to win"
Kay's confidence shines through in her voice
"You get home safe you here"
Naomi says to Kay with audible concern
"You too"
Kay replies
She hangs up the radio and plops down on a chair and takes a nap in the small com. room
Timeskip, a few minutes later
Kay awakes to the sound of engines and treds rolling into the hangar
"I thought everyone went home by now"
She rubs her eyes as she walks out
"Ugh, I really wanted to get to practice today..."
Lee complained
Kay stops in her tracks and hides behind the railing leading to the com. room
"It's fine big fella!"
Amy pats him on the back, she couldn't reach his shoulder
"What Amz said!"
Emily chimes in
"Thanks gals, see you when the match starts?"
Lee asked
"Of course!"
Amy shouts
"Yeah, where else would we go?"
Emily responded
"That would reflect on our record. So yes."
Simone let out a minute smile
"Can't let you guys have ALL the glory now can I!"
Alisa laughs
Kay stays behind as they all go their separate ways as Alisa stays behind
"You just gonna stay there, creepy?"
Alisa shouts at her
"You saw me?"
Kay asks coming out of hiding
"Your hair color isn't exactly subtle now"
She says sarcastically
Kay walks down to her
"Heck you doing up there anyway?"
Alisa questions
"I... Fell asleep"
She rubs her arm
"Moron. Let's go, I heard some new café opened up on Hickory street. Wanna go with me?"
Alisa asked
"Sure. Why the heck not"
Kay accepted
As the two went out, Kay felt her heart heavy by the thought of Lee.
Still being mad cause she turned him down. She let out a sigh as they walk out of the hangar
