DEVANSHI'S POV:
It feels great to be back home!
The Trip to Rome was ethereal, splendid, most memorable. That's for another day now.
I can't wait to meet everyone. How everyone is doing? I am a bit nervous too, my parents are gonna be present.
Why is it that I can never be eased around them?
The ride came to an halt at the familiar destination, Home. For people it was Palace but for us, it was home.
As I peeked through the window I could see Maasa, Daadisa, Mom, Choti, Daatasa, Babasa, Papa, Bannasa standing there waiting for us.
As I stepped down and moved forward the carpet was covered with flowers, reminding me of my Marriage. The maid passed the Aarti ki thaal to Maasa but Daadisa took it saying, "Aap hi har baar inka swagat karengi kya?"
["Can't I welcome her too?"]
She smiled while welcoming both of us as she finished the Aarti, we touched the feet of her and Daatasa. They blessed us and we did the same with my parents and his. My father as usual was cold, but there was something different in his eyes today may be a regret that he should have given me a chance.
What am I even thinking! It's impossible!
Choti hugged me, while Devarsa touched my feet which I didn't like but he would not listen.
We sat in the dining room, having our lunch. The conversation went on from my Residency to my experience and then my honeymoon. Everyone was quite happy finally together after so long.
Grabbing our attention, Babasa spoke "So now that everyone is present here, why don't we discuss Gaurav and Akshu's wedding?"
This was a surprise. Except for my parents, everyone looked surprised.
I guess they are here for the same reason and not for me. How come I thought they would be here for me?
Stupid!
I smiled seeing the evident blush on Akshu's cheeks due to Banna sa's eye contact.
I couldn't be less happy.
They started discussing as I listen to them but then there was a problem in the venue. If it happens thoroughly according to the traditions, how will I attend both the sides?
Just as I was thinking about the same, Maasa spoke, "Destination yaa Traditional hamari badi bindani decide karegi. Akhir dono ore ka sambhalna bhi to inhe hi hai."
["Let the venue be decided by my elder daughter in law. She'll be the one juggling both sides."]
It was an easy decision, I know what Choti has wanted always and what is best for us too.
D: "Destination! But one thing stays, you're not seeing each other after Ganesh sthapana until marriage. There'll be a curtain."
Gaurav: "Bhabhisa!"
Devarsa whined cutely and truly it was worth seeing.
D: "Jii Banna sa."
Gaurav: "Nothing"
Daadisa: "I guess the suggestion is great. So let's finalize the date and Vedansh's team could see the rest."
V: "Jii Daadisa."
Everyone agreed and the planning started. It was decided that after going to Jaipur, Dad will see the auspicious date and will update everything.
After everything would be settled we could leave for the venue 'Jaisalmer'.
While the elders were discussing a few things I saw Choti and Devarsa sneaking out.
Kunwarsa whispers near my ears, "Can you see him? Sneaking out while everyone is present."
D: "Let him. They must have something to share after all they're getting married soon."
V: "What about us? Wanna sneak out?"
D: "No. Everyone is present. It doesn't look nice."
V: "See even after being married, I'm not allowed to be with my wife."
I couldn't help my giggles, "You are with your wife or are you with some ghost? Did you forget? We spent almost a month in Rome together and by that I do mean the week you made me stay in our room only."
V: "That I want to do again. Having you all for myself is amazing."
D: "Yes you literally had me."
V: "I am still hungry though."
D: "What could be done? I feel your hunger never goes away."
V: "Not for you."
Gaurav: "Agar aapki romantic baatein khatm ho gayi hai to me meri Bhabhisa ko le jau?"
I felt embarrassed thinking he might've heard us speaking.
V: "Tu kabab me haddi! Hone de teri shaadi, tujhe batata hu."
He rolled his at him, "Chaliye Bhabhisa. Chinta mat kijiye maine kuch nahin suna yaa kam se kam aap aisa maan k chaliye."
I pulled his ears saying, "Abhi tak sudhre nahin aap. Vaise jodi bilkul sahi hai dono ki."
As I spoke the words something appeared in my mind, if one is kiddish there needs to be someone who can handle that childish behavior. What about them when both are like this?
