Y/n POV
I'm woken up by the sun peering through my blind and it didn't feel like I was sleeping for long, but that couldn't be because I worked on my essay until three in the morning so that way I could just get it done and over with. I begin to feel around in my bed for my phone but when I can't find it, so I look to my night stand and luckily there it was laying face down.
I rub the tired out of my eyes as I check for the time. It read eleven am. At least I didn't sleep the whole day. In the process of checking my phone for the time, I see that I also have messages from Liz asking when school starts. She's really jumping the gun because we still have like three months and when I tell her that, she sends me a quick thumbs up
I decided that I should probably get ready for the day so I get up to get clothes ready so that way I could take a shower. As I'm digging for clothes, I hear a light knock at my door
"Yea?" I asked
"Are you ready? Do you want to go with me to show this house?" My mom asked through the door
I looked down at myself as I was still in my pjs
"I actually just woke up" I said honestly
Just then, my mom opened the door and peaked her head in hesitantly
"Everything alright? You're usually up pretty early" she asked
"I just went to bed late. I was writing that essay all night" I replied
"Oh okay" she answered
"Next time?" I asked
She nodded with a smile before she spoke
"Do you have any plans today?" She asked
"I think I just might get caught up on some of the work for the real estate course" I told her
"How much more do you have to go?" she asked
"Well it's a self paced thing since it's online" I told her
She hummed in response
"But I'm trying to finish it as soon as possible" I added
"And then you'll take the licensing exam?" She asked me
I nodded
"Good" she smiled
A slight silence fell over us
"Well, I'll let you get ready" she told me before grabbing my door handle and closing it behind her
Once I was sure she wasn't going to come back in, I placed my clothes on the bathroom counter and began to set my water and once it was to the temperature I like, I got in and did my usual routine

I've been stuck on the same question for like seven minutes on this practice test I'm taking for the real estate license exam and I begun to grow frustrated. I rub my head as I try to remember what I read about it, but nothing is coming to mind. I scan the question over and over again in hopes of something coming to me, but nothing does.
I lean back in my chair in an effort to relax my back, it was short lived though because I then heard my phone ping. Almost choosing the ignore it, I lean forward slightly and see that I have an Instagram notification. Instagram has really been a gamble these last few days. It could be Liz with memes or it could be the blonde singer herself so as you can imagine, I'm hesitant to open it. As I click on the notification it takes me to an Instagram dm from Liz. Of course this girl would send me her another edit of Taylor performing Vigilante Shit, which leads me to like it before closing my phone and setting it on my desk. I was truly debating on whether or not to just close out of my tabs and call it a day for the real estate course, but I'm pulled out of my thoughts when I get yet another notification, this time from the singer

Sorry I didn't mean to leave you in delivered
No worries at all! Are you ready for your show tomorrow?
As ready as I can be

"Y/n!" Liz yelled and rang my doorbell as I was about to response to Taylor
I began to walk down the stairs and open the door for my friend with bad timing
"What?" I asked letting her in
"I have an idea, but stay with me because it's crazy" she began
"Oh god" I said
"What if we take a trip to Texas to see Taylor again?" She suggested
"Are you insane?" I asked
"A little" she admitted
"Do you know how much tickets are?" I asked
"Let me finish telling you how we're gonna get there" she started
I nodded for her to continue with this outrageous idea, but I should still hear her out nonetheless
"Back when I was losing hope on us winning those tickets through that radio station, I entered hella contests for different states and I won the Texas one" she explained
My mouth hung open
"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" I asked
"Because I didn't think we would win" she said
"When did you find out?" I asked
"Well they sent the email last night, but I just opened it now" she replied
I nodded for her to continue now wondering how we're going to get flights under such short notice
"The flight and hotel is covered by the sweepstakes" she added reading my mind
"I need to ask my parents" I said
"Hopefully they say yes because the flight leaves tomorrow morning at four" she spoke
"Four!?" I exclaimed
She nodded
"Okay let me talk to my parents" I said
"Okay, mine already said yes so we're covered on that part" she said
I nodded

