Brian O'Connor hated hospitals. Since the last time Valerie was in one he made a promise that neither would have to go to one for bad reason. It had been four hours and they still haven't heard anything. Alex, Izzy, and Mia stayed behind at the safe house to take care of the kids. Tess called in some favors and got the hospital to keep them being there a secret. The team stayed in the small waiting room but Brian sat a few seats away. Han walked over to him and took a seat.
"You haven't said anything in four hours. The team sent me as a peace offering" Han said and handed him a KitKat.
"This is my fault"
"Brian-"
"I never should have left her."
"You didn't know"
"I never should have walked out that door. If I didn't we wouldn't be here. We would be safe and she wouldn't be hurt. I was horrible to her...i shouldn't have tried to guilt trip her into getting an abortion. I just got so scared and I wasn't thinking straight."
"You both were right and wrong. She knows your sorry."
"What if she doesn't-" Brian stopped before he could finish that sentence.
"She will" Han reassured. He knew what Brian was thinking and he was terrified of it too. But for his own sake and Brian's he needed to be positive.
"I was supposed to keep her safe from all of this."
"You did Brian. None of this is your fault. If you want to blame anyone blame Dante and Spencer."
"Oh trust me I do. I'm gonna kill them for this"
"You know we will all be behind you"
"I know. Thank you"
Han pulled out the letter Valerie wrote for Brian as his birthday gift. She had given it to him in case they didn't come back before his birthday
"This is yours, Cass wrote it" he said and Brian took the letter.
"Mr. O'Connor?" A doctor said making him jump up.
"Yes?"
"We should talk more privately" he said and pulled Brian aside.
"How is she?"
"Your wife had Hypothermia due to how long she was in the water and suffered from the drowning. She also has three broken ribs due impact."
"Is my wife and child okay?"
"While we were checking her over we found that she was dealing with a bowel obstruction and perforation. She began to have internal bleeding so we rushed her into surgery." The doctor explained making Brian grow more worried by the seconds
"But she's okay right? Valerie and the baby are okay?"
"We managed to save the baby and She is stable but-"
"No- no please tell me she's fine."
"I'm sorry Sir but she's in a coma"
In that moment Brian lost all the feeling in his body. He felt like someone had just crushed his heart.
"No not my Valerie. She- she- not my Valerie! No! Tell me she's awake!"
"Mr. O'Connor"
"Oh god" he whispered and leaned against the wall trying to calm himself down.
"I need to see her"
The doctor just nodded and led him to her room. Once he walked in he felt tears roll down his cheeks. Brian went over to his wife and kneeled down next to her. He took her hand and kissed it multiple times.
"I'm so sorry, I'm sorry" he cried and looked up and Valerie's face. He caressed her cheek with his thumb and shook his head.
"You can't die on me okay? Your promised me and you keep your promises. I need you, our children need you and so does this little baby." He said and rested his head on your stomach.
"Your a little fighter like your momma aren't you" Brian whispered. That was the first time he had spoken to the baby. He was worried at first he would hurt the child but made an exception.
Brian got up and kissed his wife forehead. Han and Roman walked into the room and Han's eyes widened. He had seen Valerie go though many things in life but this was the first time he had ever seen her like this. Weirdly enough Valerie looked peaceful as if she was just taking a nap.
Roman put his hand on Brian's shoulder as Han held Valerie's other hand.
"Come on Cass, you gotta wake up. Someone has to kick Romans ass" Han said making the three chuckle
"And you gotta save me from Han over there. I'm pretty sure when he gets the chance he will kill me."
"We've all thought about it man"
"Me and Val made up our own plan too" Brian said with a small smile.
"Let me guess, Val's the one who kills me and makes you two hide the body?"
"Yup" Han nodded
"I can't do this without you. I can't do this alone" Brian whispered. He remembered how during their last fight Valerie said he would never be alone since they had the team but right now Brian just wanted his wife. He wanted his wife to constantly reassure him they were okay like always.
A week had passed and there was still no change. Hannah and Skylar began to grow restless and Hannah began to cry begging to see her mother. Brian wanted to stay by Valerie's side but knew she would want him to be with the kids. That's why he traded with Han.
If he trusted anyone else in this family to protect her it was him. Brian stayed at the safe house for a few hours so he could shower and get a proper meal. Alex refused to step foot in That hospital mostly because she didn't want to see her mother like that, it wasn't fair. She felt like was some evil switch. First Valerie saw her daughter in a coma now Alex had to suffer the same fate? The blonde couldn't face that.
