Mackenzie
Morning of Monday…

I finished brushing my teeth and headed downstairs.

"Bye Mum!" I said, and waved.

"Bye!" She waved back.

I walked to the bus stop when Bluey caught up with me.

"Hey Mackenzie," she said.

"Hi," I said, and looked at the ground, "I thought you walked with Max now?"

She shook her head. "Uh no."

"Why not?"

"I don't know. He's-"

Bluey almost ran into the bus stop sign and I grabbed her arm before she did.

"Careful!" I yanked her back, "you're going to slam into it one day."

She stopped walking then walked around the sign.

"Thanks Kenzie," Bluey said.

"Uh-huh." I said.

Wait.

Did she just call me Kenzie? She hasn't called me that in a while.

Bluey covered her mouth. "Oops. I didn't mean to call you that."

"That's fine." I shrugged.

Lucky and Judo walked up.

"Hi." Judo said, and waved.

"Hi Judo." Bluey said and waved back.

The bus pulled up and Jean-Luc ran over.

We got on the bus and I sat down with Lucky.

"How come you're not sitting with Judo?" I asked him.

He shrugs. "I dunno. Why are you not sitting with Bluey?"

"Because I don't anymore. She usually sits with Chloe or Max. Or even Jean-Luc." I said, and rolled my eyes slightly.

Lucky looks at my arm where I cut the other night.

"Why?" Was all he said, and pointed at the scar.

I shrugged. "I don't know."

We arrived at school and got off. I scratched my arm and it started to burn. I looked down as a rash started to spread around it. It wrapped around my entire arm up to my shoulder.

My eyes became wide and pulled my paw away quickly.

I walked into the school and the bell rang, meaning that we had five minutes to get to class.

Aw jeez. Oh course our bus was late!

I ran into the boys restroom and stood in front of the sink.

I splashed water on my arm but that made it worse.

I sighed, and pulled down the sleeve of my dark red sweatshirt.

The bell rang again, and I shook my head.

"Shoot." I bit my lip hard as my arm started to hurt and burn again.

I looked down and found myself scratching it.

I grabbed my arm with my other one and pulled it away.

I sat down next to the wall and sighed.

I stayed in the bathroom until the bell rang again.

When it did, I got up and walked out.

I went over to my locker when someone tapped me on the shoulder.

"Kenzie?" Bluey said.

"Yeah?" I said, and grabbed my books. I shut my locker and had my books in a stack, setting them on the ground to put them in my bookbag.

"Why weren't you in homeroom?"

"Uh- I don't know?" I shrugged. I finished packing the books and swung my bookbag over my back.

Bluey raised her eyebrow. "What do you mean by that? Were you meaning to skip?"

"No." I shook my head.

"What's that on your arm?"

"Nothing!" I pulled down my sleeve harder.

"Uh okay." Bluey waved as she walked away, and I waved back as I walked to my next class.

Bluey
In Math…

I sat down at my desk next to Chloe and set down my math book.

"Hey Chloe." I said.

"Hi." She said.

I pulled my phone to text... Someone...

"Who are you texting?"Chloe asked.

Chloe looked over at my screen but I pulled away.

"Don't look at my phone." I glared at her.

"Sorry. But who are you texting?" Chloe said, and doodled on her paper with her pen while still staring at me.

"None of your business." I rolled my eyes. 'Chloe is so nosy!' I thought.

The bell rang, and the teacher walked in.

Time skips to lunch (because I'm lazy to write what happens.)

I sat down next to Chloe and opened my lunchbox.

Indy and Judo sat on the other side of her.

"Hi." I said.

Chloe waved as she took a bite out of her sandwich.

Lucky came up and sat down next to Judo.

We ate in silence, I don't know why. But for some reason it felt awkward.

Winnie and Rusty came a few minutes later, breaking the silence.

"Hi!" Winnie said.

I waved and stood up. I grabbed my lunch bag and threw it away in the bin. I waved as I walked outside.

I stood against a tree and overlooked the field.

I sighed and breathed in the fall air.

It was March, so the middle of fall.

Mackenzie walked up to me and stood next to me.

"Hi," he said, and scratched his right arm, the one that had a weird red thing wrapped around it.

I think it's a rash, but I'm not too sure.

"What's on your arm?" I asked, and pointed at it.

"I told you, nothing." Mackenzie pulled down his sleeve to hang over his paw.

"Okay?" I shrugged, as Chloe and Winnie walked up to us.

"Um hi," Chloe said, and grinned at me.

"Girl," I said, and gave her a look.

"Sorry! I guess," She apologized.

Mackenzie looked at us, confused.

"What?" He said, and scratched his arm again.

Mackenzie's eyes became wide when he realized he was scratching his arm, and pulled his paw away quickly.

"Boys don't know anything, do they?" Winnie and Chloe both said.

"Gee, thanks,"Mackenzie said sarcastically, and rolled his eyes.

"Yeah, we don't know anything," Rusty said behind Chloe and Winnie as he walked up with Lucky and Indy.

"Jeez! Why are you taking this so hard?" Chloe said.

"Because you said something kind of offensive," I said.

"Okay! Sorry!" Chloe apologized again.

Mackenzie kept on scratching his right arm as he bit his lip.

I pulled Mackenzie's paw away from his arm.

"Stop scratching your arm, it'll make it worse." I said.