"Y/n, I'm home" my moms voice sounded throughout the house
Liz and I walked out of my room together and began to make our way to the living room where my mom most likely is
"Oh hey Liz" my mom smiled
"Hi" she smiled and waved
"Will you be staying for dinner? I know your mom works late at the hospital tonight" my mom asked
Before Liz could even protest, I spoke for her
"Yes she is" I said
My mom nodded
"I'll get started when your father gets home. He said he wants to help" She told us
Both of us nodded
"What have you girls been doing all day?" My mom asked
"We've just been laying around" I said honestly
"It's too hot to do anything anyways, but you girls should've went to the pool" my mom suggested
"That's actually not a bad idea" I said
"Maybe you girls can go tomorrow" she spoke
I nodded
"Well. I'll let you know when its ready" my mom said referring to dinner
Right as she spoke, the front door began to unlock and in came my bad
"Oh hey girls" he smiled at all of us
Liz and I waved with a smile while my mom kissed him
"Are you staying for dinner?" My dad asked Liz
"Yea" she answered
"Perfect! We're trying something new tonight!" He said sounding excited
"I cant wait" she smiled
"Let me just go change and we can get started" he told my mom as she nodded
"Go back to gossiping" my mom shooed us away
"We weren't gossiping" I laughed
That caused her to hum sarcastically
"Do I really look like the type to gossip?" Liz asked
"Yes, now go" she shooed us once more
Liz's mouth dropped open
"Do you want to go sit in the backyard?" I asked
"Depends, can we sit in the hammock?" She asked
"Obviously" I replied
"Then yes" she followed me out there
I let her get in the hammock first because I'm just nice like that
"We should try and flip it" she said
"I don't think it'll flip" I replied
"Lets try" she said
I shrugged as we began to rock in it with some force
"See, it wont flip" I said
"We're not trying hard enough" she said
So we tried harder.. until we did flip
"Oww" she groaned as she landed on her shoulder
"I can't believe I let you talk me into that" I said rubbing my elbow
"What just happened?" My dad asked coming outside
"We flipped" I groaned
That caused him to burst out laughing
"Why are you laughing?" I asked
"I didn't think it was possible to flip that, but leave it to you two to try and figure it out" he wiped his stray tears
"It really hurt" I said
"I bet, I'm gonna pull up the video after dinner" he said as he pointed to the camera that took a video of the whole backyard
My eyes widened. I totally forgot we had that
"It's embarrassing" I said
"That's why we're gonna watch it" he laughed once more before walking back into the house
Liz and I sat out here for s few more minutes. Not flipping anything, Just sitting
"They just flipped the hammock" I heard my dad tell my mom with a laugh
She looked out the window that overlooked the backyard and shook her head at us. It wasn't long before dinner was ready and Liz and I were soon called in
We both looked at each other as we got out of the hammock and began walking inside. Liz helped me set the table quickly as my parents pulled the dish out of the oven
"Ooo that smells good" Liz spoke
"What is it?" I asked
"It's ricotta Gnudi" my dad spoke
Liz looked at me confused
"Italian" I whispered and she nodded
We all began to sit down at the table. My parents sat next to each other and Liz and I sat next to each other
"So what did you girls do all day?" My dad asked
"Just lounged around" my mom answered for us
He nodded
"Are you girls registered for your classes?" He asked both of us
"Registration doesn't open until next month" I replied
"Right, I forgot. I apologize" he said
"No worries" Liz and I said at the same time
That's when Liz kicked me under the table, causing me to snap my head at her. She then rose her eyebrows, signaling me to ask already since we're all here
"I uh, I wanted to ask you guys something" I began
"What is it hun?" My mom asked me
"So first off, when Liz and I weren't sure we were gonna win tickets to the concert, she entered a few contests to try and win some for different states" I began
"Texas to be exact" Liz spoke up
"And she won" I added
"Wow, you girls are just full of good luck" my mom taking a sip of her wine
I nodded before I spoke
"And I was just wondering if I can go? I know its such short notice and I know I already went, but I would like to go again. The flight and hotel is covered by the sweepstakes and it leaves early in the morning" I rambled
My parents shared a glance at each other
"And there's something else I need to tell you" I began
My parents grew a worried look
"It's nothing bad, but the day you guys met Serenity, Taylor Swift. Like the Taylor Swift messaged me on Instagram and thanked me for coming to her show and we've been small talking ever since" I blurted in the spur of the moment
Both parents were speechless
"Like the real Taylor Swift?" My dad asked
I nodded
"No way" he said
"I'll even show you" I said
"I wouldn't doubt it, based off those videos you girls showed me, she's very drawn to you for whatever reason" my mom spoke
"So back to the concert.. can I go?" I asked once more
My parents looked at each other with a knowing look
"Well I guess since everything is paid for, it would be stupid not to go" my dad began
"We'd be stupid if we said no" my mom added
That caused Liz to jump up from her chair
"YES!" She fist pumped the air
"Sorry" she apologized as she sat back down and straightened out her clothes
"Stand back up" I told Liz
She did just that and I pulled her into a hug. I could see from the corner of my eye that my parents were holding hands and smiling
"When does that flight leave?" My dad asked
"four in the morning" I said
"Well then you girls better get to packing when we're done" my mom said
"I'm already packed" Liz said
My parents nodded
"Thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you a million times" I told them as I walked over to them to hug them
"Of course, honey. But you better bring me a shirt" my dad said
"Of course. Of course I will" I said