Alex sat on the couch with Izzy next to her. Izabella hadn't had any contact with her father and was starting to worry. She knew he could take care of himself but she still was worried.
"Any word from your dad?" Alex asked
"Nope"
"Hey, I'm sure he'll be fine. He's Hobbs"
"Yeah I know" Izzy nodded and rested her head on her wife's shoulder. Alex intertwined her fingers with her wives and kissed her cheek.
"Thank you"
"For what?"
"For not dying on me."
"We came close"
"But we didn't"
"Since when did you become the optimist?"
"I have my moments" Alexandra shrugged.
"Better together?"
"Better together"
Just then the door opened and Letty walked in. Alex quickly jumped up and hugged her Aunt tightly.
"Thank god your ok"
"Dom caught me up on what happened. How is she?" Letty asked
"Stable but in a coma"
"And the baby?"
"Fighting"
"Hey, she's gonna be fine ok?"
"What if she not Letty"
"This is Valerie we're talking about. She will be"
A few hours later Brian came home and found Alex asleep on the couch next to Izzy. He covered them with a blanket.
"Night princess" he whispered before going upstairs to his other children,
"Dad can you tuck us in?" Sky asked as Brian walked in.
"Sure Blue" Brian nodded.
Both girls shared a twin size bed that was upstairs and Brian tucked both in. He was beyond thankful his children were safe but was still scared something could happen. Brian gave both girls a kiss on their foreheads before standing up.
"Wait! Mommy usually tells us a story" Hannah said making Brian frown.
"Not tonight Hannah"
"Please, she always told stories about you when you went away to make us feel as if you were still home" Skylar said and Brian couldn't say no to his kids.
"Okay, scoot over" Brian sighed making the two smile.
"What's kind of story do you want?"
"Ooo! How about mommy beating you in a race?" Hannah suggested making Brian laugh.
"No you should tell us when you, Mom, and Uncle Dom jumped through three buildings with that super car!" Skylar said
"How about I tell you guys about the time I saved your momma by crashing a car onto a boat" Brian suggested and saw their eye lit up
"Is it gonna be cheesy?"
"At the end yes"
"Then I'll make sure to fall asleep before that" Skylar said and rested her head in her dads chest.
"Okay so this was during the job where mom met Uncle Roman and Aunt Monica. We were undercover and the bad guy found out about it"
"Did mom kick his ass?" Hannah asked and Brian couldn't help but laugh
"Yes, she did but I'll get to that. Basically the bad guy took your mom and Aunt Monica on his boat. Your Uncle Roman saved me and after I came up with a plan to save momma. It was probably the most insane thing I ever did at that age and I totally destroyed my car but it was worth it. I crashed it into the boat and your mom stopped the bad guy. After that you mom kissed me and called me stupid for doing that but I focused on the kissing part." Brian finished and looked to see his daughter fell asleep in his arms. Brian held them both closely and closed his eyes imagine Valerie was with them too.
"Daddy?"
"Yeah Hannah?"
"When's Mommy coming back?" She asked
"Soon baby. We just have to wait till she feels better"
"Do you think she would feel better if I made her a card?"
"Oh definitely" Brian nodded
"I love you daddy"
"I love you too, Sweetheart. So much"
Han sat at Valerie's bedside and he read her Gone With The Wind. When they first met Valerie found the book in his apartment and stayed up till two at reading it most nights. Han sometimes would ask her to read it while he was working on his car just so he could have the company.
"You know I feel so stupid for doing this. I never understood your obsession with the book. How you watched that movie I never knew." Han chuckled and looked at her.
"I've been trying to help Brian but...we both know he'll only listen to you. He need you Val. Brian is lost without you. Hell, I'm lost without you. The team needs you but so do your kids. Alex hasn't even stepped foot in the hospital because she's terrified."
As if one que Alex came into the doorway. She didn't say anything but Han knew it was her.
"You didn't have to come Alex, she would understand." Han said
"I had to come. She did for me"
Han just nodded and stood up.
"She can hear us. At least that what the doctors think."
"Can I have a minute?"
"Of course" Han said and closed the door behind him. Alex slowly moved over to her mother and sat down. She took out a card she made of her mother that had her car on the cover.