What was I thinking?
Shaking off the thought I proceeded towards the theater room as Devarsa asked.
I could feel Both the brothers behind me walking like hulks.
It felt annoying, "Aap dono yaa to mere sath chaliye yaa aage chale jao ek jan. Ye aise do pehelwan leke ghar me ghum rahi hu jaise mujhe koi bada khatra mere hi ghar me hai. Mujhe angrakshak ki jarurat nahin hai, hogi tab bata dungi."
V: "Tu jaa pehle."
Gaurav: "Aap jaiye, me to Bhabhisa k sath aaunga."
Saying so he appeared to my left side and held my arm, entwining it with his own.
Kunwarsa came to my right copying his actions.
I left a frustrated sigh freeing myself from both.
D: "You can keep bickering. I'll go."
Gaurav: "I'll go with you Bhabhisa."
He came running beside and kunwarsa took two long strides moving ahead of us smirking, "Haa tu apni Bhabhisa k paas reh. Me jaa raha apni saali sahiba se milne."
I didn't hold back my laugh seeing Banna sa's face.
Gaurav: "Bhabhisaa"
D: "What?"
Gaurav: "Chaliye"
D: "Vaise aap dono hai bohot cute."
Gaurav: "Kahi bahar mat keh dijiyega hamari image kharab ho jaegi."
D: "Jiii"
Entering the theater we already found Kunwarsa and Choti chatting.
Ghanakshi: "Dii, come I have a lot to talk with you."
D: "Not while the movie Akshu."
Ghanakshi: "Who watches movies with so much attention."
D: "I do."
V: "I do."
We both spoke at the same time making the other two roll their eyes.
Concerning our willingness to catch up on each other's lives, not that we missed on it but still we chose to drop the movie and just chat for a while.
Akshu: "Thanks Dii now cz of you, I can have my dream wedding."
D: "I couldn't forget someone eating my ears off with same thing."
I spoke reminding her of narrating me her Perfect Dream wedding essay several times.
V: "I'm happy for you two."
D: "Me too. But one thing I am going to be your Jethani so behave."
Ghanakshi: "I guess then you'll have to suffer cz I won't."
We all laughed at her comment.
Gaurav: "Let's sleep. I'm sleepy now."
Ghanakshi: "Okay. Let's go to our respective rooms."
She stood first almost leaving when Gaurav held her wrist, "Where are you leaving?"
Ghanakshi: "You said you were sleepy."
Kunwarsa and I shared a knowing glance.
D: "You sit Akshu. We'll leave. We need some privacy too."
Ghanakshi: "Ohh. Achcha. Okay."
We departed to our room leaving the love birds behind.
D: "Ansh. You know, how happy I am today."
V: "I would like to know."
D: "I feel so good. Akshu is doing great in her career and will be married. And I'll be joining our hospital from tomorrow. Even my company is doing great. Thanks to you and Mani."
He cupped my cheeks saying, "Thank yourself too for having the hopes that your dreams can come true. You made it."
D: "We did it!"
I was on the verge of tears, but I didn't wanna cry and hence shook my head smiling, "I love you so much."
V: "I love you more. Your random I love you's are more heartwarming than what people say about saying I love you several times a day."
D: "That is because I grew up in a conservative middle class family."
He stared at me with confusion, as I sat on the bed and he sat in front of me, "Explain"
D: "See when there's something great or special We celebrate by making sweets and special food dishes. We know to preserve special things for special occasions so that to save it's worth. If you have it regularly there would be no importance of it."
V: "My thoughtful wife! "
D: "Hmm. It feels so good to be back in your own room."
I laid back half sitting, feeling the mattress.
V: "It's good to be back in your wife's arms."
He spoke lying on me.
I smiled ear to ear seeing his cuteness.
D: "Let's change. The flight was tiring."
V: "Yes."
The next morning came with energetic vibes making me feel enthusiastic and happy.
I was feeling so nice to finally start as a doctor myself.
V: "All the best."
Having him with me on my first day it was rather greater.
The first day was exciting meeting my colleagues, understanding the environment, superiors, patients. Everything was interesting.
Let's hope everything goes well with the wedding planning too.
