"I won't lose next time! That's a promise!"
A girl wearing expensive branded clothes from head to toe exclaimed as she put the burst pieces of her bey back together and looked at her opponent on the other side of the stadium.
"I'll be looking forward to that then."
Her opponent responded rather calmly, much to her annoyance as she huffed and stomped away from there, determined to win the next time.
After she left, her opponent put his beyblade back in his pocket and thought,
'(Y/N) (L/N). She's got potential. I just need to find a way to help her unleash it.'

Meanwhile:
"Hmph! What does he think of himself?! He only got me because (Beyblade name) was a millisecond late in dodging Spryzen's move!"
(Y/N) grumbled under her breath as she walked in the hallway. As soon as the other bladers noticed her, they began whispering amongst themselves while wondering why the second strongest blader of their team was so mad.
Yes, the (h/c) haired girl was stronger than Shu's student Fubuki Sumiye. But she still had a long way to go to defeat her team's owner. She was able to win by a ring-out finish but never by a burst finish when it came to battling Shu.
And that was something which made her consider Shu as her enemy. An enemy from whom she could win a battle but never the war.
"Hey (Y/N), would you like to go on lunch with me?"
One of the boys asked as he approached the girl and stopped her in her tracks while blushing in nervousness. And...
"WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?! ARE YOU HERE TO PRACTICE BLADING AND IMPROVE YOURSELF OR FOR ASKING GIRLS OUT?!"
The (h/c) haired girl yelled loudly, making everyone around her flinch backwards as the one who'd tried to hit on her, freaked out and ran away.
"Tch. What a cheapskate..."
She muttered before walking out of there, leaving the rest of the bladers there to wonder what had caused (Y/N) (L/N) to be so mad.
'I better go and practice some more...'
She thought as she made her way to one of the training arenas. The aura radiating from her was enough to let the others know that she wanted to practice alone.

Two hours later:
"Has anyone seen (Y/N)?"
Shu asked as he now stood in the centre of a group of young bladers in the main training hall of the Bulls. A girl who'd witnessed the (h/c) haired girl's frustration from earlier came forward and said,
"She went to one of the training rooms on the fourth floor to train alone. And...she seemed pretty angry for some reason."
"Is that so? Thank you for the information."
The albino responded as he headed to the location.
As he reached the spot and opened the door of the room, he found the (h/c) haired girl training with her Beyblade and having the mechanical launchers be her opponents.
"Now! Use (Beyblade move)!"
She yelled as her bey complied and burst all the other beyblades in one go, making a sharp screeching sound on the walls of the stadium.
'She has the power but she needs to learn how to control it.'
The crimson-eyed albino thought as he made his way towards her. And as he'd expected, she was covered in sweat and panting heavily.
"Take a break. You and (B/N), both need it."
He said, stopping when he was almost at an arm's length distance from her. The girl nearly jumped when she heard his voice as she turned her head and said,
"When did you get in here?! And don't try to tell me what to do! I know exactly what I'm doing!"
"I got in here just now. And just for your information, I'm the owner of this team. Every blader here has to listen to me when it comes to training. You're no exception."
Shu responded to all of her questions as the (e/c) eyed girl made a 'tch' sound as she picked up (B/N) from the stadium while he crossed his arms,
"Take a break. Don't make me repeat myself."
"Yeah, yeah. You don't have to tell me twice."
She scoffed as she went to the bench and sat down, wiping her sweat with a towel. The albino went to her and passed her a water bottle as he said,
"I've also decided to make some changes to your training methods."
"What?!"
(Y/N) nearly choked on the water she was drinking as she looked at him with wide eyes.
"From today onwards, you'll be my training partner."
"You're saying that I'm not allowed to train alone anymore and that whenever I train, I'll have you as my opponent?!"
"Indeed."
"What about Fubuki then?"
"He's getting ready to leave for the Battleship Cruise."
Shu responded as the girl rolled her (e/c) eyes and groaned in annoyance. Great. Now she has to practice with her enemy. Everyday.

Timeskip:
A few weeks passed by and (Y/N) found herself improving a lot. Not only that, she also began to witness Shu's personality up close.
She began to see Shu's passion for Beyblade and his love for the game, his unwavering dedication to training all his students, his humility and calmness in the face of victory and...his gentle nature.
Slowly, her cold and rude attitude towards the crimson-eyed albino began to change and she started to open up to him more.
(Y/N)'s attitude of always wanting the best and throwing a tantrum if her wishes weren't fulfilled also changed as she learnt from him to not look down on others.
Before the both of them knew it, they became unexpectedly good friends.
It wasn't until one day when the girl was having a beybattle with him and she was so close to bursting Spryzen, that she got distracted by the albino's hair waving away just enough to reveal his scar.
The way he was smiling and enjoying the match, made her so distracted that she didn't realise when the tables turned and it was (B/N) that got a burst-finish instead.
That was when she finally realised that she...had a crush on him.
But she didn't have the courage to go and confess to him. Partly because she didn't want to ruin their newfound friendship and partly because she couldn't bring herself to accept the idea of falling in love with her rival.
So, (Y/N) ended up indulging herself in training tirelessly so that she could distract herself and maybe eventually get rid of these feelings.

One evening:
As the (h/c) haired girl sat down to take a break from her practice and drink some water, the sudden voice of her mentor made her jump and almost choke on the water.
"(Y/N)."
"S-Shu. Hi!"
The girl smiled nervously as the albino stood right in front of her with a stern expression. It wasn't very uncommon for him to suddenly appear near her without her even noticing.
"I want to talk with you."
"A-about what?"
"You've been avoiding me lately. As soon as our daily practice session is over, you leave right away before I can even say anything. You always arrive 1 or 2 minutes later than the designated time. Have I done something to upset you?"
He asked without beating around the bush. The girl looked down and fiddled with her fingers as the blader waited patiently for her to say something.
'Instead of keeping these feelings bottled up, I should confess to him before it's too late. It's now or never.'
She thought and took a deep breath as she looked at the floor and began,
"No, you haven't done anything like that Shu, it's just that..."
"Hmm?"
"...I've realized that I misjudged you all along by considering you as my enemy. After training with you for the past few weeks, I began to admire you and understand why you are called a legendary blader. It wasn't until our last battle a few days ago that I realised, I've caught feelings for you. I-I know this may sound weird b-but I think...I'm in love with you, Shu Kurenai."
(Y/N) poured her heart out in one go as she looked up at the albino's face, surprised to find a warm smile on his face.
"I love you too, (Y/N)."
"H-huh?"
"I've always been drawn to you. Even when you considered me as your enemy. It's not just because I saw potential in you but because of something that I couldn't figure out until I started to train with you every day. I came to realise that what drew me towards you was your personality and determination to never give up. So...I love you too, (Y/N) (L/N)."
Shu confessed his feelings as well and he smiled when the girl lunged forward and engulfed him in a hug. Hugging her back, he softly spoke,
"We're official now, (n/n)."
The (e/c) eyed girl only blushed as she hid her face in his chest but smiled when she felt his warm lips touch her head. She was so in love with this albino.