"Hey Mom" Alex whispered
"Look you promised me you would be okay so I'm holding you to that. I don't care if I'm an adult I still need you. You stayed with me through everything and even though you left once it was to protect me. Everything you've ever done was to protect me and I don't know how I can ever repay that. I- I need you to tell me how to be a good wife. I need you to tell me all those little things like how to cook something- even though you can't really cook. I love you mom. I always will. Always and infinity." She finished. Alex felt a tear fall and took off the necklace Brian had given her. She put it around her moms neck and kissed her forehead.
"Don't leave me yet mommy." She whispered
Letty walked in and Alex hugged her Aunt
"I'll be outside" Alex said leaving her Aunt to have some time. Letty hated hospitals due to her memories with them. When the memories came back Valerie was the first one she remembered. She remembered how they met, when Valerie asked her to be her maid of honor, when she told her about Alex. Every milestone they were there for each other. Valerie helped Letty so much throughout her life and she felt as if she failed her. She blamed herself for letting Val come on the job. She didn't even know she was pregnant.
"Everyone is freaking out if you'll be okay or not. They act like it's even a question I mean come on, It's you. Your Valerie Toretto-O'Connor of course you'll make it. I would trade places with you if I could. You know that. Dom and Brian have barely slept. They blame themselves. I've tried talking to Dom but you know how that goes." Letty said and turned her head to look out the window.
"When Little Brian called me mom for the first time I felt a sense of pride. I was like wow! He is actually saying the word. I watched you and Alex together and I always admired how well you did. I mean you made it look easy. You showed me how to care for someone and look out for someone other than yourself. Thank you for showing me I can be a good mother"
When Letty walked out she didn't see the tear go down Valerie's cheek. She could hear everything they said but just couldn't open her eyes. Her body was too weak. Valerie tried to do something, anything, to let them know she could hear and understand them but her attempts failed.
Two more days had passed and Brian began to worry even more. The doctors said if she didn't wake up in the next few days then it would be up to Brian to declare it. Brian sat in the room next to his wife and just spoke to her. He just talked about random things or memories they shared hoping one would make her wake up.
"You know I was terrified of proposing to you. A part of me was glad I got sent to a conference because I knew I would've just freaked out at the dinner. But when I was at the conference all I did was think of you. So I got the earliest flight out and came home. At the dinner I know you saw I was nervous. You kept asking me if I was ok because I was sweating like crazy. When dessert came I finally worked up the nerve and when I got down on one knee and opened the ring I was absolutely terrified. You of course stared at me like I was insane for a few seconds but then you smiled. You smiled at me and then got down on one knee as well. You showed me the ring you had for me and we laughed. I think that's definitely one of my favorite memories of us." Brian said and saw the necklace Alex had given her.
"I remember when you gave that to me in Miami for luck. It definitely worked. That was the first time I realized i couldn't live without you. I thought I lost you a few times over the years. But you always came back. You have to come back Val."
Brian took off his jacket and a envelope fell out making him look at it confused.

Brian opened the letter and read it.
Happy Birthday! Now I know your not a fan of birthdays much so I figured I would go simple this year. We both know I'm not the cheesy type but I tried my best. You Brian O'Connor are the best person I ever met. I love you so much and I really don't know how my life would be without you. You showed me how to love again and best of all took Alex in as your own. For that I'm always going to be grateful. Hope you have a wonderful birthday and as your gift enjoy 100 thing I love about you. Don't laugh I tried my best.

The blonde read through the reasons and saw she only had gotten to 99. He laughed at that and smiled. He felt a few tears roll down his cheek and looked at number 99
99- I love how great of a father you are
"You know your the reason I am a good father. You showed me how to be a good man. I know I'm not really a religious guy but I guess I'll give it a shot." He said and held his wife's hand tightly.
"Hey...god? I don't do this a lot so don't hate me for how I sound. I never really understood how Valerie had such blind faith that everything would be okay with the baby. That was never my thing. I'm the kind of guy who needs to know and needs proof....Please don't take them away from me. I know I'm not an amazing person but Valerie is. She the best one I know and she deserves to live. She deserves to have this baby. She deserves to continue being a mother. I don't know how to live without her. I know we vowed till death do us part but it's not that time yet. I need my wife. I need her to tell me everything will be okay even if it's not, I need her smile to make me happy, I need her laugh, I need her. Please wake up Val. Our story isn't done yet" Brian said whispering the last part. He rested his forehead on the bed and let his sobs out.