Liz and I decided to just not go to sleep at all. Between packing and the fear of missing our flight is what stopped us. It's now one thirty in the morning, I just finished packing thirty minutes ago and we need to leave now since it take about forty five minutes to get to the airport, and hour for TSA, and the rest is playing the waiting game
"Are you all ready?" I asked my friend
She nodded tiredly
"Okay, I'll order the Uber now" I said
As if on cue, both of my parents came downstairs. It looks like not of them has been asleep yet
"We're taking you" my dad spoke
"Oh no. Go to sleep, you guys have work tomorrow" I told them both
"We're not letting you get in an Uber this late at night when we're perfectly capable of taking you girls" my mom said
There was no point in arguing because they were going to take us either way
"Plus, I'm going in late tomorrow" my dad said
"I don't have a showing until noon" my mom added
All I could do was nod with slouched shoulders
"Do you girls have everything?" My dad asked
"Yea, I think so" I said
"Double check" my mom spoke
Liz and I did just that. We have enough clothes, we have our scooter shirts, even though we might find a different outfit, toothbrush, toothpaste, we're all set.
"I'm good" I said
"Me too" Liz agreed
My parents nodded as my dad got the car keys and we began to make our way to the car
"This is so exciting! Our first vacation without any adults!" Liz said eagerly
"Just a fair warning, Texas is hot" my mom said
"And that's what I'm not excited for" I said
"I think you two will be fine though. Just make sure to drink plenty of water" my dad spoke
"Will do" I replied
"I can't believe you're going to Texas to see a blonde woman" my mom shook her head at the idea
"I can't believe Liz entered the contest and didn't tell me until now" I shrugged
"In my defense, I don't check my email as often as I should" she laughed
I shook my head at her with a smile
"I wonder if she'll be surprised to see you" my dad spoke up
I pulled a confused face
"Taylor Swift" he said
I made an O face before I spoke
"Maybe. I told her the chances of us going to another show was slim since the tickets are so expensive" I answered
"Well, maybe try and get her reaction when she sees you. I need to know if she's shocked or not" he said
"I'll try" I laughed
"You're not going to tell her we're going again?" Liz asked
"No. I think it'll be a good surprise, that is if she doesn't notice us" I said honestly
"Ooo yea, that's a good idea" Liz said
I nodded
"If you get the twenty two hat again, I'll probably jump off a bridge" Liz spoke
"I doubt I will. I hope you get it though" I said
"That would be a dream" she sighed
The whole car ride was full of conversations from every direction, from my parents telling us to be safe, to Liz romanticizing Taylor and I. I don't understand how she can be this upbeat with no sleep. I'm dying over here.
"You girls better stay safe. I swear to god if one of you comes back pregnant or with nasty marks on your neck, or anything, I'll end you both" my mom hugged me then Liz
"But most importantly, have fun!" My dad cheered as it was now his turn to hug us
"Thank you for driving us, I love you both" I hugged them both together one last time
"Again, I want to see her reaction when she sees you" my dad added
"And I will try my best" I said honestly
"That's all I can ask for" he smiled
Liz and I waved one last time as my parents waved us off. We began checking our bags and tickets the second we walked into the airport
"I can't believe they said yes" Liz spoke suddenly
"They say yes to everything" I replied
"But this is a whole different state" she added
She had a point
"I think they're just glad you get me out of the house" I said
"Well, you're twenty four, its not like they can boss you around anyways, plus someone has to get you out of the house, you live like an old lady" Liz said
"Gee thanks, but they actually could since I'm still living under their roof" I pointed out
"We should get an apartment together" she suggested suddenly
"Yea, maybe when rent isn't like two thousand a month" I said
"You're right" she replied
"But we will" I confirmed
She nodded
"I can't wait to sleep on the plane" I said honestly
"Me too. I'm so tired" she agreed