He stared at me, and I stared at him.

I continued to hold Mackenzie's paw, but snapped out of it.

Mackenzie pulled his paw away from mine, and broke eye contact.

The bell rang, and I sighed in relief.

Mackenzie and I walked to History in silence thinking about what just happened.

After History…

Max waved bye to me as he walked away to put his books in his locker.

I smiled at him but didn't wave bye, then rolled my eyes.

I walked over to my locker and opened it to put some of my books away.

I put my Math, English and History books away.

I shut my locker and walked to P.E. as thoughts swirled in my mind.

I arrived in the gym and sat down on the bleachers. I tapped my foot on the ground waiting for someone to show up.

Chloe was the first to arrive. She walked up to me and sat down.

"What happened with you and Mackenzie during lunch?" Was the first thing she said.

"Hi to you too, and I don't know." I said, and shrugged.

"Hmmm," I saw Chloe grinned slightly in the corner of my eye.

"I saw that," I said.

"So?"

I turned to face her. "Really mate. Stop thinking what you're thinking. Stop shipping me and Mackenzie, I don't like him like that." I said, annoyed.

But I'm not sure what I said is true.

"Okay, sorry. I guess I'll stop." Chloe said when Winnie and Indy walked up.

They waved. Chloe and I waved back.

Max and Rusty walked up a minute later.

"Hi guys," Max said, and sat down on the other side of me.

"What happened to you and Mackenzie?" He asked.

Uh Max was there? Wow. I didn't see him come out.

"Uh, I-" the bell rings, interrupting me.

We stood and walked over to the P.E. teacher.

After school…

I grabbed Makenzie's arm when the bell rang.

"Bluey!" He said.

"What?" I giggled, "come on!"

Mackenzie smiled at me and shook his head. "Can't you wait? I need to get my homework!"

"Fine!" I folded my arms but smiled.

Mackenzie went back over to his desk and grabbed his homework.

He walked over to me and I grabbed his arm again and we ran out of the school.

We made it to the bus and got on.

Mackenzie sat with Lucky and I sat with Chloe.

"Hey Chloe," I said, and sat down.

"Hi Bluey!" She said in a happy tone.

"What?" I asked, and looked through my bookbag for my homework.

"Nothing…" she smiled.

"Okay sure…" I rolled my eyes. Chloe is too much sometimes.

We chatted for a while until we hit a red light, and the bus stop.

Lucky and Mackenzie were behind us, and Lucky stood up.

"Hey Bluey?" He said, and hung his arms over our seat.

"Yeah?" I said, and turned around.

Lucky leaned to me and whispered in my ear,

"Mac-" but before he could finish his sentence, the bus continued going and Lucky fell back into the seat.

I burst out laughing, and Chloe joined me.

After a few minutes, the bus arrived at our stop and I waved by to Chloe as I got up and went off the bus.

I waited for Lucky to get off to ask him what he was going to say.

Lucky got off with Mackenzie and I grabbed his arm.

"Lucky?" I said and let go of his arm.

"Yeah?" He asked.

"What were you going to say to me?"

Lucky looked over at Mackenzie who was staring at us.

"Nothing. Nevermind." Lucky continued walking and Mackenzie stayed behind with me.

"Uh what was that?" He asked, as we walked back home.

I shrugged. "I don't know. He was going to tell me something, he said your name I think," I shrugged again.

"Okay?" Mackenzie started to walk to his house. "Bye Bluey!" He waved bye and walk away.

"Bye Kenzie!" I said, and waved back.

I had this weird feeling going through my entire body. I didn't know what it was, but it felt different, something I've never felt before.

But I shrugged it off, and continued walking to my house.

I got home, put my bookbag in the mudroom, and went up to my room and laid down on my bed.

Bingo came into my room an hour later and told me it's dinner. We headed downstairs and the smell of spaghetti and meatballs entered my nose.

Mum put a plate down in front of my seat, and I sat down.

"Thanks Mum!" I said, and she sat down, placing a plate in front of hers and Dad's.

Bingo already has hers.

We ate while talking about our favorite thing.

It was Bingo's turn, and she tapped her chin, thinking.

"Oh! I know!" She exclaimed, throwing her arms in the air, "Lila gave me a new friendship bracelet!"

"Can I see?" Mum asked, and Bingo took it off her wrist to show Mum.

Mum smiled and put it back on Bingo's wrist. "Good one Bingo," she sighed happily.

"What about you Bluey?" Dad asked me, placing his cup of water down.

"Um I don't know, nothing really, interesting…" I thought back to my day. Nothing really cool happened today. I mean, I feel like I mostly was with Mackenzie most of the day.

I shrugged. "Yeah, nothing really," I said, picking at my food with my fork, "Max slipped during lunch when he was getting his lunch which Mackenzie found really funny, what about you Dad?" I looked up from my food and looked at him.

"Probably what Bingo did to me when she got home," Dad said, and put his plate in the sink.

Bingo looks over at him with a confused facial expression.

"Don't you remember?" Dad asked, and sat back down.

Bingo's face lit up once she realized what he was talking about.

She burst out laughing, clutching her stomach and fell of her chair.

"Oof!" She cried, but continued laughing.

Dad joined her in laughing but rolled his eyes from her falling off her chair.

Mum and I looked at them in utter confusion.