Suddenly he felt her hand squeeze his making his head shoot up.
"One- one hundred, I love how amazing you- you are as a husband." Valerie whispered. Her voice was sore due to her not talking but Brian understood.
"Oh thank god" Brian said before hugging his wife. He felt as if a weight had been lifted off his chest. Valerie kissed his cheek and the two rested their foreheads against each other.
"I thought I lost you baby"
"Wasn't ready to leave you yet" Valerie whispered
Brian kissed his wife and she cupped his cheeks.
"I love you"
"I love you too, are the kids okay?"
"They're fine, everyone's fine." He reassured
"The baby?"
"Is a fighter like you" Brian said making her smile.
"I'm sorry" Valerie said and Brian shook his head.
"No, you don't need to apologize"
"Brian you weren't wrong. I should have told you"
"But I shouldn't have guilt tripped you. I should have been more understanding-"
"We both were stubborn."
"I'm sorry about what I said when I walked out. I'm sorry for leaving. I'm so sorry"
"I told you to go that wasn't your fault."
Valerie pulled Brian in for a hug and the blonde sobbed as Valerie held onto him tightly.
"Shh, hey, we're ok. Your ok, our kids are ok, I'm ok" Valerie said slowly and Brian nodded. He had been so strong that it all just became to much for him.
"How long have I been out?"
"A little over a week. The doctors said if you didn't wake up then I would have to..."
Valerie felt guilt settle in. She couldn't imagine how Brian must have felt. She felt horrible for putting him through that.
"I'm so sorry, baby."
"It's not your fault. Your awake now that's all that matters."
Valerie moved over for Brian to sit next to her. He looked at her nervously but still laid down. Valerie ran her finger through his hair calming him down.
"When's the last time you slept honey?" Valerie asked seeing the bags under his eyes.
"A while"
"Get some sleep"
"I'm okay" Brian said. He was worried if he did sleep something would happen.
"Get some sleep Blondie. You need it"
"But-"
"Brian do you really want to argue with your pregnant wife?" Valerie smirked. God he missed her smile.
"No Ma'm" he said and did as told. He rested his head on her chest and smiled.
"I have a feeling this time it's gonna be a boy" he said talking about the baby
"I think so too, I liked Ashton"
"Yeah?"
"Yeah" Valerie nodded and silently thanked god her family was safe.
A few hours later after the team was notified Valerie woke up. Alex brought Sky and Hannah to see her. The three walked in to find Brian asleep and Valerie resting. Valerie's eyes lit up seeing her children and saw Hannah had tears streaming down her face.
"Hannah come here, darling" she said and Hannah ran to her mother. She hugged her tightly and kissed the top of her head.
"You scared me mommy"
"I'm sorry I scared you." She said and hugged Skylar too.
"Here come sit"
"Are you sure? I don't want to hurt you?" Skylar said
"I'm ok" Valerie reassured and the two climbed on the bed. Skylar rested on top of Brian who opened his eyes.
"Hey dad"
"Hey girls" he smiled and hugged them. Hannah sat in the middle since she was the smallest and Alex pulled up a chair to sit next to her mom.
"I love you too Dove, always and infinity" Valerie said making her smile
"You heard me?"
"Every word sunshine"
Eventually all the girls drifted off to sleep and Brian looked at them. Brian O'Connor did what he was going to do. He protected his family. He saw Roman and Han standing outside the door protectively and knew he could finally get some sleep. He kissed Valerie's forehead and smiled.
"Hey Blondie?"
"Yeah?" Brian responded smiling at the nickname
"Ride or die?"
"Ride or die"
"I love you"
"I love you. Till the end of the line"

I have so much to say but for your sake I'll keep it short. Originally I wrote this book about two years ago but it didn't get much love and I lost motivation so I got rid of it. In February I got back into my fast and furious era so I decided to make the book again but make some changes. (A lot of changes)
I never thought this book would grow as much as it did and I'm so thankful it has. Thank you to all of you who have been here since the beginning and thank you to all of you who have joined along the way. I can't believe I have actually finished this book! This is my first one I've ever completed so I'm so happy. And in honor of that I will be publishing my NCIS book!
I love Valerie and Alex so much so I will be active on this book still. I'll make some changes here and there so I won't ever truly leave it. Thank you so much for giving this book some love. I am so grateful and just am so happy.
